Chapter 1 The First Sin
My back arched off the bed as his strong hands gripped my thighs, spreading me wider. A low, rough groan filled my ears. He pushed inside me in one slow, thick stroke, stretching me so good it hurt. I whimpered, fingers digging into his shoulders as he started moving, deep and filthy, hitting that spot that made my toes curl.
“Fuck… just like that,” I gasped, even though I knew I shouldn’t be saying those words.
He leaned down, breath hot against my ear. “You’re so wet for me, Abby…”
I was close. So close. My legs started shaking and—
“Abigail Grace Thompson!”
My mother’s voice sliced through the air like a whip.
I slammed the book shut so fast the pages made a loud 'thwack.' My heart slammed against my ribs as I sat up, cheeks burning. The room felt too hot. Between my legs, I was soaked. Actually soaked. The thin fabric of my white panties clung to me, sticky and warm.
Oh God.
“Abby! You hear me, girl?” Mom called again from down the hallway. “It’s almost time for evening fellowship. Get dressed and meet me at the car in ten minutes!”
“Okay mum!” I called back, my voice shaky.
I pressed my thighs together, trying to ignore how sensitive I was. The book — 'Forbidden Desires' — was still warm in my hands. I’d hidden it inside my Bible study notebook like always. Just one chapter, I’d told myself. One chapter before fellowship. Now my body was throbbing and my mind was filthy.
I whispered a quick prayer under my breath.
'Lord, forgive me. I know it’s wrong. Please forgive me.'
I changed into a modest white sundress and brushed my long brown hair into a neat ponytail. My cheeks were still flushed when I climbed into Mom’s car.
She was already waiting, tapping her fingers on the steering wheel.
As soon as I buckled in, she gave me a strange little smile. “Little birds told me tonight’s fellowship has something special in store for us.”
I turned to her, frowning. “What do you mean?”
She shrugged, starting the engine. “I don’t know exactly. Just… be ready. God might be moving tonight.”
The drive to the church was quiet. I kept my hands folded in my lap, trying not to think about the scene I’d just read. But my body hadn’t forgotten. Every bump in the road made me shift uncomfortably.
When we arrived, the chapel was already filling up. The familiar smell of polished wood, old hymn books, and candle wax hit me. I loved this place. I hated how much I loved it while carrying such dirty thoughts.
And then I saw him.
Elijah Whitaker stood near the front with his father, Pastor Matt. Tall. Broad shoulders under a crisp white shirt. His dark hair was neatly styled, but a few strands fell across his forehead. When he turned his head slightly, our eyes met for half a second.
My stomach flipped.
He was… God, he was beautiful in a way that felt dangerous. Thirty-eight years old and he carried it like power. Not in a creepy way — just confident. Calm. Like the whole room bent toward him without trying. He smiled at something his father said, and I felt it low in my belly.
I quickly looked away, cheeks burning again.
We took our usual seats in the third row. Mom was humming softly beside me, excited about whatever “something special” was coming.
The service started normally. Songs. Prayers. Then Pastor Matt’s face grew serious.
“Tonight,” he said, voice heavy, “we must address sin in our midst.”
My heart dropped.
A boy named Timothy, in his late teens, lanky, and always quiet, was brought forward by two deacons. He looked terrified. His mother was already crying in the back.
Pastor Matt’s voice rang out. “Timothy was caught kissing a young sister behind the fellowship hall. Not once. Multiple times. He has confessed, but repentance must be public.”
The shaming began.
They made him stand in front of everyone while they read out the verses about lust and disobedience. People murmured. Some nodded. A few older women whispered “Lord have mercy.” Timothy’s shoulders shook as he cried silently.
I sat frozen.
I had just been reading about a man fucking a girl against a wall. I was still wet from it. And here was Timothy being destroyed for KISSING.
'What would they do to me?' The thought made me feel sick.
Eli was standing beside his father during the whole thing. His face was calm, respectful. But when his eyes flicked toward me for a brief moment, something dark and unreadable passed through them. Or maybe I was being paranoid.
After the service ended and people started mingling, I slipped away to the small storage room behind the main hall. I needed air. I needed to be alone for a minute or two.
I closed the door behind me, leaning against the wall, eyes shut.
The door opened again.
I jolted, eyes flying open.
Eli stepped inside, closing the door quietly behind him. The small room suddenly felt tiny.
He looked at me, brow slightly furrowed. “You okay? You ran out pretty fast.”
His voice was low. Calm. Deeper than I expected up close.
“I… I’m fine,” I whispered, hugging my arms around myself. “Just needed a moment.”
He didn’t move closer, but he didn’t leave either. The silence stretched between us. I could smell his cologne — something clean but warm.
“You looked upset during the disciplining,” he said softly.
I swallowed. “It was… hard to watch.”
Eli nodded slowly. Then he stepped forward and gently took my hand. His palm was warm, rougher than I expected. He ran his thumb slowly across my knuckles.
My breath caught.
“You’re shaking,” he murmured.
“I shouldn’t be here alone with you,” I whispered, but I didn’t pull my hand away.
His eyes dropped to my lips for a fraction of a second before returning to mine. He leaned in just a little, his face so close I could feel the warmth of his breath.
“Abby…”
The way he said my name sent heat rushing through me again.
His face brushed against mine — just the lightest touch of his cheek to my temple. My eyes fluttered shut. My heart was pounding so hard I was sure he could hear it.
Then the door handle rattled.
