Chapter 29: Claiming the three alphas
Zia
The moment he parked in front of my house, I didn’t wait an extra second before jolting out of the car. After all, I already said my thank you in the only way he knew how to appreciate.
I wanted to be angry at him because of how all his thoughts only ever led to a blowjob, but he had saved me when I thought no one would.
On that note, I decided to forgive him.
I stomped my legs up the front porch to the front of the door, but the moment I wrapped my fingers around the metal of the doorknob, an inexplicable chill spread through my body from that point of contact.
A bad premonition rose in my heart as I turned the knob.
Regardless of what awaited me inside, this was home.
“You bitch!”
Pa!
The harshness of the slap was just as loud as the screech of her voice.
Regardless of how prepared I was for the worst, getting attacked by a banshee in the form of my stepsister was the last thing I was prepared for.
A confrontation, yes, but full blown domestic violence?
That just went on to show how much today’s incident affected her.
Thinking back, I should have given Cain another blowjob just to make this whole experience worth it.
I palmed my cheek and the heat warmed my initially cold palms immediately.
Bitch, slap her back! Gina groaned in my head. I wish I could, my eyes glistened through the smile as I replied her, because as angry as I was, I didn’t know how to take action even though she had just demonstrated it for me.
“You are still smiling? I will make your life a living hell. You’ll regret it!” She dragged me inside, or at least made an attempt to, but then let go of my arm after her efforts proved to be futile.
“Come inside!” she screamed as she pushed the door open.
On a normal day, I would have smiled even wider at the VIP treatment of holding the door for me, but when I saw her mother and then looked down at Celine’s leg to see she was still wearing her sneakers from school, which meant she just got home.
And that meant something worse for me. She had clearly just offloaded the whole thing, which meant...
I also noticed that she wasn’t gloating about the ones Tyler had gotten me, neither was she wearing them to show off. Celine will never be humble, but this was the last place to worry about lost shoes and their new fate.
“You cursed bitch, you can at least just stay useless. Do you really have to hog all the blessings of this family? Was killing your mother already not enough!” Her mother stabbed her words directly at me.
Hitting where it hurt the most and directly draining me of all the internal validation I had from her daughter.
“Don’t talk about my mother like that!” It hurt but I would never stay lying in a place where my sweet loving mother was mentioned badly.
“I’m not cursed and I didn’t kill her!”
“Lie to yourself all you want but I need you to explain to your family why you didn’t tell us that the three alphas were your mates? When you clearly knew how much your sister loved Third Alpha Cain.”
Well first off, I wasn’t the one who chose them as my mates, but most importantly...
“How did you know?” I asked in a low tone as I turned to look at Celine gloating at the side, then my mind went back to this afternoon right before the chaos exploded.
“Joyce?” I muttered to myself, the frown not leaving my face. But how did Joyce know? It didn’t make any sense, but the truth was obvious.
Out in the air for everyone to see. What should have made me proud and worthy of envy suddenly made me want to find a place to hide. Like my dirty linen had been exposed.
“What? Cat got your tongue?” Celine folded her arms across her chest, a smile tugging at the corner of her lips, as she danced her upper body to no sound of music but the mystery she was enjoying putting me in.
“I...”
“Destroy the mate bond!” Her mom said and my head snapped towards her just in time for thunder to rumble on the outside.
Everything I had was always snatched out of my hands.
Everything, from my dad to my mom.
I looked at her defiantly and remembered the smile on her face as my mother was lowered into the grave.
She didn’t pretend to mourn. Instead her gloat was on full display throughout. I would never forget that and I would get my revenge but until then, I wouldn’t let her snatch my mates. Not when my father and everything I inherited from my mom was already in their hands.
“No!” I suddenly felt a sort of control in me.
This was not just a request. It was a plead from the mother and daughter for me to leave something out for them. The ball was in my court.
“Wait a second, what do you mean?” Her mother asked, but she wasn’t looking at me, she was looking at her daughter.
“Third Alpha Cain is her mate, why did you say all?” she asked and I paused to watch some sort of drama unfold.
Looks like she didn’t know the full gist.
But before her daughter could reply, I took the mantle, enjoying the sight of color draining from her face.
“All three of them are my mates,” her eyes widened but I wasn’t done.
