Chapter 26: Massimo.
WRITER’S POV
Luana burst open her windows, letting the sunlight and wind embrace her face.
Her mind replayed the event of last night, her face burned, turning the brightest red.
Never, in her entire life, did she imagine herself liking a demon.
Like?
Yes, she liked Riccardo. Her own feelings shocked her.
Someone she wanted to kill.
Someone she hated.
His kind murdered her people, treated like nothing other weapons, just like how he had treated her.
But she saw light in his heart.
The will to change, he was different.
As she continued staring out into the scenery in the balcony, something caught her eyes.
It had hooves and was hiding in between the trees.
Hazel? She wondered.
Her assumption was affirmed when Hazel came out of the trees, her horn glowing.
"WE NEED TO TALK". Hazel told her through telekinesis.
Luana nodded.
She teleported down, where the trees stood in the small forest of Witchesville.
"What's wrong? Is everything okay?". Luana asked. Never, has a unicorn decended from their abode or out of the forest.
They never left their home.
If you needed their help, you'd go look for them yourselves.
Hazel was silent, as if calculating what she should say.
" Hazel?" Luana called.
"I can't say everything, but I will say this;
Divinità shook.
It's walls trembled.
The fairies wept."
She walked closer to her, her horn shining a faint yellow. "My power is fading", she continued, "something big is going to happen soon and it's going to involve you". She said, her voice low.
Luana couldn't believe her eyes and ears.
"Hazel you're not making any sense what's going on?? Tell me. It must be important for you to come all the way here! What big thing is happening that involves me?" Luana asked in a panicked tone.
"You'll find out soon enough. There is something you should know though". Hazel said.
"What's that?" I asked.
"You had a vision back in the forest right? One that you all were little?". Hazel asked.
"Yes...yes we did."
Where was she going with this?
"It's not a vision, but a distant memory."
Luana froze. She shook her head in disbelief.
"No..no it doesn't make sense. I've been in Witchesville all my life and I have no memory of that day. And my mom? She died when I was a baby and only met Ric and the others a few months back. It was an illusion". Luana said.
Hazel shook her head.
"That, was not an illusion Luana, it was real". Hazel said, turning to leave.
"No ! That's impossible. You're not making any sense".
Luana spoke, panting.
"It'll all make sense very soon. And Luana, make the right choice."
In the blink of an eye, she vanished.
Luana stood there, thinking of everything hazel had said to her.
Her mother, her childhood, meeting Riccardo, Harry and Stefano earlier in life!?
Something was fishy. She needed answers. She needed to know what was coming and how to stop it.
But hazel didn't provide the full story. Who could she ask?
Madam Margaret was out of town for an important mission, so the next person she could ask was her tutor.
He was a powerful witch and he seemed nice, she thought.
He might be able to help her see into the future to know what was coming. Her foresight wasn't very good.
She found him in his study room. A place the witches had given him at his request. It was different from his room. Here, he could cast spells with ease.
"Come in child, what's wrong?" Massimo asked as he saw her standing at the door.
"I need your help". She said, entering.
"Sure I can help you. What do you need?" He asked with curiosity.
Luana told him everything. Not missing out a single detail. From the time she was captured and bound, and the events that took place during then, to now that hazel appeared.
It wasn't safe spilling everything to her tutor that she just met a few days ago, but she didn't have a choice.
A calamity was about to befall them and she needed all the help she could get to know how to stop it.
Massimo placed a hand on his chin.
"Hmmmm this demon that you speak of, can he be trusted?". He asked, his expression was serious and somewhat dark.
"Yes. He's not like the others, he's changed." She said, a smile crossing her face.
"Have you forgotten what his kind did to the witches? Do you remember the prophecy? Demons don't change child, they lie and deceive you into doing so". He got up from his chair and raked a hand through his dark hair.
"Ric isn't like that". She said.
"Ric?". Massimo paced about.
"What's wrong? You seem tense. If you know something that could help me stop the calamity then say it".
"Ughh you're just like your mother Lua".
Luana froze. Lua? Mother?
"How do you know about my mother?" She asked, her breath shaky.
He sighed.
"Because I'm your father".
