Chapter 70: My feelings for you

"Sin!" Came a shrill, feminine yell that masked my gasp.

Sin turned away from Gabriel, who had fallen to his knees, clutching hand, while it stained everything with blood.

Larissa was by the door, holding Angel and covering her eyes, but the girl seemed to be crying nevertheless.

Could this day get any worse?

Sin let go of me, then turned fully to Larissa, his brow rising. "Is it that just anyone is allowed entry into my place now?"

"I am not just anyone, Sin. I brought your daughter because she missed her father and wanted so desperately to have dinner with you. But this is what I find? You weren't this violent, Sin. What could Gabriel have done that..."

"Don't you dare lecture me. And as for Angel, you either leave her here and leave, or you take her and never come back. You are not going to get access into my space using her."

"Daddy!" Angel started crying and promptly fell to the ground, rolling around, kicking her shoes.

Larissa looked up to Sin, skipped the girl, and then walked up to him. "You are destroying your family, Sin. You are not the man I knew, the man who would put anything on the line for the people he loved. You are different, Sin. Are you going to kill off all your allies like this?"

"I didn't kill him," Sin said, turning to Gabriel, who was now crying hard. "He is never going to raise a hand to my woman again. Or any woman."

"Sin..."

"As for protecting the people I love, I still do. You are just not part of them anymore, so you wouldn't know. As a matter of fact..." He trailed off, then pushed his left hand back into his pocket. He took a step back, his eyes cold as he slowly brought his gun straight to Larissa's head.

She gasped, her eyes widening, and I, trying my best to keep my shock away, ran towards Angel, who was still throwing a tantrum on the floor.

"Sin. It is me, Larissa. It is me!"

"I know," he said, resting his hand on the trigger. "That's why you are the best person to ask."

I grabbed Angel from the floor, and she wrapped her hand around my neck as I carried her, her little legs wrapping around me.

I turned her away from the scene, my hands patting her back.

"What really happened with Aldo?"

Larissa blinked, and she started to turn to Gabriel, but Sin stopped her, bringing the gun to her cheek and pushing her face right back to him.

"He isn't the one I asked."

"Sin, Aldo is dead."

"Exactly. Who the fuck killed him?"

"Sin, you..."

"Some man lied about killing him. Gabriel says he had a thing with Annalise, who had only met him once and with me. It is impossible for Aldo to know about Annalise beforehand and buy her or plan with her, so that claim makes zero sense."

"Sin, please. You need to believe me. Please!" Gabriel screamed, his words punctuated by tears of pain.

"Shut up," replied Sin without breaking eye contact with Larissa. "Same Gabriel called up my maid and asked her to scrape off a picture he had given me himself, as if he had a change of heart. Like someone was paying him. Like someone has an ulterior motive against my wife."

"She isn't even your actual wife!" Larissa yelled, her hands clenching into fists. "You wanted to make me jealous so bad since you were seeing me for the first time in over four years at that event that you hurriedly put this fraud up to act like your wife. You didn't want it to be obvious that you never got over me or that you were butthurt that your main man Aldo could steal your girl."

Sin nodded slowly, his expression still stoic. He didn't seem stressed that she knew about the contract or that she could use it against him.

"All that is fine," he said finally, then moved, grabbing her chin, keeping the gun to her head still. "What exactly is happening?"

"Sin!"

"I don't care about what you think I feel for you or what you know about Annalise. All I need to know is what happened with Aldo. All I need to know is how far this nonsense runs."

Larissa's teeth gritted, her eyes turning to me. Slowly, she moved Sin's hand away, her chest heaving with spite.

"Fine. I will stop caring about you too, Sin. You don't know what my feelings for you has saved you from."

My eyes squinted, and she swallowed, obviously hiding tears.

"I told Gabriel to lie about it because when Aldo was alive, he did intend to take your money and destroy you, but using me. I never agreed. I wanted to get rid of her. Are you happy now? I wanted to open up my space! I wanted to get rid of that impostor!"

I turned to Sin, my hand holding Angel even tighter. Sin dropped his gun, then with a small gesture of his hand, got a few men to take Gabriel out of the house.

Gabriel kept screaming as he was pulled out of the premises, and Sin turned to Larissa again, his eyes dark.

I held my breath, my heart hammering against my chest, my hands going cold. What if... what if this revelation touched Sin? What if Larissa succeeded? What if, in the end, I still lose?

Sin sucked in his lower lip, then sighed, his eyes leaving Larissa's for a brief minute. I could hear my heartbeat out loud as the silence dragged on.

Larissa suddenly went on her knees, grabbing Sin's hand. "Please, Sin. You are all I know. I have been terrible. I have been the absolute worst. I have hurt you with Callum. I let his charms sway me. I allowed myself to leave you with Aldo instead of owning up to my mistakes. I should have thanked you for the years you put into raising my daughter. You had no obligation. I beg of you, Sin. Go easy on me. Please. I will be the best thing ever. I swear. I swear. I will die if you don't take me back. Please, sin."

Sin looked down at his hand, then to her eyes. "Did you kill him?"

"Sin..."

"That picture... were you the one in that picture?"

"Sin, please!"

"Were you the one who gave him those pills in that photo?"

"Yes!" She said, her hand trembling. "He wanted to fake death so he could escape from everything and come to me. I wanted to be a free woman so I could pursue you."
