Chapter 126: The Cages
Lindy's P.O.V.
What the hell happened? I feel like I've been hit by a truck. I open my eyes and don't see anything other than a dirt floor and bars all around me. Am I in a cage? How did I get here? I sit up on the cot and rub my head.
"Val, do you know what's going on?" I mindlink my bunny.
"I believe we were taken by a witch. We saw her grab Sydney, and you tried to stop her. The next thing I remember was waking up here a few minutes ago," she replies groggily. Why would a witch want us?
I stand up and walk to the bars to look out. There are cages everywhere with people in them. I don't recognize anyone. If the witch took Sydney, where is she?
"Hello?" I say softly to see if anyone can hear me.
"I wouldn't speak too loudly. The witch doesn't like it when we talk. I don't think she's here right now, though." A man stands up across from me.
"Where are we?" I ask him while noticing a few others looking through the bars of their cages.
"We're in the house of the witch Norea. She calls us her collection, but I don't know what her plan is for us. I've been here for about six months, I believe. I'm Brandon, and I'm a panther," he replies.
"I'm Lindy, and I'm a bunny. Have you seen a petite woman with long black hair? She should have come when I did," I ask the others.
"She's in the cage next to you. Norea took her somewhere and then brought her back a little while ago. She left again, though. I'm Gloria, and I'm a tiger," a young woman in the cage beside Brandon says. The cages are angled, so I can't see into the one next to me. I try to mindlink Dayan, but nothing happens.
"Where are you from?" I ask them.
"All over. Norea can travel anywhere she wants by snapping her fingers. We're all unmated, and most are rogues," Brandon answers.
"Sydney and I have mates. We're in the Biker Bunnies gang, and our mates are in the Rogue Misfits biker gang. I'm pretty sure they're looking for us right now, but if this witch can take us wherever she wants, they probably won't be able to find us. I can't even mindlink my mate or the other bunnies." I have to think. How can we get out of here? No way am I letting this witch do whatever sick thing she has planned.
"Lindy?" I hear Sydney and go to the side of my cage.
"I'm here, Syd. What happened to you? They said the witch took you away and then brought you back," I ask her anxiously.
"She took me to Doug. He was going to rape me and mark me. I killed him," she says.
"Good. That's one less dirtbag we need to deal with. Are you okay?" I ask her and notice the others in the cage looking at us in shock.
"Yeah, I'm fine. I just want to get out of here. She let me kill him and then put me back to sleep." Sydney says.
"So, are you guys like some kind of killers?" Gloria asks quietly.
"We only kill those who need it, like the man who tortured Sydney as a child or the human who killed his parents to force me to be with him. We didn't set out to kill them, but when they came after us, we had to defend ourselves. Is that a problem for you?" I ask her. She looks down and shakes her head.
"No, I wish I could do that. I'm a rogue and have lived on my own since I was ten. Some bad things have happened to me, and I would love to get revenge, but I'd never have the nerve to do it." When I see her tears, I feel bad and want to give her a hug.
"You never know. You may get your chance for payback, but first, let's find a way out of here. Are any of you able to shift? I love my bunny, but she's not the best when it comes to fighting." I look around, and those I can see are shaking their heads.
"She has a spell on all of us that doesn't allow us to shift," Brandon replies.
So we can't use anyone's animal, and we're dealing with a witch who can make us go to sleep at any time. This isn't good. What are the chances that the bunnies and the misfits can find us before she does something evil?

Dallas' P.O.V.
I can't believe Sydney is gone. I had watched her fight Bram with the other bunnies and turned to say something to Alan. When I looked back, she was gone. When Dayan began yelling for Lindy, I knew someone must have taken them. If the wolves that came were from the pack that had tortured her, then I know the first place to look.
"Let's go to the Fatal Moon pack. I'm almost certain that's where they are," I say, heading toward my bike. Everyone follows and jumps onto their bikes. It's still a couple of hours from sunrise, so it's dark, and there are not many people on the road. It doesn't take long to get to the pack. I swear if that bastard has hurt one hair on her head, I will skin him alive. A few people come out to see what's going on. Jordan and Anya take the lead. I just want to run into the pack house and start kicking down doors.
"Where's Alpha Doug?" Anya asks a young woman who looks terrified.
"I think he's in the pack house. We heard screaming coming from inside not long ago," she answers softly, looking down at her feet.
"Can you show us where his office is? Do you know where his bedroom is if he's not there?" Anya asks gently. The young woman nods and leads us inside. She takes us to Doug's office, and Jordan opens the door. I'm relieved when I see the body inside. I guess we know who was screaming.
"Is he dead?" The woman asks almost excitedly. I look at her in confusion.
"Yes. Are you glad?" I ask her, even though I want to get in there and look for any sign of Sydney.
"Yes. About four years ago, when I was fourteen, he bought me from my parents. I'm not a wolf; I'm a bunny. My name is Sally," she answers in relief. Anya pulls her into her arms.
"You're going with us. We're bunnies, too. We're the Biker Bunnies." I let her explain as Dayan and I walk into the office. Doug is lying on the ground with his head almost decapitated and his penis missing. That has Sydney written all over it, but if she were here, where is she now?
"A witch has them." I turn and look at Alan. He has his hand on Doug's desk, and his eyes look far away.
"Do you know how we can find her?" I ask him.
"Yes, but it's not going to be easy. She's taken them into her own realm. Once we break through the barrier, she will know. If she's an ancient witch, she'll have safeguards in place that could kill us all instantly."
