CHAPTER SIX

Laura quickly grabbed Amanda before she could fall and steadied her while laughing. Amanda could feel the world spinning around her.

“Did you just say Kayden? I mean that’s Kayden Perez?” Amanda asked as Laura laughed and nodded.

“Yeah. That’s him. Don’t tell me you didn’t recognise him?” Laura asked as Amanda shook her head.

“Kayden, I mean none of the members of C. R. E. K use glasses and he’s wearing a pair of glasses” Amanda replied as Laura folded her arms as she stared at Amanda.

“Kayden had always used glasses but the company thought it didn’t seat well with his image so most of the time he’s on contact lens so a lot of fans used to think that he had different eye colours until he told his fans during one of his live chats” Laura replied as she furrowed her brows.

“You didn’t know?” Laura asked as Amanda shook her head.

“I paid him the least attention in that boy band. Ryan is my favourite and then Camseil and then Elis. I never did paid attention to Kayden. He’s never got my attention” Amanda replied and Laura chuckled.

“What do you mean by that? Do you even know that Kayden has a higher IQ than Ryan does? His IQ is 168 or 178. Not sure it is higher than Ryan’s” Laura replied and Amanda turned to her flabbergasted as she brought out her phone and ran her hands over the keyboard while Laura peered at her phone.

“178. See” Laura said as Amanda tucked her phone back into her pocket without saying anything.

“And earlier. What did you mean by what is that boy doing here? Have you met him before?” Laura asked as Amanda turned red from embarrassment.

As she remembered all the words as she said few hours ago, Amanda wanted to dig a hole for herself to fall in. Just what was she thinking when she said those words to him? Amanda felt herself cringe as she remembered Kayden’s IQ and her words to Kayden again.

“Is there anything special about you that is should know? Well I know the fact that you are an unserious student who sleeps while classes are going on” Amanda replied as the guy froze and stared at Amanda before chuckling lightly.

“Unserious?” He asked with an incredulous look in his eyes.

“What? No one ever told you that?” Amanda asked with a faked shocked expression before she shook her head.

“Tsk, tsk, tsk. What a pity. I think you should change your friends; they are not being helpful” Amanda added as she shook her head.

“Not at all” Amanda said again as she patted him on the shoulder and walked away.

Amanda climbed down from the table and dropped her head in her palms. She was dead. Dead from the inside and outside. Amanda didn’t know what she could do if she ever ran into Kayden.

“Did you really meet him before? Did you do something embarrassing?” Laura asked laughing as Amanda nodded her head.

“No big deal. Just apologise alright. They are also in the same class with us” Laura said as Amanda snapped her head towards her with wide eyes.

“Same class?” Amanda asked and Laura nodded as Amanda dropped her head again. She had started formulating plans on how to avoid the band and avoid Kayden when all her plans got crushed with Laura’s statement.

“This isn’t fair” Amanda whined as Laura laughed and patted her back.

“Let’s get going. It’s the last class before the day ends. You are coming over to my house to watch a movie right?” Laura asked as they both carried their tray and walked towards the door of the cafeteria.

“I might not be able to make it today. I have to see my brother and ask him about something” Amanda replied as Laura pouted.

“I was already anticipating having you around tonight” Laura whined as Amanda sent her an apologetic smile.

“I’m sorry Laura” Amanda replied a she dropped a peck on the latter’s cheeks.

“I’ll make it up to you, I promise” Amanda added as Laura grinned.

“Aye, aye” Laura replied as both girls burst into laughter.

“Shouldn’t I get to meet your brother one of these days?” Laura asked as Manda laughed.

“You want to meet my brother?” Amanda asked and Laura nodded.

“Sure. I’ve only heard about him from you and I’ve never heard from him before. Of course I want to meet him” Laura replied and Amanda chuckled and nodded

“I’ll tell him about that. He’ll probably want to meet you too. I tell him about you too” Amanda replied and Laura smiled.

Amanda walked while shaking her head as she didn’t watch where she was going. She couldn’t believe her eyes and herself. She had embarrassed a member of C. R. EK. just what was she thinking? How could on earth did not recognise him?

Just because she hadn’t watched their videos for a while, she couldn’t even recognize him. She brought out her phone as she searched for information about Kayden. She couldn’t believe the face cap boy was indeed Kayden Perez, the lead rapper for C. R. E. K. He had even asked her if she knew instead she had insulted him. Couldn’t she have looker closer?

She was about to slip her phone back into her pocket when she ran into someone.

“So…….” The remaining words didn’t get to see the light of the day as she raised her head and met a familiar pair of eyes.

“Kayden?” she called out lightly as Kayden chuckled lightly as he slipped his hands into his pockets.

“You recognize me now?” Kayden asked as Amanda realized that not just Kayden was in front of her. Cameron, Ryan and Elon were standing right in front of her. The whole band was staring at her.

“Recognize you?” Elon asked as Cameron folded his arms laughing.

“You two know each other?” Ryan asked glancing in between the duo.

“I was sleeping……” Kayden hadn’t managed to start talking when a small hand covered his mouth. He turned to see the girl from earlier covering his mouth as she grabbed his hand.

“I apologize; I’m going to borrow Kayden for a moment” Amanda said as she started pulling Kayden away.

“Don’t bring him back” Ryan hollered after her as the remaining boys burst into laughter.

“Who’s she?” Elon asked as Cameron shook his head.

“No idea” Cameron replied as Ryan also shook his head.

“Nah. I don’t know too” Ryan replied as Elon burst into laughter.

“Did Kayden just get kidnapped?” He asked as Cameron burst into laughter.

“Shouldn’t we report this? Why are we still laughing?” Cameron asked as Ryan shook his head at his friends.

“Y’all are crazy” he said as they started walking towards their class ignoring the various stares and whispers that was being sent their way.

Kayden looked around and chuckled “Why are we here again?” he asked as Amanda realized that she had brought Kayden back to the rooftop.

“Ohh” she replied as Kayden sat down while looking upwards at Amanda. he had pulled down his hoodie and Amanda could see a clear view of his slender neck. Seeing the strands of white hair at the back of his neck; she grew curious.

“What colour did you dye your hair this time around?” Amanda asked as without waiting for Kayden to reply her; she walked towards him and removed his face cap. A pile of white curly hair came into view as Amanda stared at Kayden in a daze.

Could he be any sexier?

“That’s more than rude” Kayden said with a frown marring his handsome face as he snatched his face cap from Amanda and wore his face cap back on his head.

Amanda suddenly realized what she had done as soon as she came back to herself. She swallowed her saliva a she turned to Kayden and planted herself in front of him.

“I’m sorry” Amanda said as she realized her words made zero effort at removing the frown on Kayden’s face.

“For removing your face cap and before now” Amanda added as Kayden chuckled.

“So?” Kayden asked as Amanda raised her head to meet those eyes with golden specs in them.

“If I wasn’t Kayden and I was one random guy, you wouldn’t apologise. You insulted him without listening to my explanation which I have no problem but you removed my face cap without asking me. That’s very rude. All you’ve done has only shown me how rude and how inconsiderate of a person you are” Kayden said as Amanda opened her mouth unable to form words to say.

“I didn’t mean it that way” she finally blurted out as Kayden chuckled.

“That’s exactly what it looks like. If you would excuse me” Kayden said as he walked off leaving Amanda staring into space. She sighed softly as she leaned against the railing.

“I didn’t mean it that way. I really didn’t mean it that way” Amanda murmured as she ran her hands through her hair. She sighed again as she left the rooftop.
