Chapter 11: Brothers

I wanted to beg but I don't know what to even beg for. Deep down, I feel like Derek deserves something worse but I don't want to be too quick to judge.

"Hmmmm!"

Rex sounded as he took a deep breath before shining a smile down back to me. It soundes like a low growl, and I love it. Weird.

I took few steps backwards to see what was really up with him or what he was up to.

His words got me confused, feeling suspicious and curious that I leaned forward to him again to see if he was really serious.

"You see me ready to do something stupid? " He asked "I am not stupid" He added.

  He  gave me an assuring smile he was sure of what he just said which got me thinking that there might be a problem sooner or later.

It was clear to me that both Rex and Derek are not at peace with each other and maybe nothing or nothing yet can change that. Even that, the look on Rex's face was different. It was like he doesn't want problem and crave problem at the same time.

The calmness of his smile made me understand that he never wanted to hurt his brother but he still wants what was his. Like it was some kind of necessary evil.

"Why do you hate your brother now?" I said calmly watching his every body language and reaction to know how much he does hate Derek.

" I don't hate him, he just disgusts me and I..i just want to rip him apart and end all of this once and for all" he said coldly accompanied with a smile that made him looked more evil than Derek would ever look.

That sinister smirk, like he already has a master planned devious drama.

I stared at him transfixed not knowing what to say or do at this point in time.

" Hello?" He said gently waving his left hand over my face to bring me back to reality.

"I was only joking, not anything like that..." Rex assured as he smile again, although the smile looks fake this time but it appears so good to be fake.

I smiled back too and took a deep breath before leading him by the hand to seat somewhere to talk more.

" You know, I feel empty this days.... really, especially having a weird and disturbing dream" I said few seconds we sat down, his eyes widened abit as I could hear the sadness in my own voice.

" What dream is this Elena?" He asked looking more interesting in what I was saying like his stay in the pack depends on it.

" It was all about Derek and also a girl I saw in the human world some days ago, I don't really know her or who she is but she attacked me in the dream and Derek....." I paused feeling more confused as I thought of what it could mean.

"Relax, it would be ok...no matter what Derek did to you, he can't hurt you" he said and I turned sideways to see him clearly, I didn't even mention what Derek did and he is up against him already.

"You know I dreamt of seeing him in a coffee shop and it seem so familiar to me like I had been there before or I have seen him before now" I said looking up into his eyes like I was searching for my answers there.

" You might have seen him there before now since he spent more time working there" Rex said trying to make a sense that wasn't easy for me since I don't really remember anything about myself.

"If Derek was in charge, why did he still spend much time in the human world and not here?" I asked out of curiosity that was eating me up.

He raised his shoulders and hands side ways up with his mouth bent to  a corner of his face and also bent his head a little to notice he left.

Rex looked abit funny with the  gesture he was putting on,my sadness didn't allow me laugh but I chuckled softly enough for only me hear.

He pointed to his left, right and then towards a tree not too far from us, I followed his hands immediately with my eyes to catch every detail of what I don't know yet.

" Those are security cameras, he brought technology back home when he came back from the human world" he said and my eyes widened like I was just hearing about security cameras for the first time.

"Didn't you notice it?" He asked sounding abit concerned as he gave me a shock facial expression since it seem like the camera must have been out for a long time now.

" I'm always in my room and I don't get to see outside often" I said defending myself, and I could hear myself sounding really innocent.

" Will you help me escape, please?" I pleaded with my Palms placed together as I waited for his response.

Rex sighed.

He looked defeated and strong-willed at the same time.

" Escape from my brother or my brother and I?" He asked as if to be sure before he would say yes.

He seems like he had wanted me to ask that question before now. He was looking at me the same way he stared at me at the club, the first day he met me. His gaze fixed, expressionless and most expressive at the same time.

" I don't know if I have one but I want to go home, I don't know anything about me,my life...I'm not just getting it right especially when I'm here, I don't know how my family must be feeling right now" I said in midst of tears as my oceaneyes was getting blinded with tears.

"Please help me, you would right?" I asked to be sure he was on my side as I hugged him heartedly as more tears rolls down my cheeks.

