Chapter 28: A distant memory(2).
WRITER’S POV
Luana dropped to the ground, feeling completely helpless.
“Terra! Terra!” Massimo’s younger version had just arrived to see his wife on the ground.
“What happened?! Help! Help! Please help!”
He rushed toward her, gathering her in his arms and shaking her gently.
“Hey, baby, please get up. Get up!”
She didn’t move. Her skin was becoming paler and paler.
Morwenna had heard the shouting and came out with King Alucard. She froze in shock.
“Terra… oh my. What happened?” she asked, rushing toward her.
Massimo moved back, his eyes darkening.
“ I’m supposed to ask you that question. What happened to my wife?”
“I-I don’t understand. I… I just left for a few minutes and then… and then…”
“And then what?!” Massimo asked again, his voice raised.
“I just poured the tea, and then I went to answer Alucard. I didn’t do anything!”
He noticed the teacup on the table, he sniffed it and threw it on the ground.
Shattering and spilling its contents.
“This is poison.”
“What?!” Morwenna asked in shock. She couldn’t believe her ears. “That's impossible. I drank the tea too. And nothing happened to me.”
“Of course nothing will happen to you. This poison is only for Earth witches.”
Alucard stepped forward, placing his wife behind him.
“Massimo, please calm down. I’m sure there must be some misunderstanding. There’s no way Morwenna would poison her.”
“Calm down? You expect me to calm down? Really?” Massimo growled. “I know what’s happening here. I heard about the prophecy.
That’s why you all are doing this. Because you know there’s a high chance that Golden Witches are born to the Earth Witches and their power is able to kill a demon.
That’s why you want to terminate her.
You want to kill her first, then kill my daughter.”
“No!” Morwenna shouted. “That’s not true! I would never do such a thing!”
Massimo shook his head.
“I don’t believe you.”
“Lua! Lua! come here.”
The children finally came over to see what was happening. Their faces were filled with shock and fright, but Luana looked the most terrified.
“Papa…what happened to mama?” Tears streamed down her face.
“I don't know darling, but Papa will get to the bottom of this okay?.”
He placed his hands over his wife and started trying to remove the poison inside her body.
He pulled out dark substances from within her. She coughed up blood but still remained unconscious.
A small black substance seeped out — something designed to disrupt a witch’s magic, making them weak, sick, lose their voice, and eventually die
.
Massimo’s blood boiled. He saw red.
But he needed to get her to a doctor first.
“Lua, come. Let’s get your mommy treated.”
Luana sniffled and held her father’s hand.
“Okay, Papa.”
He carried his wife bridal-style and held Luana with the other hand.
The other children were confused.
“Please let us come too!” Morwenna cried. Alucard nodded in agreement.
“If you follow me, you won't have any remains to go back. Stay away from me. I’ll be back, so watch out.” Massimo’s voice dark and dangerous.
And with that, they teleported away.

The memory ended, leaving Luana in a state of confusion.
Her eyes were already puffy from crying.
They were back in his study.
“What happened to mom?”. Luana asked.
“She eventually lost her voice…and her memory”.
“Can't we just restore it back?”. Luana asked, her breathing uneven.
“Hers, is a delicate situation. If I meddle aimlessly in her head, it might become worse”.
“So…so she doesn't remember us?”
Massimo nodded.
“She doesn't.
Luana covered her face with both palms. Her sobs low and quiet.
“It's okay Lua, she's fine but she doesn't remember us yet”.
He placed a hand on hers.
“Don't worry, we're going to make her remember, together”.
He wiped her tears with a napkin.
“Where is she?” Luana asked.
“In my hometown. She's being treated there.”
“I..i want to see her”. She said.
“Of course you will sweetie, we'll both go. Right after I kill the demon king”.
Luana's head snapped to him.
“What? What did you say?”.
“I'm going to kill Riccardo Castellano”.
“But you can't do that!”
“And why not? Didn't you see what happened?”. Massimo asked.
“Yes I did. In fact I am upset and angry about the whole thing but Ric did nothing”. She said.
“He's the root cause of the problem. The prophecy must be stopped”.
“The prophecy won't happen I assure you”. Luana said in confidence.
Massimo scoffed.
“Do you think a few tears from a unicorn will be enough to dissolve his dark self forever?”.
Luana looked at him in surprise.
“How….how did you know about the unicorn?”.
Massimo laughed a slow, deliberate laugh. It echoed throughout the room.
“Ahh…it seems I haven't told you everything sweet daughter”.
His tone had changed, so had his aura. It felt dangerous.
“What do you mean?” Luana asked, standing up and moving back.
Massimo smiled a wicked smile.
“I was the one that placed the vision in your head”.
