Chapter 9: 9: Alpha of Alphas
It was dark and I sure felt empty. I couldn't control my body or what was left. I felt a vibranting sensation within me that took control over my body from head to toe until I was almost knocked off.
What's happening!?
In panic, I struggle.
The frame opened, like reality birthing itself and I found myself standing close to a coffee shop which seems familiar to me but I don't know anywhere and find that strange for it to be familiar.
My legs ache a little that I couldn't move but stood still at a spot when my eyes caught the sight of something or rather someone I wasn't expecting to see.
'Derek?...how did he get here, how did I get here?' I thought as I stood still staring at him without saying a word like I had gone mute.
I didn't move because I couldn't which made me felt like I was being trapped in a video game without rules because everyone else was moving aside me.
It felt as though if wasn't real but I could see clearly that it was and at the same time more like I was in a trance or vision.
Derek had one of the most offensive disapproving facial expressions that I have ever seen or would ever see as he fixed his straight gaze at me with so much disgust on his face, more like hate. We just met but he never looked at me like that.
" You are playing with fire" he said in a calm tone which was surprisingly clear and audible to me despite the fact that he was sitting in the coffee shop and I was outside.
His words made me wonder it I was in another universe which also I don't believe exist or can ever exist.
I managed to take a step backwards and was stopped almost immediately by an unseen force as a glimpse of Jane's figure from afar distracted my attention from Derek who still had his gaze on me.
"What is this all about, Jane...Jane is here too?" I asked historically, looking more confused this time as I felt another quick jolt of electricity over my whole body.
I closed my eyes and waited. Hopefully it should be gone when I open the back but it didn't. I found Jane standing right in front of me with a serious look on her face, she was really close to my face that I might have felt her large forehead on mine.
My heart literally shook from it usual position, I could feel it going down my stomach.
'bgrish!' was the next sound I heard on my face which sent my head going blank for a second or two, landing to the ground straight backwards like a log of wood.
She came closer to me on the floor and then raised her first up again which made me realize why I had fallen, her fist felt like it was made of iron.
"Noooo!" I let out a scared sound as I woke up with a start, it was just a dream....what a dream.
" It was just a dream, just a silly dream" I said to myself in a low tone of voice and then turn around to notice another person's presence in my room.
"Hey Luna, how was your rest....did you had enough rest?" Alice's voice made me relax a little as I begin to wonder how she got into the room.
Alice seem to be jolly this morning, compared to the last time I saw her yesterday when she was taken away.
" Oh, I came in when you were still asleep" she said sensing that I was wondering how she got in or why she came in.
I managed to nod slightly as I sat up on the bed to listen to what she had to say.
"Alpha Derek ordered that I bath the Luna,I have made your water and food to eat ready....just after you so I can show you around when you are done eating" she said smiling trying to look innocent which I wasn't really buying.
It seem like everything was all a act because I don't believe her and still don't know why I don't. But bath me?! I am not a child. I feel like she is being sent to monitor me or something.
I just felt like I shouldn't trust her or neither anyone here, since Jane came to my dream to hit the shit out of my head.
If it wasn't in a dream I would have taken a painkiller drug immediately if not the whole of it
Something was really not right in the atmosphere and probably fake which was her permanent smile and looks of excitement.
"will prepare myself a meal instead" I said after a short while of silence and staring at her coldly
I stood up to the bathroom while she followed immediately like she was going to bath me.
"Luna Elena.....how are you feeling today?" Alice voiced by the door way holding a big towel tight to her chest more like she was hugging it.
"I'm fine, very much " I said calmly before entering the tub and that was end of discussion for me.
After a while bathing, I decided to go make myself breakfast since I was starving but don't want to eat from the already made food my her.
" Do you have any idea why yesterday was dangerous for me?" I asked emotionlessly looking at her.
"I'm sorry, I'm really sorry Luna Elena....it was the half moon and I should have been protecting you yesterday and not what I did" she said feeling sorry for herself since I wasn't hurt.
She seems to be more hurt than I should have been if I was caught by any shifting wolf, she went low to kneel down as she tendered her apology.
The atmosphere change abit to some kind of an awkward one for me since I wasn't use to royalty.
I pulled her aside and continued with my cooking which appears to be the only sincere thing in my mind at the moment.
I had nothing against her obviously, she stood up and immediately took in a long sniff of the air and exhaled in satisfaction with a bright smile smile in her face.
"You cook so well, mom said only Witches are good cooks like you" she said with a slight giggle, cheerfully smiling at me.
There was a sound of footstep on the door way like the person has been there for awhile, I looked up to find Derek with a very plain face.
He Walked in while the discussion was going to another level, Alice stopped talking for a while as we gave attention to him but still without looking his way.
I watched him from the corner of my eyes and I could see that Alice was slightly shaking in fear as he walked pass her.
'what a boss' I thought as he looked my way almost immediately and I looked away instantly feeling like he must have heard what I said which was in my mind.
Well, I didn't see how possible it would be but I wish I could read his mind to know what he has for me next aside just keeping me.
He went around the kitchen and then to the cupboard to open it, close it and open it again before finally taking out a cup he probably doesn't need with the way his gaze was fixed on me could tell that he just wanted to see what I was doing.
I looked his way and found him still staring at me like he wanted to know what I was thinking about, he turned his gaze when he noticed mine.
He walked away in silence like he didn't want to have anything to do with us.
" Witches had lived peacefully in our pack when Rex was still beta after his father " Alice said immediately Derek was out of the door and also out of sight like she has been waiting for him to go.
" Where was Derek as at then, was he around the pack or some other pack?" I asked impatiently finding out that I had suddenly gain interest in her story.
" No, not another pack but he was in the human world going after women probably" she said with a quick chuckle as she sat on a stool beside her.
Pffft.
He already look like the womanizing type.
" Do you know my father was an Alpha who got killed by Alpha Zane?" She asked looking abit sad which made me felt like it was more than a question but a statement too.
I felt bad for her almost immediately but couldn't show sympathy properly since I was still paranoid from my odd dream.
"Alpha Zane was Derek's father....who killed mine" she said sadly as she stare blankly at the pot I was cooking with.
I didn't know what to say or how to feel as I stood there watching her say what seem to be a piece of her heart to me.
I swallowed softly and imagine if the food won't be able to pass through my throat after listening to her story which wasn't 100% possible with the extent of my hunger.
" Today is the 23rd anniversary of his death" she said again looking abit certain as she flashed me a smile which made me had doubt of her main aim or her story.
Okay, she wants me to say something.
