Chapter 54- Picnic In The Park
Adrian leaned back against the tree behind him and watched Aria as she nicely set up the picnic mat, looking effortlessly pretty. He still didn’t know how she had convinced him to come the park, yet there he was, way out of his comfort zone.
“Could you make yourself useful and take out everything from these for me so I can set everything up nicely” Aria said to Adrian with a small smile as she pushed the picnic baskets that were filled with food towards him, thinking she couldn’t wait to eat, as they both hadn’t had breakfast. Adrian looked over at her,
“I much rather sit here and watch you” he said with a hand on his chin, thinking she looked good with all of her hair tied up.
Aria put on her sad face and looked up at him,
“But I’m really hungry” she said quietly, hoping he felt sorry for her and gave in to her sad look. Adrian sat up without hesitating and looked at her,
“Did you not eat in the morning?” he asked with a serious look as he watched her pretty hands work as fast as they could. Aria shook her head and looked at him,
“I wanted to eat with you, but guess you had other plans” she said with a small smile as she remembered their perfect morning.
Adrian took out everything from the two baskets in front of him and looked at her,
“If I remember correctly, you were the one who climbed on top of me and started undressing” he said with a small smirk, thinking it had been one hell of a good morning. Aria didn’t meet his sharp eyes,
“I don’t remember” she said quietly, although she did nice and clearly. Adrian looked over at her,
“I could refresh your memory if you want me to beautiful, just say the word” he said quietly, making her heart skip a beat and stomach flutter crazily.
Aria slipped a few strands of her hair behind her ear and looked over at him,
“No, I think you should save your energy for later handsome, because its going to be a long evening” she said with a small smile, quickly getting all of his attention. Adrian looked at her with a serious look,
“I hope you haven’t planned anything crazy” he said quietly, not trusting her at all. Aria smiled and looked at him,
“I guess you’ll have to wait and see” she said as she nicely set the picnic mat.
It was a good few minutes later when she had finally finished and admired her work.
“Looks good” Adrian said with a small nod as he looked down at everything, thinking she had definitely put a lot of thought into it as his eyes fell on the cheeseboard she had put together. Aria looked up at him,
“Thanks, now let’s eat” she said before she sat down next to him and tucked both of her legs underneath her.
Adrian wrapped an arm around her and kissed her on the side of her face softly,
“You didn’t have to do all of this, but you did, thank you, you’re efforts haven’t gone unnoticed my love” he said with a serious look as he looked down at her pretty face, thinking he was lucky to have her in his life, she made every day worthwhile. Aria smiled and snuggled against him,
“I didn’t do much, but your welcome” she said before she reached up and kissed him on the lips softly, as the nice afternoon breeze blew around them both.
They both kissed for a good long while before they moved a little back from each other and started eating. Aria had asked Raj to make homemade pizza, potato wedges and pasta bake for their little outing.
“I only made the chocolate strawberries” Aria told Adrian with a small smile as she helped herself to a slice of pizza. Adrian drank some water and looked at her,
“They look good, did you make them for yourself?” he asked with a small smirk as he knew how much she liked them.
Aria smiled and looked up at him,
“Maybe” she said quietly, making his smirk grow. Adrian filled her glass with some juice and looked at her,
“I should have guessed” he said before he took a big bite of his pizza. Aria drank some of her cold juice and looked up at him,
“I really liked the ones you got for my birthday” she said quietly as she remembered that sad unexpected day.
Adrian felt something deep inside as he listened to her quietly, sensing the sadness through her soft voice.
“I’ve put you through a lot haven’t I” he said quietly as he took hold of her free hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. Aria shook her head and looked up at him,
“You’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me, I just wish I met you sooner” she said with a small smile before she closed her eyes and kissed him on the lips softly. Adrian kissed her back,
“I could say the same about you beautiful” he said with a serious look before he moved back from her and they both continued eating.
After they had finished eating, Aria put everything away and only left the cheeseboard platter on the mat and the chocolate strawberries she had made. She took out a book from her bag and looked over at Adrian,
“Since it’s your birthday, I thought I’ll read to you today” she said with a small smile, before she took a small sip of her drink.
Adrian looked at her a little surprised,
“You read?” he asked with a small mocking smirk as he leaned back against the tree behind him with one leg raised and the other one stretched out in front of him.
He made Aria sit in front of him and gently pulled her back against his nice hard chest, with one arm wrapped both of her shoulders and the other one around her waist. Aria crossed her legs and looked up at him,
“Yes sometimes” she said before she opened the book and helped herself to a nice chocolate covered strawberry.
