Chapter 18: Shall we?

Slowly, the outside lights started to dim, and the lights in the room became even brighter. I watched myself in the mirror as they slowly fixed me up. This makeup was a more sultry one, one that gave a sexy, moneyed look. It was indeed beautiful.

Angela started to push my hair up into an elegant bun when Sin suddenly emerged from his bath. He had a towel wrapped around his waist, his hair falling back in thin wet strands, his eyes dark.

His hair was dripping water unto his shoulder, and honestly, I didn't blame Angela for losing focus. I believe every single red-blooded woman in that room did lose focus.

I gave a small yelp as Angela pushed the pin into my skin instead of my hair.

"I... I am sorry. I am so sorry. I will do that again."

I nodded, smiling knowingly. If I hadn't seen him, I would have thought she was being easy. My eyes fixed on him in the mirror as she started to pile my hair back up again, trying her best to focus.

"Let her hair down."

She stopped, then looked up. "But... her dress is backless. It would best..."

His eyes slowly met Angela's. "I prefer her hair down."

She swallowed. "Yes, sir. Of course. Whatever you want."

He slowly disappeared again, and a small smile lifted my lips. She let my hair down and combed the curls, then stepped away.

"You should wear the underwear."

I nodded, taking the box. I walked slowly towards the walk-in closet, and Sin was standing with his back to me, his tattoo glistening against his skin, his hair caressing the top of his shoulders. He was already wearing his pants and had just buckled up the belt.

I felt my throat go dry. I had never been so close to a man before.

I started to turn when his voice came, stopping me in place.

"Come inside."

I swallowed. "I... I need to change."

He slowly turned to me. "I know."

I swallowed hard, then walked in, my steps slow. I walked away from where he was standing, tucking myself into a small corner. I leaned out, and he was focused on choosing a shirt and seemed rather unbothered with me.

I started to get ready and tied the robe around my waist as I tried to clasp the same handless bra. I gave a small curse, my chest heaving as I reached for it, trying to put it back in the clasp.

It had been way easier in the morning, why was it acting so fucking stubborn now?

I clenched my teeth, then pulled it together. Suddenly, I felt a pair of hands behind me. I turned with a small gasp, and Sin was standing behind me, his eyes focused on the clasps.

"Sin."

"Turn around."

I swallowed. "I don't... remember giving you permission to touch me."

He suddenly pulled me backward by the clasps he was holding, his eyes thinning as they met mine. I was now leaning on his body, my eyes wide, my lips parting. Slowly, he clasped the bra around me, then let his thumb run along my spine.

"I don't remember giving you permission either."

I swallowed hard as he slowly let me go, then walked away like it was nothing. Like he hadn't just seen me like this.

I closed my eyes as I tried to swallow down the huge lump of embarrassment that rose up my throat. I waited there for a few minutes longer than I needed to, hoping he would be gone by the time I got out.

To my dismay, he was taking out a watch, his hair falling in lazy, brushed-up waves. I quickly walked past him, then towards Angela who had been waiting.

I sat on the chair to wear the shoes they had brought, black six-inch stilettos. It would be very hard not to impress anyone in these.

I stood up, then walked around for a minute, my chest heaving. God, please.

Angela slowly brought out the dress, and I stopped in place, my eyes widening. It was a red satin dress, with a cowl neckline that extended from thin sleeves. It also had a slit, and I wondered how daring that slit would get.

I turned to Sin. He was ready now and was wearing everything in complete black, except for the silver wristwatch and silver accessories that complemented his suit. It would hurt like a bitch if this was all a dream.

I slowly removed the robe, and they fitted the gown on me. Angela arranged the low back. She wasn't lying. It only covered the very curve of my waist.

Angela put a body chain on me, a long, glittery silver piece that ran down my spine, adding allure to my bare back.

She adjusted my hair again, and my eyes fixed on Sin. He still wasn't looking at me. I wondered what he would think when he saw this dress.

"All done," Angela said. "You look perfect."

I smiled at her, and they started to pack up. Soon enough, it was just Sin and me in the room.

I adjusted the dress, then pushed my hair back, my chest heaving. I closed my eyes and bit down on my lip, then sighed.

"Sin?"

He slowly turned to me, his eyes finally leaving whatever he was doing, to settle on me. How will I ever be able to explain to myself, the girl that will be cast away in five months, that the way his eyes immediately darkened, the swirls of intensity behind them, and the danger they heavily carried made me feel so much like a woman?

He said nothing for the longest time before he slowly met my eyes.

"What do you think?" I asked, my heart thumping hard as I awaited his response.

He let his eyes glide down my body again, taking in every inch, the darkness spreading through his eyes.

Slowly, he covered the distance, his left hand going behind him. Slowly, he gave me his right hand, his eyes holding my gaze.

I slowly took it, and his fingers clasped around mine. He pulled me to him, his hand wrapping around my waist.

I could feel his hand against the skin of my waist, and my breath left me.

"Shall we?"

Oh fuck, yes, we shall.
