Chapter 108 Chapter 108
Chapter 108 Chapter 108
Celine's POV:
The next day, I set off to leave for Edwin's hotel directly instead of going to my Restaurant first. Kaleb and I wore a pair of red top and black skirt and trousers, featuring black polished shoes.
"Wow! The hotel is so big!" Kaleb said, as I drove my car into the hotel's parking. I was stunned, seeing the hotel was a luxury five-star hotel.
"Wow!" I gasped too, just as my son and I got out of the car.
The day was Thursday, and surprisingly, the hotel's car park was filled.
"Who owns all these cars? I thought Edwin said that his hotel's launch is tomorrow? Does that mean that his hotel is already functioning?" I asked myself, as I strolled ahead to the entrance of the hotel with my son.
A hotel staff in a white top and black trousers rushed up to meet me.
"Welcome, Ma'am. How can I assist you?" asked the man, who was taller than me.
"Hi. We came here to see Mr. Edwin Enzo. Is he around?" I asked, taking in the luxury view of the hotel's lobby. It was more luxurious and beautiful compared to any hotel that I had seen before. Even when I first arrived at Banana Island with Kaleb, the hotel wasn't as luxurious as this, as I had looked for a decent, less luxurious hotel.
"My boss? Do you have an appointment with him?" The hotel staff, who was a young man, asked.
"Well, yes. We have a partnership, and I already told him that I will be here. Where's your boss's office? Or let me call him," I said, holding my son's hand as I let go of his hand and took down my bag.
The hotel staff smiled and said, "My boss is a little busy with the hotel launch this Saturday. But you can still give him a call or meet with the receptionist if he is available to see you," he gestured to the large counter, and I smiled.
"I will just call him." After fishing out my phone, I placed a call to Edwin.
Despite his busy work schedule, Edwin answered my call on the second ring.
"Hello," his deep voice said.
"Hi, this is Ann. Actually, I arrived at your hotel, and I saw that everywhere was crowded more than I expected. I thought you said you are organizing the launch party this Saturday?" I asked him, and he laughed.
"Yeah, I am. The hotel already accepted a few lodging and accommodations since some people couldn't wait until Saturday. It's just a launch party and to partner with the media to create more awareness. But my hotel is already taking reservations and accommodation since the beginning of this month," Edwin concluded, and I sighed.
"Alright. So are you free for us to sign the contract and for me to take a look at your kitchen?" I asked, to which he replied calmly, "Just a moment. I will be with you soon."
"Okay," I replied, and the call ended.
A tall man came to meet me and asked, "Hello, excuse me, Ma'am. Are you Ms. Ann Mason? I am Jasper, Mr. Edwin's assistant." He offered me a handshake, and I accepted it with a friendly smile on my face.
"I am."
"Come with me. My boss requests that I bring you and your son to the top floor," Jasper said, and before I could reply, my phone rang, and seeing that Edwin was calling, I answered his call.
"Hello."
"I sent my assistant to bring you. Have you seen him, his name is Jasper?"
"Yes, he's with me now."
"Alright. I will be expecting you. I'm sorry the meeting is taking longer. Just a few media partners that I am collaborating with," Edwin apologized, his voice gentle.
"It's okay. I will be expecting you. Or your assistant can show me the kitchen first, let me have a look, before I come up to your office," I said, and Edwin agreed. "Alright."
Jasper's phone rang after my call with Edwin ended. After speaking to his boss, he turned to face me and said, "Come with me, Ma'am."
Jasper led me to the kitchen of this hotel. It was beautiful, and I was impressed by the modern style of the kitchen as I met the chef in charge.
"This is Mrs. Freya Samuel. She is in charge of the cooking here," Jasper introduced me to Freya.
"It's nice to meet you, Ma'am. I'm the owner of Ann's Restaurant," I said, as I accepted Freya's hand for a handshake. Although she wore gloves and was a middle-aged woman.
"Wow!" Her eyes widened in shock, and she commented. "I wasn't expecting the owner of Ann's Restaurant to be a beautiful woman like you. It's nice to meet you, Ma'am. Your meals are the talk of the whole town."
"Thank you," I smiled as Jasper showed me further into the kitchen. After that, Jasper, my son, and I went to the top floor, using the built-in elevator.
"Mom, I'm thirsty," Kaleb said, as he was already exhausted from the little strolling we had. Luckily, I grabbed a bottle of water from my bag and presented it to him before Jasper led us to Edwin's office.
I saw some top musicians who were also invited to Edwin's office. I cannot believe how influential Edwin was and seeing how these artists respected him.
I smiled, recalling Jace, who was a politician and very influential too.
Snapping out of my trance, I waited on the guest chair with my son for Edwin to round up his meeting.
Justin came out of the office and rushed to hug me. "Good afternoon, Auntie!"
"Hi, Justin. How are you doing today?" I asked Justin, after hugging him back.
Justin grinned, looked at Kaleb, who was already tired. But because Kaleb saw Justin, he brightened up and grasped my right arm possessively.
"I'm fine, Aunt. Hello, Kaleb. It's nice to see you around. Do you want to take a look at the kids' play room? We can play some games," Justin tried to be friendly with my son. But Kaleb shook his head.
"No."
"Why? You'll like it. There are many kids' games there. We can race together or play action games. Or what kind of game do you like?"
Kaleb gently let go of my hand and looked at Justin.
"I don't play games."
"Huh!" Justin looked shocked instead of getting sad that Kaleb doesn't want his company.
"You're lying. It's fine if you don't want to play with me. I will let you be. Bye!" Justin ran off back and went back into Edwin's office.
I sighed, looked at my son, who remained silent.
"Do you want to go and play with him? You can trust him," I asked, but Kaleb refused.
"No. I don't like games. I prefer watching movies," he said.
"You should have told him what you like. Chasing him away isn't good," I lectured Kaleb, and he frowned.
"I'm sorry, Mom."
"It's alright."
A few minutes later, Edwin personally came out of his office, as he donned a white shirt and black trousers.
"I'm sorry for keeping you waiting, Ann. I hope you're not angry with me," Edwin said, his lips curled up in a warm smile.
"No, I'm not. It's a pleasure coming to your hotel."
"Thank you. So since Jasper has shown you to the kitchen, what are your thoughts?" He asked, as he came and stood in front of me.
I rose to my feet, and Kaleb did the same, greeting Edwin, "Good afternoon."
"How are you, Kaleb?" Edwin asked, extending a handshake to my son.
Kaleb mumbled, "I'm fine."
"Good. Why didn't you play games with Justin? He said you don't like games," Edwin said, paying attention to my son.
"He watches movies often," I stepped in.
"I know. I see him at your office, always watching cartoons. Anyway, I have cinemas for kids to watch too, on the third floor," Edwin said.
"Alright. Maybe some other time. So about the deal, here's the contract my lawyer helped me to draft," I fished out the contract and handed it over to Edwin.
Edwin took a glance at it, and his lips curled up in a handsome smile.
"It's nice. I will sign it, and you can sign. Come in," Edwin led me into his office, and I was amazed at his vast workspace.
However, I stilled when I saw an image of Edwin and Jace in his office. The oil painting was very large in his office, and as soon as my gaze landed on it, I hastily looked away, but I could feel my heart beat skyrocketing.