I don't care about being for them or their stupid curse shit, I want out. They could be mentally damaged, I don't know. Moreover, if I can really penetrate someone to escape, I don't mind using Rex. He will get over it, I am certain.

I noticed Rex was mute, he must have been touched by my little sermon or maybe just thinking of what to do. He was was in my show, he would do the same. Every normal person with a lick of sense would do the same and run!

His body was rigid, like he was a shy person around women. Still looking up at his face to catch any shift in emotions, I hugged him tight like I was going to strangle him. It was an uneasy risk so I faked a giggle which made him smile with an exhale that sent few of my hair flying as he hugged me back.

Grrrrrrrl

We were having our moment when I heard it. Growling.

There seemed to be a werewolf behind us, growling. Almost immediately Rex tossed me aside and before I knew it...he had shifted into his wolf form and went for the other wolf in front of us.

His bones cracked, it must be painful. Maybe not.

I watched in silence how two brothers got into an heated fight, it became fierce that I didn't know what else to do other than standing and watching.

Growling. Launching at each other and listening to what sounds like slash and snappish sounds.

Okay, this is getting out of hand.

"Guys! Please stop fighting, you won't gain anything from it....you both are brothers please " I said.

I was scared for myself. I don't care about them, I just want out of this hell.

"Derek? " I assumed it would be his wolf "This is absolutely stupid! You guys are brothers for crying out loud! "

It was as if my voice wasn't audible enough as they continued with their fight as they advanced into rolling on each other.

" Your parents won't bre happy to see you like this, they would want you to sort your differences and continue being brothers.

On hearing this, Rex stopped to look at me and started shifting to human as he walked up to me looking half human and half animal. I always knew Rex's wolf, his distinguished red eyes looked magnificent.

Not like Derek's wolf. Big too, black, but there was something about his eyes. I couldn't see his face. It looked like he was all black, including his eyes, and it made me feel this void coming from him.

It was dark, real dark.

"Elena, our parents... "

Before he could finish Derek still in his wolf form attacked Rex from behind, it was fast. As soon as Derek bit Into his shoulder right below his neck, Rex roared. Or growled. It was loud!

Rex lades on Derek as they both struggled on who will beat the other and the rest of the fight got tougher.

Looking like a crossbreed of man and wolf, Rex stood in both feets. He took Derek from both limbs and slammed him on his bent kneel.

There was a loud crack sound followed by a piercing screaming from Derek.

I moved closer. What lay on the floor was naked human Derek.

"You bite me? " Rex asked unsure.

I looked closer to see something almost impossible. Rex had almost his full right palm in Derek's chest while his left palm held his neck.

"Tell me why i don't return the favor by ripping your heart out" Rex growled.

I was speechless. First, how is Derek even still alive.

I stood in fear and surprise, I didn't run because I wanted to know what would happen plus I didn't want Derek dead. There was something deep down that wanted to see the outcome.

"Rex please." I gulped.

Rex turns to me. His gaze, red, piercing and yet calm. He looked back at his brother and back at me.

"Don't do it Rex, he is still your brother. You guys will fix it later" I said unsure of the right word.

That helped.

Rex withdrew his hand and shifted to him completely before walking away in silence from where he came from before Derek.

"Fuvk!" Derek let out another shout but this time rolling on the floor, holding his hand as he struggled to get hold of himself.

I stood still like I wasn't able to do anything which was clear there was nothing I could possibly do at moment to make him feel better.

The ruptured part of his hand seem to be looking really bad as he continued growling in pain. His right hand was completely broken, he would need more than a doctor to save that hand.

I heard hurried footsteps towards our direction as the thought of Alice came back to live in my head remembering she has been away for awhile now.

"Oh no" she said in surprise and fear before covering her mouth with her palms as she rushed to Derek still in pain on the floor.

She knelt before him as she cried in fear and I could see her hands trembling as she held his hand looking at it over and over again.

"Alpha Derek what should I do? Your hand is healing slowly...what happened?" she asked sounding ready to do anything for Derek who closed his eyes tight as he held his arm still lying on the floor.

She seems to be sweaty already from the vibration of her body as he shake in fear for Derek as he seems to be very weak.

My head went blank and I didn't know what to say or do at that moment, I just stood there watching her trying to help him.

Where the fuck had she been?
