Chapter 125

Drrrnnggg...drrrnggg...

This was Aiden's 99th call of the day. Aiden really didn't give up until the end to find out the answers to the news about his girlfriend on the internet.

What frustrated Aiden even more was that Nina wasn't even answering his phone calls. Whether it was on purpose or she was busy, it still annoyed him. Especially, every time you imagine what really happened to Nina and the Director of the TV station and why she could be with him.

Nina who wasn't ready to face Aiden yet, still ignored his calls and just stared at her cell phone screen which kept on vibrating. She took a breath, this was a very bad day for her. Everyone glanced at her sarcastically and whispered to each other to insult and corner her. She didn't even have a chance to explain to them that she had absolutely no relationship with the young CEO, all of this was just a misunderstanding.

Nina allowed all her friends to go home first, while she hid in the toilet to avoid the stares again. Although Depney behaved as usual with her, Nina still felt uncomfortable if she had to mingle with other colleagues.

"Looks like it's quiet. Maybe I can go home now!" She said as she came out of the toilet.

Some of the lights have been turned off indicating that the crew of Mr. Kevin's program have returned home. However, Gavin's office light was still on. As usual, she was the last to leave.

"Captain isn't home yet, is he?" She thought.

Gavin turned off the light in his study and opened the door. Nina who realized that she had met him, immediately became embarrassed.

"C-Captain, I-I'll go home first! See you tomorrow?"

"Wait!"

"Y-yes Captain, what's wrong?"

"We'd better go out together! You want to avoid that person, right?"

"How did you know?" She thought. She really didn't expect that this man was so sensitive that he knew what she was avoiding.

"Tthank you, Captain!

Nina and Gavin came out of their office together and walked through the hall which was getting quiet. Nina felt uneasy, as Gavin said, she was afraid to meet Victor who asked her for answers today.

But it seems, bad luck has stuck with her. Victor exits the elevator ahead of them with the intention of meeting her.

"Wow...well, looks like you guys are close enough, huh?" Victor said with a faint smile. Gavin looks very calm, while Nina is scared.

"Why are you here? What are you looking for?" Gavin asked.

"This is my company, have you forgotten? So, I'm free to go wherever I want. After all, I have business with this woman standing beside you. Can I take her with me?"

Nina was scared, Victor's gaze was too sharp as if he was stab her to the heart. She really wanted to get out of this place, go home and hide her face in the pillow. Crying out loud was what she wanted to do today.

"If I may ask, what business is that?" Asked Gavin. Nina immediately lifted her face, glanced deeply at the captain who was standing beside her and looked like a hero to her.

"Captain?" She thought. This girl felt touched, if it wasn't for Gavin, she would definitely have been forced to follow this crazy director without a fight.

"You seem very curious, do you have a special relationship?" Asked Victor who returned to attack with tricky questions like that.

Gavin still looks calm, as expected of a former captain in the air force, Gavin is really difficult to subdue let alone bully.

"Relationship or not, none of your business! Oi, Brat, let's go!" He said as he stepped past Victor who was standing in front of the elevator door.

Nina who feels called, rushes to follow Gavin's steps to be safe from the fear that continues to haunt her all day long.

Victor quickly pulled Nina's hand to hold her steps. Meanwhile Gavin had entered the elevator which was starting to close.

"C-Captain...?" Nina tried to call Gavin who had already entered the elevator and accidentally left her alone with that scary man.

"Captain, don't go...!" She thought. She was really miserable and her heart kept screaming for the captain who might have gone down to the ground floor.

"You want to try to run away, huh?" Victor's voice sounded scarier than before. The dark atmosphere he showed made her realize that she had made this man very angry.

"T-that, I want to go home! I have something to do-" she said as she tried to let go of Victor's hand and run away as soon as possible.

"You really want to go?" He asked. His intonation sounded threatening, as if it would be a bad ending if Nina just left him.

Nina who was frightened, forced to stop walking. This feels very stifling, when it seems that weak people are forced to submit to every order of those who have power.

Victor approached Nina who was silent in her place. Her face was downcast holding back tears, she didn't want what happened yesterday to happen again and exacerbate her guilt towards Aiden.

Victor took her to his room and he really wanted to teach this woman a lesson who was so presumptuous to leave him and complain to Gavin.

"Sit down!" He said. He immediately locked his door.

Nina sat on the sofa with her body trembling, if she didn't have Aiden, maybe she would be lucky if she was involved in a love scandal with the CEO of a company this big. However, since she already had Aiden, a scandal like this was catastrophic.

Victor sat at his desk with the arrogant style that stuck with him. Nina was even still afraid to look at the face of the man in front of her. She kept asking herself, why could something like this happen to her? Even though what she hoped for was a simple thing. Intern at this TV station for three months, gain knowledge, experience and new friends.

"Actually, what do you want from me?"

"Didn't I tell you not to call me formally when we're together?"

"But it's still in the office, so-"

"Never mind! Now I ask you, why did you complain to Gavin about what happened between us?"

"I'm not complaining, it's just Captain Gavin was very sensitive and asked me what happened,"

"That's why he helped you to escape from me?"

"That-"

"Since when did he care about other people's problems? You must think you can ask him for help, right? Do you think someone like him is better than me?"

"I never thought like that, it's just that Captain-"

"Stop calling him captain in front of me! He's no longer a captain in the army but a former thug who has killed a lot of people. You know? Gavin has been to prison before and you think it's the right choice to ask him for help?"

"Just because he's been in custody before doesn't mean his help isn't needed!"

"What are you saying?"

"I'm sorry! As I said before, I already have someone I love and I can't be with you!"

Nina said it with the bit of courage left in her soul. She knows, if it doesn't end now, then this scandal will continue and get worse.

Victor was silent for a moment, observing the stubborn woman who had made him so angry. He hated to feel defeated, after Samantha whom he loved, only wanted to use him to be able to win the man's heart and now, Victor again feels defeat when he thinks he can take the woman the man loves and make him feel the destruction he is feeling right now.

"You're so naive, aren't you? Can he give you everything you want?"

"Of course! He even gave me things I never thought of before. Every little thing he did, felt so precious. He's such a sweet and loving man, for that I'm really sorry that I couldn't accept your feelings!"

"Okay, I warned you not to reject me, didn't I? But you did!"

"B-but, I-"

"I don't care! I always get what I want and when I say I want you, it means you have no choice but to be mine!
