Chapter 11: The Golden Qilin's Egg.
"Chiffu, what are your motives for bringing intruders to our Zulu treasure house?" The man on the left side snarled. He seemed to look down on Chiffu.
"Intruders?" Chiffu feigned confusion, then he pointed at Chris and the rest.
"These brats here aren't intruders but accomplices," Chiffu said causing Christopher said the others to almost spit out blood.
"Uncle Chiffu, can't you be a bit shameful." Christopher teased.
Chiffu just patted Christopher's head in return as he smiled "Don't worry there's no need to feign our connection, they are going to die anyways."
The guards now seem to understand the entire scenario playing out in their front.
"Accomplice?"
"Kill them?"
"Hmph"
The guards put two and two together and understood Chiffu's motive for coming here. They drew their swords and pointed them at Chiffu.
"I have always warned the Clan chief about your suspiciousness, but he turned deaf ears, when we are done with you, your head would be evidence before him and these your accomplices would be eyewitnesses." The man on the left seemed to be the one who loved and spoke most.
The guard on the right did not seem to be interested in chit-chat as he appeared in front of Chiffu and launched an attack, aiming for Chiffu's head.
At the same time, he had a reddish glow that covered him, which seemed to imbue him with greater strength.
It was as if Chiffu had known that the guard would launch a sneak attack. Not only was he prepared for it, but he even launched a counterattack against it.
The two of them were so close that Chiffu should have had no time to react to his counterattack, thus sealing his defeat, but unexpectedly, he wasn't at a disadvantage by the guard's sneak attack.
The guard keenly noticed that and quickly dodged.
Chiffu's sword imbued with a greenish poisonous gas landed squarely on where the guard's head was previously. He was so decisive with his strike that he instantly aimed for his opponent's head.
He was unfazed by the guard's increased strength because he had also used some strange sort of skill that imbued him in a greenish gaseous encasement that felt as if it was not there but was there.
Christopher could sense that it gave off a different aura from the skill scroll he found earlier. This present one gave a man-made feeling and the other one gave a divine feeling.
"This feeling..."
"This is the geno art of the Jumanji tribe, who the heck are you." The guards spoke in unison and deep shock, and also a touch of resentment engraved on their faces.
"Did you guys stand here so long that you forgot to think?"
"The divine eagle geno art that went missing in the Jumanji tribe, was stolen by their person right?"
"I thought you said you were weary of me, so why are you reeling in shock right now."
"I have another persona that would drop your jaws," Chiffu said as he brought out an item from his bag. It was a glove that looked shabby, but this glove was a very rare treasure too.
"The missing gloves of goddess Shandara!!!" The guards said in deeper shock. It seems this glove was of a far higher value than the Geno art.
This shabby glove was one of their ancestor's signature weapons during her days, and ever since she passed away it has been kept in the clan chief's treasury because no one was able to unleash its might since her demise.
Then ten years ago the treasury was swooped clean by a man in a mask who called himself Shinsuke.
Now the glove is with Chiffu.
"Y-you are Shinsuke?" The guards said in unison their legs shaking frighteningly.
This Shinsuke assassinated the man next to the clan chief who was heard to have been able to rival the clan chief during his time.
This was just to show the strength of Shinsuke, who were they before one that could be at least a rival to their clan chief.
"Now you can both go to the netherworld with understanding," Chiffu said with a devilish smile as his sword passed through their necks. As they had no resolution to fight back before they breathed their last.
Chiffu wiped his sword clean of their blood as he felt disgusted by it. "My sword shouldn't be soiled by the blood of cowards who don't dare face people stronger than them."
"Even someone as shameless as you look down on people in your category, what's the difference between you guys," Christopher whispered to himself in disgust.
"What are you standing there to watch?"
"Move it!" Chiffu snarled at Christopher and the others.
The survivors quickly snapped out of their daze and quickly followed Chiffu as he brought out a golden two-meter key from his sleeves and slotted it into the large keyhole, then he made some hand seals before the gigantic doors were wide open.
Beyond those doors was a long passage and along the passage on but sides were treasures which Christopher and the others hadn't seen before. And at the end of the passage, a golden egg the size of a watermelon rested comfortably on a pillar.
Chiffu suddenly burst with speed as he dashed straight for the egg and started caressing it like a mother to her newborn child. This was now his biggest asset.
"Finally I have found the egg of the divine Qilin.
The divine Qilin was a legend from the myth, it was rumored to be able to lift its master's strength through leaps and bounds and be able to attain a position among the top powerhouses in the entire multiverse.
It was even rumored that Emperor Doom; one of the strongest people in the history of the soul power era, attained his current height because of the help of the divine Qilin.
But the shortcoming was that your talent must have reached a certain level before you can hatch the egg of a divine Qilin before you can go on to be blessed with its power.
The Zulu village obtained this treasure with pure luck and even their ancestors who were recognized by them to be gods couldn't hatch the egg no matter what means they tried.
It was said a touch was enough to make the egg react, and once it's enclosed in one's aura for a long period it would cause the egg to hatch.
This information was also passed to Christopher by Little bot.
"Little bot, how certain are you with what you have just said?" Christopher inquired, not wanting to give himself false hopes if anything weird happened or how much composure he would retain to avoid suspicions.
"Come to Papa Baby" Chiffu grinned ear to ear as he cracked his knuckles. As he uncovered the egg.
As he laid his hands on it, a frown appeared on his face, then he kept touching it at different spots as if he was looking for something on it.
Suddenly he braced himself up and tried to comfort himself as he said in a voice loud enough to be heard by Christopher and the others.
"Even if I can't harness your might, I would be able to sell you for a very colossal amount, then I would be the one to change my generation and build myself an empire."
"What are you guys looking at?"
"Must I always tell you what to do?"
"Start moving these kinds of stuff, I'm gonna be rich with all these treasures sold and pay that clan chief for the evil he caused upon my family by slaying my father," Chiffu said with anger burning in his eyes.
"You with the ego, come and take this from me and put it in the cart over there." Chiffu pointed at Christopher as he ordered.
"Me? With ego? You talk nonsense a lot old man." Christopher murmured with a shrug.
Then walked over to collect the egg from him as the others went about to gather the other treasures.
"I wonder why a place would be stacked with treasures like this and there would be no single booby trap, I wonder what your clan spends their time thinking about," Christopher said mockingly as he stretched his hands to receive the egg.
Suddenly, he felt a very sharp fierce glare landing on him.
It was from Chiffu.
"No one apart from me can talk down on my Zulu village, be careful of what you say about them, or else you'll lose your tongue," Chiffu said with a chilly tone. He meant every word he said to the bone.
"Hehehehe, I didn't mean it like that you know, man was only pulling your legs." Christopher laughed as he switched to a playful tone.
"Don't you dare joke with my clan," he said as he placed the sword on Christopher's shoulder to show how furious he was getting.
The entire atmosphere in the passage was weird as they all looked in their direction. Sarah gave Christopher a look urging him to apologize sincerely.
"Ok ok, I'm so sorry about my foolishness, junior was so naive have mercy," Christopher said in a serious and sincere tone.
"Don't worry, forget it," Chiffu said with a simpler expression as he handed the egg to Christopher. They never expected his tone to become softer with just an apology.
The survivors breathed a sigh of relief as Christopher grabbed the egg only for something strange to occur.
