Chapter 332: Abbey Comes

Todd was a little absent-minded the whole day. He drove aimlessly.

At last, the car stopped at Daisy's apartment building.

When he came back to his senses, he was sort of stunned. He subconsciously glanced at the security room in the community. The one on duty today was a young man.

He tapped the steering wheel with his long fingers, restrained his complicated thoughts, and got out of the car.

He registered at the security office and entered the community.

Daisy was in the room at that moment. She was checking the information about Betty and her son that the private detective she had entrusted found.

Phillip was indeed generous. He promised her a month of salary leave until she quit her job.

She did this job to pass the time. Now she decided to stay in the apartment and think about how to go on the following path in life.

First of all, she needed to drive Betty and her son out of the Lainey family!

The doorbell rang non-stop. Daisy frowned slightly and thought she didn't order a takeout today.

She got up and opened the door. At the sight of Todd, who was smiling, she wanted to close the door.

"Hey, don't close the door. I have something to talk to you about!" Todd quickly stretched out an arm to press against the crack of the door, revealing half of his handsome face.

Daisy stared at his hand. As long as she exerted a bit of strength, he might be the one to enter the hospital this time.

A touch of frustration and helplessness flashed through her clear eyes. Daisy loosened her grip, and Todd immediately pushed open the door and entered the room sideways.

It was the first time he had a chance to enter the room after courting Daisy for so long.

It was a typical single apartment. The space was neither too large nor too small. The decoration was exceptionally exquisite. It was obvious that the owner knew well about how to enjoy life.

His gaze quickly swept around the room and finally landed on a corner of the living room that was covered by a purple gauze curtain.

If he was not mistaken, what was placed there should be a bathtub. Next to it was a small and exquisite porcelain table with several goblets on it.

He imagined the scene of this woman drinking and taking a bath at night while the breeze blew through the gauze curtain. Todd, who was in a low mood just now, felt fire in his body at that moment.

Daisy saw that there was something wrong with Todd's expression. She followed his line of sight and instantly got it. Her face turned red and she blocked him.

"I haven't permitted you in. Get out!"

Todd's gaze fell on her blushing face. He guessed that she was shy.

He thought to himself, 'Well, it's rare for her to feel shy.'

He gave a broader smile. "Don't be like this. We're friends. At least give me some water to drink!"

"What are you here for?" Daisy stood rooted to the ground.

Seeing how determined she was, Todd knew that he would probably not be able to drink anything today.

However, he was not in a hurry. He believed that he would be able to live in her nest reasonably sooner or later.

When he thought about this, he found the next thing he had to face was not that difficult.

"I have a party to attend tonight. I want you to go with me... Hey, don't be in a hurry to refuse. Ann is also here..."

Seeing Daisy looking at him suspiciously, Todd knew there was a chance.

He leaned to her. "Didn't you say you wanted to marry into a wealthy family? Your man will take you to make friends with wealthy families now!"

The closer he got, the more he smelled the faint fragrance on her. Todd's Adam's apple rolled slightly, and he wanted to kiss her.

The second before he was about to kiss her, his face was pushed away by Daisy.

He took the opportunity to kiss her soft hand.

Daisy's palm felt a little itchy, and her eyes widened in an instant. She quickly withdrew her hand and hid it behind her back.

Her ears unconsciously turned red, and she felt a little embarrassed.

"Todd!"

She was angry out of embarrassment. Seeing this, Todd smiled faintly, "Seriously. Go with me. I'm begging you. Otherwise, I don't dare to go alone."

Daisy's red lips were slightly pursed. She wanted to mock him that he was too cheeky to be afraid of anything.

However, when she saw his light smile, she inexplicably recalled the depressed look he had when he was in the hospital yesterday.

It was just a moment of soft-heartedness, and the words had already blurted out.

"Why?"

From the moment she met Todd, this man had always been sloppy in front of her. He was the cheekiest man she had seen. He wouldn't stop pestering her no matter what she said or did to him.

She wondered what it was that made him feel so gloomy.

"Because I made an irreparable mistake."

Daisy saw the sadness and self-blame in his eyes when he said this, and her heart slightly tightened.

She wanted to ask him what it was, but her rationality stopped her. She tried her best to make herself sound flat.

"Everyone makes mistakes. If you are wrong, then go correct and make up for it."

The corners of Todd's mouth twitched, and the emotions in his eyes were difficult to understand.

Correct... It couldn't be that easy.

Daisy saw that he was still depressed and pursed his lips. She was hesitating whether she should say something to comfort him, but she saw him raise his lips with a triumphant smile on his face.

"Daisy, are you concerned about me? Actually, you have feelings for me, right?"

Daisy pursed her red lips and looked at Todd's proud face. "Get out!"

She thought she should not have been soft-hearted towards this man!

Todd looked at her, his eyes sparkling.

"Daisy, you didn't want to sit in the front passenger seat yesterday because of the high heels print on the footpad, right? You got me wrong. Joey just returned and I lent him the car. He drove it to pick up his girlfriend. There's no need for you to be jealous!"

Daisy's indifferent expression could no longer be maintained, and her clear eyes were filled with indignation as if they were covered with a layer of water.

"Don't come to me again!" Todd was pushed out of the door with all her might.

The door closed with a bang. Todd stood outside the door and touched his nose.

Thinking back to when Daisy closed the door just now and her cold and gorgeous face was covered in a blush, he could not help but laugh.

He didn't really want Daisy to go with him. After all, when he saw Abbey again, he must have been in a sorry state and had no mood to take care of Daisy.

He just wanted to see Daisy and confirm that she liked him more or less. Now his agitated heart gradually calmed down.

Making up for it? That was the only way.

...

Todd had just arrived on the ground floor of the Sky Club when a blue luxurious car was driving towards him.

A young woman came out of the car. The woman was tall and dressed in a simple style. She was holding Prada's latest limited edition handbag. Her short hair was neat, and her sunglasses covered most of her face. However, it was enough to get Todd's smile to fade.

Abbey got out of the car and was about to enter the door when she caught a glimpse of Todd standing at the side. She took off her sunglasses and waved at him.

"Todd? Hey, bro, we haven't seen each other for a long time. Why don't you say hello to your dear sister?"
