Chapter 53: Flashback to the Start

John POV:

I was in my new place. My headquarters burnt down more than a month ago and I have still been thinking of what I should do.

I have a lot of things to do. Firstly, I have to take back what rightfully belongs to me too. This is nothing else than Robert’s company. I am his twin, why should he get it all? Wasn’t the business Dad’s?

I ran out of my family when I was young. It was just when I came to know that they were gonna sell one of their children. I couldn’t risk getting sold too, and I was the weaker one: I would have been the first to be sold.

When I ran away, I never thought I’d find anyone from my family again, until, after a few years, Robert became such a prominent figure. I met him by accident, and we became friends as we reconciled our childhood.

But the problem started when I silently started liking Hailey.

When Robert announced to marry Hailey, I had stopped him once. I had told him how I felt about her, but he already decided to marry her. That was when we stopped talking and I left to find a way back one day.

Secondly, I will get Hailey. I liked her first, so she is mine.

I got up from my seat and looked at the group of men sitting in front of me. They were all having a deadly serious expression and were indeed a serious business.

“I have decided what we need to do next,” I announced.

They all looked at me and I smirked. “Kill him. I will get his business once he dies, and I will get Hailey by rose or by thorns.”

“Roger that, boss.” All of them stood up and said in one voice.

My vicious smirk grew wider. I have trained my men to go through the worst, and the first thing which they know is loyalty. I know that with these people, I am never gonna lose.

Robert, your death is near now. How will you fight me, huh? With that traumatized wife of yours?

I laughed at my thought and got up. “Meeting adjourned.”

Everyone left and went to their rooms. I have learned one thing in life. Have a small but trustable and powerful circle of men if you want to succeed.

I may not have an army of people to support me, but every one of my men is powerful, intelligent, and highly loyal.

This is your end, Robert.

Alex POV:

I was so happy when I heard the news that Summer just told me.

My lips curled up into a bright smile as my eyes shone in excitement. Cassie too noticed the gleam in my eyes and walked up to me.

“What happened?” She asked with a kind of happy expression.

I smiled. “Cas, the results came out.”

“What? really? Tell me!”

“It is mine.”

She smiled and immediately hugged me. “I knew! I knew it was gonna be yours! Summer could never do something like that to you and me!”

I chuckled and hugged her back.

“You are correct. I will never doubt her again.”

The truth was that I didn’t actually doubt her. Because of my PTSD, I decided to stay away from her and our child…so that I don’t do harm to them. When I was going through it, it was common for me to lose my senses and to do stuff that I didn’t want to.

However, when I came to know what she said, I was terrified. When she told me that the kid might not be mine, I couldn’t believe it.

But finally, everything is solved!

“As you should.” She smiled. “So, when are you going back?”

“Um, when should I? I meant to ask you…”

“You should go back straight away. Show her how much you love and care for her!”

“Would you be fine by yourself?” I raised an eyebrow.

She laughed. “I am fine by myself and always have been. Now go!”

I smiled warmly at her. Ookay. take care, sister.”

“I will. You too. And take care of Summer.”

“I will.” I left a small kiss on her forehead and went out of her house after taking my stuff.