She was about to bite into it when Adrian took it right out her hand with his mouth, making her pretty eyes widen.
“Since you didn’t feed me, I thought I’ll help myself” he said with a small smirk.
Aria gave him a look with her eyes, thinking no matter how rough and tough he was, even he had a cute side to him that only she got to see.
“That’s because you didn’t give me a chance to” she said before she picked up another one. Adrian took it out from her hand and looked down at her pretty face,
“I’ll feed you instead” he said before he held it to her soft lips. Aria smiled and took a small bite of it,
“Now can I start reading” she said before she leaned back against him fully.
Adrian kissed her on the top of her head softly and looked down at her,
“I don’t see anyone stopping you beautiful” he said quietly, and it was then Aria started reading. He listened to her quietly, liking the sound of her soft voice, that filled his ears, thinking it sounded melodic.
He liked how she put on a different voice for every different character in the book and when she got tired, he took over and read it, whilst she enjoyed the snacks.
They enjoyed the book and each other’s company as they both sat in the middle of a quiet park somewhere in New-York, away from the hustle and bustle of the busy city.
A few hours had passed, and Adrian had gone out with Jared, something he hadn’t done for a long time. Aria was glad he had, as that gave her enough time to cook and get ready for the evening.
Adrian’s mum Angela had wanted to throw a small surprise dinner for him but wasn’t sure if Adrian would come as he was always busy on his birthday. Aria reassured her and told her that she will definitely make sure he comes and that it was a lovely idea. She had even offered to make a few things, as she knew how much Angela wanted to taste her cooking and what better opportunity to do it then tonight.
She had made pasta bake, chicken tikka on skewers and egg fried rice, as she knew it was one of Adrian’s favourites. After she had finished cooking, she took a quick shower and started getting ready for the evening as she knew he would be back soon enough.
Aria was wearing a beautiful grey coloured midi dress, that had a nice, ruffled design going down the front and back. The dress nicely hugged her figure and showed of her not so little baby bump and bottom part of her legs.
She wore thin strapped silver heels, nice pretty makeup and had left all of her long hair opened, with only the front tied back with a clip. She put on some perfume and rubbed some body lotion all over her bare arms and neck before she made her way back downstairs.
“I’ve switched off the oven ma’am is there anything else I can assist you with?” Raj asked her politely.
Aria took a deep breath and looked at him,
“Yes, could you please not be so formal with me all the time, I am just like you, no one special” she said with a small smile, thinking no matter how many times she told him to call her Aria, he never did.
Raj looked at her,
“I will try to remember for next time” he said with a small smile. Aria smiled and looked at him,
“Thank you” she said before she walked to the kitchen and packed everything, thinking she’ll tell Hunter to drop the food off to the Delgado Mansion before Adrian came home as she didn’t want him to get suspicious in any way.
Adrian returned home twenty minutes later and saw Aria sitting in the lounge, looking beautiful in grey. He wondered why she was dressed up but didn’t question it, instead he walked over to her and kissed her on the lips softly.
“You look amazing” he said quietly as he leaned down slightly and looked into her greyish blue eyes that also looked green sometimes.
Aria smiled and looked up at him,
“Thank you, could you get ready quickly, because the days not over yet” she said quietly, not giving away too many details. Adrian looked down at her,
“You look tired beautiful, shouldn’t you be resting” he said as he touched her face lovingly and gently caressed both of her cheeks, thinking she looked stunning. Aria stood up and wrapped both of her arms around him,
“I’m ok, don’t worry about me” she said before she ushered him away and told him to get ready quickly as he could as she had made a dinner reservation for eight.
She had convinced Adrian to make a quick pit stop at his parents along the way, and he didn’t think much of it, not knowing what was waiting for him inside.
He was wearing a crisp white shirt which he wore with dark grey trousers. He had the sleeves rolled back to his elbows sexily and had left a few buttons of the shirt undone, showing off a generous amount of his sexy slightly hairy chest.
He finished of his smart yet casual look with an expensive Rolex watch and his signature perfume, that had strong notes of wood, mixed with musk cologne, and overall smelt very manly.
“You look really sexy today” Aria said quietly, the moment she took his hand and stepped out of the car, thinking he even smelt amazing.
Adrian closed her door after her and looked down at her as they both walked up towards his parent’s mansion,
“I’m sure I didn’t ask for a compliment” he said quietly with a small mocking smirk on his lips. Aria held onto his hand tightly and looked up at him,
“You never do” she said as they both walked up the nicely lit pathway and into the awfully quiet mansion.
