Chapter 7
Nova arrived at the stadium with her personal assistant, security, and her full entourage in tow. Including a new manager that her father and Holt had found for her. She was wearing a black leather bodysuit with shoulder spikes, matching heels, and aviator glasses. Her long black hair with thick purple streaks, peeking out from underneath, flowed as she walked.
Becket looked up, shaking his head in annoyance when his eyes met her flaunting down the hall. He nudged his Colossal member, Ace. "Look at this shit. Fucking prima-donna rockstar."
Ace looked over his shoulder, pushing his sunglasses down his nose. "She might be a spoiled brat, but she's hot as hell."
"It takes more than a pretty face to win me over, Ace. I give it a week or maybe two. She'll get bored and go on to something else. Holt wants me to train her."
"You're kidding?" the man asked with a chuckle.
"Nope. She has no idea what she is in for. Daddy's little girl is about to have a very rude awakening. The reality of this little game she's playing is about to bite her on the ass." Becket threw a stick of gum in his mouth and turned away just as Nova approached.
"Well. If it isn't the infamous, Becket Knox. I haven't seen you since you left WEC," Nova boasted, flipping her long locks over her shoulder.
"Damn it," Becket said under his breath, gritting his teeth. Turning back to her, he reached out to shake her hand. "Nova."
She looked down at his hand, smirking at his gesture. "Save it, Beck. I already know you don't want me here. I guess you don't have as much backstage pull as you thought. Daddy told me all about you're ranting and raving to stop this from happening." She looked sternly at him, waiting for an explanation.
Becket's face turned red with anger as he stepped nose-to-nose with her. "Listen up, princess. Your daddy's pull with Holt, and your celebrity status, only worked to get you here. Once in that ring you'll need to prove to the fans that you belong here. Even harder will be to convince the roster you are one of the team. I'm sure you already have heat with them since you come in with your little entourage, acting like a big shot. Don't forget, I have the say if you wrestle or not. You might just stand there in the background behind my Colossus team, like the goth barbie you are, waiting for your nails to dry."
"Goth barbie? Wow. That's a new one. The fans will love me. They already do. Becket, sweetie... I forgot. I brought you a gift." She reached in her purse and pulled her hand back out, flipping him off. "Like it or not, I'm here to stay. I've been through more shit than you can imagine getting where I am today. I've dealt with tougher things than you can dish out, or anyone here could throw at me. When you deal with sharks, you become one," she snapped, crossing her arms over her chest, glaring at him.
Her entourage giggled as she walked away. The team of her staff followed her to the locker room like a row of ducks, while Becket just shook his head in disbelief. She had a rude awakening coming if she thought he would ever bow down to her as those people did.

Nova went into her private locker room and headed straight to the attached restroom to be alone. Looking in the mirror at her reflection, she hated what she saw. There was fear behind her sad blue eyes, and she wondered if she was the only one that saw it. Nova felt awful about how she was already being perceived by other wrestlers, not to mention how she talked to Becket was bothering her. Nova knew enough about Becket to realize how serious he was about his work and getting his approval was going to take work.
Tears pooled at the corner of her eyes as she looked at herself in the mirror. She noticed how people were watching at her on the way in. They all thought she wasn't worthy of this. Nova felt if they won't give her a chance, she will give them the bitch they expect her to be.
A knock came to the door, and she jumped out of her thoughts, quickly wiping the tear that almost rolled down her cheek.
"Nova, It's Dad. Pumpkin, open up."
She slowly exited the room and threw her arms around him. Looking around for her staff, they were all gone from the dressing room thinking her father probably asked them to step out.
"They all hate me," she cried, laying her head on Eric's shoulder, trying to hold back tears.
Her assistant Claire came over, soothing her by rubbing her back. "I sent everyone else out to the hall. I thought you needed some space."
Eric smiled at the younger girl with a nod. "I heard about your first meeting with Beck. It didn't go so well, huh? Baby, I told you this wouldn't be easy. This is Powerbomb Global, not some swanky Hollywood party. You need to tone it down."
"I know. I just wish Becket would have at least given me a chance before he judged me."
"Prove him wrong. Hell, prove them all wrong. I keep seeing my little girl down deep in there, but this chip you have on your shoulder will kill your career. I don't know what happened to you and I'm worried. Right now, that doesn't matter. You need to get ready for your performance. The show starts in thirty minutes. Sweetie, I got you here, but the rest is up to you." Eric hugged her close, hoping this went well.
"Thanks, Daddy. I'm going to warm up. Is the band ready?"
Eric shook his head yes.
"Okay. Well, guess it's time to make history."
