Chapter 59: 59: Yes, he loves you... But
Days went by and the bite on my neck had healed faster than I had expected.
I sat alone in my room, dining with me, myself and I when the thought of Derek flashed in my head and I paused for awhile to process it carefully.
'Maybe not now' I thought watching the closed door and then my half empty plate before hurriedly stuffing the rest into my busy mouth.
The empty plates laid on the table, neatly arranged while I found a possible way to sneak out to Rex's.
My unstable body got settled few meters away from the door post where I exhaled and inhaled audibly several times to be calm.
"Good day Luna Elena" two young male wolves greeted in unism immediately my room door revealed my face.
My eyes followed them slowly, not willing to leave sight of them soon, for a reason unknown to me.
'I just hope there won't be more to that soon' I thought, responding with a smile, and closing the door behind me.
The walkway seem surprisingly deserted, no one stood or sat close toy room door just like other days.
My slim toes tipped pass three closed doors, I stopped on feeling too sneaky to shake the fear off me.
In no time, I was at the beginning of the walkway where the workers seem to have responded to tons of greetings from the workers and other wolves in the chamber.
"Where do you tend to head towards, Luna Elena?" A male servant called out to me from a small distance, he seems to be more protective than Derek himself.
" Derek knows about it" I stated in a toneless manner and left for Rex's in silence, avoiding any other questions that might want to be thrown at me.
Rex's cottage looks more calm and different from any other day, no one way around his entrance or surrounding like he other day, something felt different....if not awkward.
"Knock, knock" I micknicked the sound softly coming from my hand on the door, the whole place stood still and it felt like silence had descended from above.
The cottage remained silent, not even a pin sound coming from within the room, Rex must have been really busy with something.
'Prepare to be amazed' I thought smiling, with uncertainty as my impatient hands pushed the door slowly, making no sound with it.
I walked into the quiet, partially empty room, looking around and then towards the table when a piece of neatly placed paper got my attention.
'I'm sorry, I had to leave Lena' I read unheard as my gaze remained fixed on note which must have been purposely kept for me.
"Wha... Rex...you left...buh why?" I starmmered, slowly going down on my knees as I uncontrollably broke down in tears, holding tightly to the paper like I was expecting Rex to pop and from it and tell me why he left.
"Hahaha, how funny....this is sa...d" Derek's voice came from an unknown direction, sarcastically.
"Derek, what do you want....what are you doing here?" I asked dryly like I was expecting him to show up, scared and angry, I stopped up to look around with haste.
Derek's voice now seem to be in all angles and coming from all directions of the sitting room, as I turned around swiftly each time the tone of his laughter increased.
"Show yourself, show yourself you son of a bitch!" I screamed furiously, breathing heavily as my gaze traveled from one angle of the room to another.
"I'm in your head darling, not necessarily present to find you" he responded in an affirmative tone,
I groaned and rolled my eyes at my mental picture of the smirk on his face, he laughed again mischievously and cleared his throat like he had an important part of his speech coming right up.
"Rex had to leave baby girl, he can't stand it and I'm aware of your love story...it's sad he ran away" he mentioned and a bell rang in my ear, making me more interested than ever.
"I know Rex loves me, and I love him too, he would return" I screamed in rage, not sure of what came out of my mouth but it was time to tell Derek what he doesn't want to hear.
"Yes, he loves you...but how pathetic, he should be here, right?...but too bad, he's not" he teased, taking a deep breath, audibly and continued.
"We are together, connected remember? That.." His voice came out seriously than I had expected he would sound in such an annoying situation.
"What do you mean by that?" I curiously fired at him, not giving him time to completely finish his statement.
"Oh you won't remember but I would do you the favour of reminding you" he paused, giving me time vent my anger on the remaining things in Rex's cottage.
"That bite made us linked, enable me to can read your minds, read emotions and make the love between us grow stronger" he explained.
I felt violated and silly, looking staring into space, not sure of where I should concentrate in all the tension I was facing at the moment.
"You bastard!" I yelled, raging, as a flower vase was sent flying across the room by the force coming out of my as soon as hand waved close to the table.
"SHUT UP!, you animal..." I ordered him, holding my hurting stomach as I sat down on the floor, crying.
Rex was gone and I have the annoying Alpha Derek to face all by myself, my heart ached on remembering that Rex is no longer with me.
The room became silent again, Derek had stopped talking which means he must have gone out of my head.
'I'm coming over' I thought purposely, knowing that he would be reading my mind too.
The line ony chin tightened and my face darkened, my eyes seem bigger than it usual size from crying, surprisingly short period of time and my eyes got swollen.
I hurried rubbed the tears off my face and left for Derek's chamber, marching with anger.
I closed the door behind me and saw Seth smiling dryly at, he took a slight bow and came closer.
"I haven't seen Alice yet...I will try better next time, I'm sorry about that my Luna" he said putting his hand akimbo, how words sounding meaningful to me.
My eyes stared into his in silence, nothing seem to be coming toy head as a response to his attempt.
"I have this obsessiveness to find Rowena for you, what have you done to me?" His brows rose immediately those words left his mouth, his eyes serious and fixed.
I rolled my eyes in raw frustration, unaware of what he has to say or to accuse me of.
"Where is Derek" I asked, sounding impatient.
"I left him in your room some minutes ago" he answered in robot mood and shook his head slowly before giving me a questioning look.
I left him standing by himself close to Rex's cottage.
