Chapter 60 Chapter 60

Chapter 60 Chapter 60
“Fuckkk,” he groaned. My body shook as my orgasm tore through me, my body began shaking, and I felt the twitch of his cock in me.
“Fuck,” he came with a groan.

Kai

I was in her bed; she was in my arms. We were both sweaty and just lying in silence.
“That shouldn't have happened; I never intended for this to happen,” I said quietly.
“We were drunk; I still am drunk,” she said with a whisper.

“I should have walked away.”
“Do you regret it already?” She asked, her voice was barely a whisper.
“No, just that I have to leave in a few hours.”

She sat up with the sheets wrapped around her; the moonlight made her look even more beautiful. She turned and looked at me, her eyes staring into mine.
“I…” she started but stopped.

I pulled her into me and took her mouth, kissing her. She returned my kiss when she moaned into my mouth; I knew I wouldn't be able to stop her or myself.
Within minutes she straddled me, and I slid into her, and she moved, her head back, one hand in her hair and the other on her breast. As she moved her hips slowly. This was for her, what she needed.

I cupped her breast as she leaned forward and kissed me as if she was committing every kiss and touch to memory. I flipped her over and slid into her. This wasn't about claiming her; she was already mine. This was what she needed.

She was asleep beside me; I sat up and looked at her. The sky was turning gray; the sun was coming up. I left my mark on her, but not where it could be seen. She marked me too. I didn't want to leave her; I really didn't, but I had no choice. After I signed the papers closing the deal, they decided to take me out, and I agreed because I needed a distraction, but the second I walked into the building, I felt her. I started walking before I even knew then she bumped into me.

When I saw her, my heart did a weird fucking flip, and I took in the sight of her like a thirsty man in a desert having water after a drought. When her friends grabbed her and pulled her away, I walked out. I didn't want to be there anymore. I didn't expect her to come back, and this is where we ended up.

I slid off the bed quietly, making sure she didn't wake up. I wore my clothes and kissed her forehead. She made a life here, a quiet, peaceful, happy life, that didn't involve me. I walked out of the room and headed out. I walked out the front door just as the sun was peeking out. I didn't turn back; I couldn't and didn't trust myself to.

Tessa

I stood by the window watching him walk away; he got into the car and drove off. I let out a breath I didn’t know I was holding in. I was deep in sleep when I felt the light touch on my forehead, then I heard the click. My eyes opened instantly, and I knew he was gone. I watched him leave without turning back.

I wasn't angry at him; I was the one that started it. I did it, and he didn't deny me. This was the way it should be. Both of us living our separate lives. I put it out of my mind and continued with my day. Around eleven there was a knock on the door. I opened the door, and a man was standing there.

“Tessa Jansen?” he asked. He looked like he was the same age as Detective Ryan, with less graying hair and a serious face with watchful eyes. He turned slightly, and I saw the badge.
“I am, are you?” I asked.

“Detective Payne. I need to ask you some official questions and would prefer if we did this down at the local police department. Are you free for that?” he asked.
“Yes, I’m free; I can meet you there right now. But I don't have my Jeep. Would you give me a ride?”
“Of course, I’ll wait for you,” he said before walking back to his SUV.

I closed the door, went to my room, and wore a pair of jeans and a T-shirt. I grabbed my purse and my phone and walked out, locking the door. As I made my way down the walkway, I saw my Jeep driving around the corner. The Jeep pulled up to the curb, and Colt got out.

“I’ve brought her back to you. My fella’s gonna run me on home now.“ He said, nodding towards the other car. I took the keys from him and watched him as he jogged back to the other car. I looked at the detective.
“I’ll follow you.”

He just nodded and got into the car. I got into the jeep and drove off behind him. When we pulled up to the Georgetown Police Department, I was a bit nervous, but I brushed it off.
I walked in with my head held high. I saw Detective Payne talking to the police chief. After a few minutes he motioned for me to follow him. He led me to an interrogation room. Simple, gray, and cold. A desk with two chairs on either side, and the far wall was glass.

“Have a seat, Ms. Jansen,” he said.
I took a seat and waited for him.

PAYNE: So, just to be clear, you’re not under arrest for anything; I just need you to answer some questions.
TESSA: I understand.
PAYNE: great
He opened a file.

PAYNE: You are the daughter of Aurthur Jansen, currently incarcerated for first-degree murder.
TESSA: Correct.

PAYNE: When was the last time you spoke to your father or saw him?
TESSA: The day he killed Gracie Rusland
He looked at me.

PAYNE: Can you repeat that?
TESSA: The last time I spoke to my father was that morning, a few minutes before he killed Gracie Rusland. I was seventeen years old. The last time I saw him was the same morning when the police led him out.

PAYNE: You never visited him?
TESSA: No, that day as the police led him away, he told me to leave, run, never return, and never visit him.

PAYNE: And why did he kill Gracie Rusland? He never said a word after his arrest.
TESSA: If you can tell me exactly what this is about, then I will tell you everything.
He looked at me for a moment as if deciding.

PAYNE: Alex Rusland and his twin, Mark Rusland, are both missing. Did you know they were twins?
TESSA: At first No, I always believed Alex was the only one. It was a few months ago I found out; someone told me.
PAYNE: So why did your father kill her?

I let out a sigh.
