Chapter 27: Uncle

Elinn "Elinn….Elinn will you please wake up….Elinn it's been too long I need to talk to you….I haven't seen you in far too long." The voice sounded familiar, like someone that I thought I once knew. How did I know that voice? "She might not remember who we are or they could have done what they did with Carter's family to us. We don't know how she is going to react to us, we have to be prepared for anything." Both of these voices pulled at the threads of my memory, who were they? I had to wake up to figure out who the heck was talking to me. I forced my eyes to open and immediately regretted it. Who kept placing lights in front of wherever I was sleeping? Whoever did this had to seriously hate me to continuously do this. When my eyes finally adjusted I scanned the room looking for the faces of the vaguely familiar voices. When I finally located the voices I didn't recognize either of the faces staring back at me. The older man sparked slight memories of when I had been stuck in the dungeons back at Master's house. Then I realized exactly who was in front of me I shot up in my bed. I felt something wriggling in my lap and glanced down to realize there was someone in my lap. The tiny figure squirmed in my lap trying to adjust to my sudden movement. I placed a hand on her head attempting to calm her whilst I freaked out internally. What were they doing here? "Elinn you're awake! Thank the Goddess, I thought you were going to sit there and sleep forever. How are you, wait that's a stupid question. You're in the hospital, of course, you aren't good." The young man's rambling caused me to giggle a little. "Elliott, you always have been one to ramble haven't you?" My words seemed to shock both Elliott and his father. Why was everyone acting as if I hadn't said a word before, it was starting to throw me off a little bit. "Wait Elinn, you remember who we are?" Uncle Marcus asked surprised. "Of course I remember who you are! Elliott used to come over to the house all the freaking time and we played for hours. One day you just stopped showing up, and I was devastated." I admitted looking at the two of them praying they would explain to me exactly what had happened. The two seemed to look at each other having a conversation using their thoughts. "It wasn't intentional, we didn't leave on purpose we were more forced into it," Marcus explained tentatively as if he didn't want to tell me the whole story. "What do you mean it was unintentional, if it was unintentional then why didn't you tell me you were leaving? Didn't you think that I would want to know? Besides Darius and Xander, you were my only friend and you just abandoned me to try and learn about how to do things by myself." I was desperately trying to understand what they were so desperately trying to explain without saying anything. "What my father is so delicately trying to say is that we were taken hostage by the man that you call Master. He took my fathers position by taking me captive forcing him to give up his Alpha position to the bastard. He took everything from my father and kept me locked up in my room to make sure that your uncle never tried to take his position back. That's why we didn't tell you that we were leaving because we weren't supposed to be leaving any time soon." Elliott burst out and the pure rage in his eyes had me taken aback. "No, that has to be wrong….Master would never do something like that. He wouldn't kidnap innocent children, he is a kind and loving Master. Why would he do something like that?" I wondered aloud and Marcus and Elliott looked at me as if I was crazy. "Elinn you are aware that he pretty much did the exact same thing to you right? He kidnapped you, locked you in a cage, and then spent the next twelve years torturing you for no apparent reason. And you are telling me that he is an upstanding guy?" Marcus asked surprised. "Well Master never hurt me without a reason, it was only ever if I made a mistake or broke a rule. He would never hurt me for no reason, though some of the people here might. I mean they did before I left so why would anything change?" Once again the two looked shocked and expression that I was starting to think was a permanent fixture to their faces. "Oh Elinn, we have a lot that we have to talk about."
