Chapter 6: Storm into St. Andrew’s Private Psychiatric Hospital
Chicago's South Side, St. Andrew's Private Psychiatric Hospital.
This three-story gray building was surrounded by towering wire fences and surveillance cameras.
On the surface, it was a private care facility for psychiatric patients.
In reality, it was the Romano family's prison.
At this moment, in the director's office.
A pudgy middle-aged man was on the phone.
His name was Frank, the director of St. Andrew's Private Psychiatric Hospital, and also the warden the Romano family had planted here.
"Mr. Romano, don't worry."
Frank's face was full of flattering smiles. "That woman named Lily, I'm watching her personally. Tonight I'll increase the dosage and make sure she dies quietly in her sleep."
"We'll just say it was a psychiatric episode, cardiac arrest, natural causes."
"Absolutely no way to find any problems."
After hanging up, a flash of malice crossed Frank's eyes.
That woman, Lily, had been locked up here for over a year.
Back then, Alice personally brought her here, giving him strict instructions to keep her locked up until she died.
Originally, Frank had wanted to use his position of power to do something for this beautiful girl.
But Alice's orders were clear—don't touch her, and don't let her die too quickly.
Make her slowly rot here, slowly go insane.
Now, Mario had lost a hand at the Diamond Palace Hotel.
When the news came, the entire Romano family was shocked.
Mario was worried he would come to rescue Lily, so he gave the order in advance—execute her tonight, leave no loose ends.
Frank looked at the pitch-black night outside the window, a cold smile curling at his lips.
This prison was impregnable, with over thirty armed security guards working in shifts around the clock. Even if special forces came, they couldn't easily break through.
One person?
More like coming to die.
"Go bring that woman out."
Frank stood up and ordered the two security guards outside the door, "Take her to the basement, prepare the sedatives. I'll do it myself."
The two guards acknowledged the order and headed toward the underground cells.
A deafening explosion tore through the quiet rainy night.
The tall outer wall made of reinforced concrete crumbled like paper in an instant.
Rubble and muddy water flew everywhere!
An M113 armored personnel carrier, like a steel beast, smashed through the wall with devastating force. Its tracks crushed the debris scattered on the ground as it charged into the hospital's inner courtyard!
Frank stumbled, nearly falling. "What happened?"
Before he could react.
The searchlight on top of the vehicle suddenly blazed to life, its blinding white light illuminating the entire hall like daylight.
"Attack!! Everyone, prepare for combat!"
Frank roared hoarsely while pulling a pistol from his waist.
He was nominally the director, but actually the Romano family's warden at this location.
At his command, over a dozen fully armed "security guards" quickly emerged from every corner of the hospital, skillfully finding cover. Dark gun barrels instantly locked onto the armored beast in the center of the courtyard.
"Listen up, people inside! You're surrounded!"
Frank shouted from behind a pillar, gun raised. "This is Romano family territory! Whoever you are, shut off your engine and surrender now! Or we'll shoot to kill!"
His words had barely finished.
The top hatch of the armored vehicle slowly opened.
Leo, dressed in an impeccable black suit, rose from inside the vehicle, then leaped down, landing steadily on the stone slabs crushed by the tracks.
With both hands in his pockets, he swept his indifferent gaze over the dense gun barrels surrounding him. "The Romano family's dogs really are everywhere."
Frank's pupils contracted sharply.
He recognized this person.
The surveillance footage from the Diamond Palace Hotel had already spread throughout the entire Romano family.
This was the young man who had crippled Mario's hand and publicly declared war on the entire Romano family!
"It's you!"
Frank screamed. "Fire! Fire at him! Kill him!!"
However, four dark figures had already flashed out from the armored vehicle.
Olivia fired both guns, precise shots, each bullet taking a life.
The other three Shadow team members moved like ghosts through the hail of bullets, killing at close range.
In less than thirty seconds.
Over a dozen armed security guards all lay on the ground.
None survived.
Frank was scared out of his wits and turned to flee.
But Olivia grabbed him by the collar, lifting him like a chicken and bringing him before Leo.
"Sir, this person should be the one in charge here."
"Where's Lily?"
Leo looked down at Frank, who had collapsed on the ground, his voice ice-cold.
"I... I don't know any Lily..."
Frank's teeth chattered as he tried to lie.
Before he could finish, Leo had already lifted his foot and stepped on his right hand.
The sound of finger bones shattering was clearly audible.
"Ah!"
Frank let out a scream.
"I'll ask one more time."
Leo's foot slowly applied more pressure. "Where's Lily?"
"The... the basement! B2 level! Cell number seven!"
Frank wailed out the answer.
Leo lifted his foot and gave Olivia a look.
Olivia understood and rushed toward the basement with two team members.
Just then.
"Nobody move!"
A rough, angry roar came from outside.
Immediately after, over a dozen police cars roared up, surrounding the entire building.
A burly middle-aged man led over twenty fully armed police officers charging in.
"I'm Carter Blake, Chief of the Chicago Police Department's South Side Division!"
He pointed his service weapon, staring fiercely at Leo. "You're suspected of illegal entry, intentional homicide, possession of military weapons, and multiple other serious crimes! Put down your weapons now, hands on your head, squat down where you are!"
"Otherwise, I have the right to shoot you on the spot!"
Carter.
Chief of Chicago's South Side Division, and also an important piece of the Romano family had planted in the police force.
Tonight, after the incident at the Diamond Palace Hotel, he received a call from the Godfather immediately.
The order was simple—stop that man named Leo at all costs.
Whether by arrest or killing, absolutely don't let him continue causing trouble.
At this moment, seeing the bodies scattered on the ground and that shocking military armored vehicle, Carter couldn't help but feel uneasy.
This young man could single-handedly break into a black prison and slaughter over a dozen armed security guards.
He was definitely not ordinary.
But he had no choice.
The Romano family's orders could not be disobeyed.
Over twenty police officers quickly spread out, surrounding Leo and the Shadow team.
Dark gun barrels aimed at everyone in the field.
"You police are also the Romano family's dogs?"
Leo turned around, his back to Carter, looking toward the ruins. "Chicago's sky really is completely dark."
"You're asking for death!"
Carter was completely enraged by this contempt and raised his gun to pull the trigger.
At that moment.
"Everyone, stop!!"
A black Cadillac sedan suddenly charged into the perimeter. Before the car had stopped, the door was already pushed open.
A middle-aged white man in a gray suit stumbled out.
This person was none other than the CIA Chicago station chief—Marcus White.
Five minutes ago, he had received an encrypted call from Washington.
The caller was the CIA Director himself.
Just one sentence: "Get to St. Andrew's Private Psychiatric Hospital immediately. There's someone there you can't afford to mess with. No matter what happens, don't obstruct him. Do you hear me—no matter what!"
After the call ended, Marcus was completely stunned.
He had worked his way up through the intelligence world for twenty years and had never heard his director speak in that tone.
It was clearly fear.
The CIA Director was afraid of one person?
