Chapter 116: Once In love Now Enemies

The silence was finally broken by Mrs. King after she could not bear the tension any longer.

"You ruined me and my daughter after everything, what did I not do for you?"

"What exactly did you do for me, marrying me?"

Stephen asked coolly, he was trying so hard to put his anger under control. He didn't know how much longer he would be able to do that but he knew one thing for sure, he would explode eventually.

"If I haven't forgotten, you begged me to marry you, or are you forgetting that little detail?" He sighed and removed his hand from her face, "Listen, my dear, I am not doing anything wrong. Okay, I admit I had fun with your daughter, of course, sleeping with you and yo.."

Whack!

A slap landed on his face before he finished his statement. He held his cheek and glared at his wife who had her fingers pointing at his face, "don't you dare, Mr. Stephen King, don't dare speak of my daughter in that manner. I know what you wanted to say, that sleeping with me and my daughter was your biggest achievement. Alright, I give you a medal for sleeping with a mother and a daughter."

She spat angrily and raised her hand to slap him again but he stopped her from doing so.

"I don't care how you feel, Maria. It's none of my business. You can say whatever you want, it's up to you but I don't regret whatever I did. You and your daughter deserved it, you hear me? So pick the piece of your life and take a flight to hell, it might actually help."

Maria stepped backwards and chuckled slightly," funny how life rolls, once in love, now enemies. Like you said, I created this mess and I will fix it, mark my words." She threatened and pointed at the door, "Now, kindly leave me room, Mr. Stephen King."

King didn't want to say anything or argue with her, he turned and left in anger. He has been insulted way too much and he will do something about it.

***********

Noami sat restlessly on her couch, she had seen Lucian dropping Kristen and going inside with her. She wasn’t bothered by the fact that he brought her home and went inside with her, but by the mood, he came out with and she believed it has to do with Frederick. Kristen came home with a bandage on her head. Does that mean she recovered her lost memories? She was worried sick and how she was sitting was proof of that. She stood up and started pacing around, it was mid-morning and she hadn't done anything yet. She has proposed going to the mall to buy groceries and maybe do some laundry, her leave will be over soon and she can't say what impact it had on her personal life other than she has been chasing a man Who just realized her worth after his supposed girlfriend lost her memories of him. It didn’t matter that she had him at least, she was happy with it but not so happy because somewhere deep down in her heart she knows that Kristen will remember and it will be over for her.

Frederick hadn't called and she was not ready to call him yet, she had other things to worry about than to call him. He is the one who was supposed to call her, or so she thought.

Hissing out loud, she stood up and decided to go talk to Kristen to know what was going on, whether she remembers anything or not.

Kristen made it out of the bathroom when a bang came at her door, she thought of only one person who could have the nerve to knock at her door like that.

Noami!

She rolled her eyes and continued wiping her body cleaning. Having had a bath, she was calm and ready to take a rest before she could think of fixing anything to eat but from the knock on her door, not sure if she will be getting her rest.

The knock came again and she angrily kicked the air, "she should be patient. Does she want to break my door?"

She quickly grabbed sweatpants and headed out of the door after putting them on.

Opening the door, Naomi smiled beautifully at her. Her face might hold a smile but her heart was definitely bitter seeing Kristen.

"Hello! You there! Can I help you?"

Kristen asked dryly and Noami pushed her away inside like she owns the place.

"I came to see you."

"Alright, follow me."

Kristen turned and headed towards her living room. Noami kept looking around, more like snooping, trying to see if there was anything that would catch her interest.

"Have a seat and tell me what you are doing here."

Noami said nothing and sat down. A moment of silence between them, Kristen waited for her to say why she was at her apartment but it looked like she was not ready to say anything which Kristen was not finding funny.

"Are we going to do a staring competition now?"

Noami raised her face and watched Kristen for a while before sighing.

"You got injured?"

Kristen widened her eyes, did she come here to ask her if she got injured, like for real?

The expression on Kristen's face showed Noami that the question she asked was not welcomed so she smiled nervously and said, "don't be like that?"

"I don't want to sound rude to you, but last time I checked we were not friends. I had lunch with you yesterday, but that doesn't mean we have suddenly become friends."

Her tone was pitched with warning and Noami could see the blaze in her eyes. She shivered slightly and moved uncomfortably in her seat.

"Asking about your injury means I care about you. Don't get me wrong, please."

"I know you so well, Noami. You don't care about me. Aren't you supposed to be with your boyfriend right now or don't you care about him?" Kristen fired with enough venom in her voice. Noami was speechless, she couldn't tell what was making Kristen so angry. It was a harmless question she asked though her intentions were not pure still, she shouldn't flame up like she is doing now.

"You know what, we might not have been anything more than neighbors, it's fine. You can judge me or say whatever you want, it's up to you. I don't see my question as harmful and if you feel as a neighbor I am not supposed to ask after your health, fine. I am leaving."

At the mention of leaving, Kristen's heart swelled with joy.
