Chapter 663: Master Control Brain

Wendy frowned, thinking hard.

"They say those bad guys in black clothes hammered lots of glowing bad nails into Blue Star Mommy," she said in her small voice. "Those bad nails suck away Blue Star Mommy's strength, and they'll open a really big, really dark scary door."

"Behind the door are even worse big monsters that want to eat all of us."

The scene Wendy described in fairy-tale language made us adults, who understood what it meant, shudder with fear.

The bad nails she mentioned were undoubtedly the Association's deep-sea energy matrix nodes.

And that dark door must be the final goal of the Ark Project—the dimensional gateway.

"Wendy, can you still sense those bad nails, or the exact location of the Association's plan?" I asked urgently.

If Wendy could sense these things, it would be incredibly helpful for our mission.

Wendy closed her eyes again, and the Cradle Heart mark on her forehead glowed with an increasingly strong emerald light.

A moment later, she suddenly opened her eyes and pointed with her little finger toward the center of the island beneath us, in the direction of the Fallen Star Altar.

"There's one really big, really bad glowing nail right there!" Wendy's voice carried obvious fear. "It's connected to the heart of this island under our feet, and to the stars in the sky too."

"If that bad nail gets fully lit up, Blue Star Mommy will hurt really bad, and the whole world will become a total mess!"

A key energy node of the Association's Ark Project was actually hidden beneath Mist Island.

This news hit me like another thunderbolt, striking hard at my heart.

I immediately shared this shocking discovery with Olivia and Zara.

Combining the information from the Atlantis ruins, Olivia's expression became extremely grave.

"Matthew, Wendy's feeling is probably real," she said in a heavy voice. "The Fallen Star Altar is already a core node where underground energy lines and cosmic stellar forces converge."

"Those lunatics at the Association most likely took advantage of this and secretly installed one of their key energy amplifiers deep beneath the Fallen Star Altar!"

"They want to use the Fallen Star Altar's unique properties to maximize signals from higher dimensions, ultimately using the entire Mist Island as a sacrifice to open their dimensional gateway!"

My fists clenched tight, nails digging deep into my palms, but I felt no pain.

Those bastards at the Association not only wanted to destroy the world, but also completely bury our last home.

I absolutely would not allow it!

"The plan to go to Bermuda needs to change," I took a deep breath, cold killing intent flashing in my eyes. "Before we head overseas, we must first pull out this nail under our feet that could explode at any moment."

"Target: beneath the Fallen Star Altar! We'll rip out the Association's hidden conspiracy by the roots!"

Who would have thought those lunatics at the Association would bury one of the key nodes of their world-destroying Ark Project beneath our Mist Island.

And connect it to the ancient Fallen Star Altar.

The alarm bells were ringing at full volume.

Before heading overseas to find the Heart of the Abyss, we had to dismantle this powder keg beneath our feet.

Otherwise, once that bad nail underground got activated, the entire Mist Island would become their sacrifice for opening the dimensional gateway, and we'd lose even our last home.

But this problem was far more troublesome than we thought.

Combining Wendy's sensing, Olivia's fingers flew rapidly across the light screen, pulling up ancient Atlantis data and underground energy line fluctuation maps.

The final conclusion made everyone's hearts sink.

The energy node the Association hid beneath the Fallen Star Altar wasn't isolated at all.

It had complex connections to the deep-sea energy matrix spread across the global seabed and several other Association main control bases.

If we went in hard, we'd instantly alert Association headquarters and might even trigger the Ark Project early, causing irreversible disaster.

"We can't alert them," Olivia looked at me calmly. "To completely disable the Ark Project, we either need to find the true core of their global coordinate network, or we need to first paralyze several of the most critical regional control centers so they can't connect."

"Regional control centers?" My heart stirred, remembering what the guide had mentioned about Night Owl's lair, the Heart of the Abyss.

Wasn't that place an important hub of the Association's deep-sea energy matrix?

But the guide had also said that the Association's core bases were all heavily guarded.

With our current strength, taking them out one by one was pure fantasy, and we definitely didn't have enough time.

"Maybe we don't need to destroy them all," Olivia pondered, seeming to have a new idea. "I've decrypted some of the Association's encrypted communications and analyzed the technical principles of their coordinate network. I found that this so-called global network has several crucial Master Control Brains."

"These Master Control Brains process massive amounts of data from all nodes, then amplify the signals and direct them toward that higher dimension."

"As long as we can take out one of them, we can paralyze the entire network for a short time, buying us precious time to solve the Mist Island problem."

Olivia's suggestion was like lightning breaking through the deadlock before us.

This might be our only way to use small forces against large ones and tip the entire board.

"So how do we find those Master Control Brains?" I asked urgently.

The Association's secret bases were already hard to find, and this core of cores would be like finding a needle in a haystack.

Just as I was pressing for answers, a familiar yet strange voice suddenly rang in my mind without warning.

It was the guide, who had been silent for so long.

"Young guardian, I heard your conversation," his voice was calm as always, but listening carefully, there was a suppressed urgency beneath it.

"Elder!" My heart leaped with joy—he had indeed been watching over us.

"The Association's Ark Project has entered its countdown. You really don't have much time left," the guide's voice grew heavier. "I know the location of one Master Control Brain, the closest to you and the one you have the best chance of breaking through."

"It's deep in the North Sea, at an underwater base code-named Odin's Eye."

"That place is not only the main control center for the North Atlantic region, but also handles the critical task of dimensional signal analysis."

"I can give you infiltration routes and some backdoors in the defense system."

"But as for the specific situation inside the base and the top-tier forces guarding the Master Control Brain, I can't help with that."

The guide paused, seeming to hesitate.

"Odin's Eye has had very unusual energy fluctuations recently. I suspect that crazy woman Night Owl might not be dead."

"Or the Association used her genes and memories to create an even more terrifying clone or enhanced version, and she's probably there."
