Chapter 55
I hadn't taken Oscar away yet when security backup arrived.
A tall, thin man in a suit looked at me sharply: "This isn't a place where you can come and go as you please."
I never dared forget the kidnapping from three years ago. The man in front of me was the one who called Sophia that day.
Perfect. They're all here. I hadn't found time to look for them yet, but we've run into each other by chance.
The chubby security guard immediately walked over: "Mr. Gonzalez, you're finally here. It's this woman. She brought all these people to cause trouble, and now she wants to kidnap someone right here in the club."
Dennis slowly walked forward, looking at the professional bodyguards in front of me with a hint of disdain at the corner of his mouth: "I'm the security manager of this club. I don't care who you are - taking someone from my club is impossible. We're responsible for every customer."
I slowly stood up and took out my phone: "I didn't know I needed your club's permission to take my own fiancé. Since you put it that way, let's call the police and let them decide whether I should be allowed to take him."
His face grew serious. He paused for a moment, then quickly smiled: "Just because you say he's your fiancé makes him your fiancé? He's a VIP guest at our club. You're trying to kidnap him while he's drunk. If I let you leave, I might as well stop working in Emerald City."
Oscar was already struggling to hold onto the bodyguard supporting him. If this dragged on any longer, his reputation would only suffer more. Without further hesitation, I said to the bodyguards: "Fight your way out."
At my command, the bodyguards struck first and quickly got into a brawl with the security guards.
Once they started fighting, the outcome was obvious. Even in a three-on-one fight, the security guards couldn't gain any advantage. I pulled Oscar to stand on the other side.
Seeing the chaos and not gaining the upper hand, Dennis noticed the commotion was attracting onlookers from other private rooms. To control the situation, he even took out his phone to call the police.
Before he could dial the emergency number, someone rushed over and whispered something in his ear. He reluctantly stepped aside: "Everyone, stop fighting. Zach will handle this. Let them go."
An ambulance was already waiting at the entrance. I got in with Oscar, and the accompanying bodyguard held him tightly until the doctor gave him a sedative injection, and he finally slowly calmed down.
"Do you know what drug it was? How much was the dosage?" the doctor asked while examining Oscar.
I shook my head: "I don't know. When we got there, he'd already lost his mind."
"We'll need to draw blood for testing. I'll draw blood now, but the lab work has to wait until we get to the hospital. For now, I can only give him an IV to boost his metabolism. Looking at the dosage, this might be troublesome." The doctor explained as he drew blood from his arm.
I nodded absently. Even with a doctor present, Oscar's condition clearly wasn't good. I really wanted to know what he'd been through. He just got back - he shouldn't have made enemies with anyone yet. If I'd known, I should have stopped him from attending such social events from the start, in my capacity as his fiancée.
Oscar was admitted to an intensive care VIP room. Only then did I think to let Robert know everything was okay, and while Oscar was still unconscious, handle what I could for him.
It was already past 2 AM. I didn't dare call, so I just sent Robert a message: [I've brought Oscar to the hospital, don't worry.]
Less than five seconds after sending the message, I received a call from Robert: "What's Oscar's situation now? Is he okay? Why did you go to the hospital? Did something happen?"
I quickly reassured him in a low voice: "No, I just brought him for a checkup. He had too much to drink, and he's sleeping now. Don't worry."
I didn't dare tell him the truth.
Robert was clearly relieved: "That's good. You've worked hard too. It's so late, you should rest soon."
After hanging up, looking at Oscar lying in bed with his face still flushed, I called the bodyguard who had just left: "The security manager we saw at the nightclub tonight - find out his identity as soon as possible."
After hanging up, I sent Eugene a message. I didn't know if today's incident was related to him, but since he was the chamber of commerce president, he should know that Boss Chen: "Sorry to disturb you so late. Oscar had an incident at Dragon Rise Club today. I've brought him to the hospital now. Could you please arrange a meeting with the club owner? We need an explanation."
After sending the message, I sat by the bed without any sleepiness, slowly placing my hand on the back of Oscar's hand and gently holding his fingers.
He was still unconscious but clearly uncomfortable. His flushed face was frowning, his body unconsciously curled up, and even though he was covered with a blanket, his erection was still obvious.
He must be really uncomfortable, right?
Oscar's fingers moved. I quickly looked over. If he woke up now, I didn't know if it would be good or bad. With no bodyguards nearby, I immediately abandoned any sympathy for him and quickly decided whether to kick him out first or call the doctor if he made any further moves.
Fortunately, he didn't wake up, just made unconscious moaning sounds. Hearing them made me want to flee, and it was lucky we had a VIP room; otherwise, if others heard, they'd think we were so sexually driven we couldn't even behave in a hospital.
Lying by his bed, I fell asleep without knowing when, until a knock on the door woke me up.
It was already bright outside. I quickly looked at the bed - Oscar was still sleeping, and the redness on his face had faded somewhat. I tried to stand up and realized my limbs were numb.
The doctor came for rounds and recorded various data: "His condition looks much more stable. Make sure he drinks plenty of water after waking up to increase his metabolism. Also, if he's really uncomfortable, you can have sex, just don't be too intense. Other than that, nothing else. He can be discharged."
My face gradually turned red. I nodded randomly while listening to the doctor's instructions. After seeing the doctor out, I saw Oscar slowly opening his eyes: "Emily, I knew you'd definitely come."
I touched my somewhat hot cheeks: "You just woke up? Or did you wake up when the doctor came in?"
Oscar unnaturally touched his nose: "I just... just woke up. Didn't they say I could be discharged? Could you help me with the discharge procedures?"
He clearly woke up when the doctor came in. He didn't dare open his eyes - was he afraid it was all a hallucination?
Or did he think it was too embarrassing?
Then he must have heard that last sentence, too, right?
My face turned red again. Not bothering to argue with him, I quickly lowered my head and responded: "Wait here, I'll go handle the discharge now."
"Emily—" Oscar called out to me when I reached the hospital room door. After hesitating for a while, he asked: "Yesterday... I didn't do anything to you, did I?"
