Chapter 173: Similarities
Cal took her and Nova to one of his houses in a suburb.
He called it a cabin.
The cabin where Cassie often went to complete her books when she was experiencing writer’s block, but as he approached the house, she saw it was no cabin.
It was a stately two-story building with a wide lawn.
She stepped out of the car, looking around at the surrounding houses.
This was a perfect upper-middle-class community. Beautiful one and two-story houses, perfect laws, small, well-tended porches with simple lighting.
Coming from all the glitz and glamour of the Ciaran complex, she could see why his wife would love coming here to write.
This was the reality that would likely be accessible to most people with hard work and a bit of luck.
Not the Ciaran complex and all their billions.
Only one percent of the world’s population could ever move to a place like that.
“How many more houses do you own, Cal?” She watched him as he took the sleeping Nova from her carseat.
He smiled up at her, “A couple more,” he said casually, and she knew he was downplaying it.
She shook her head and looked away, still admiring the neighborhood.
There was nothing special about a billionaire heir owning a portfolio of houses, it was just how intentionally different each house was from the other that left her in awe.
There was that beachfront property, the extremely grand penthouse and this beautiful little house among the middle class.
He offered his other arm to her. She smiled, and slipped her hand into it as they walked into the house.
The interior of the house was a little grander than what she expected outside, and it saddened her a little.
But the furnishings made up for the little extra vanity.
It was mostly tastefully retro, with polished hardwood, leather and real curtains instead of blinds.
She knew immediately that Cassie had designed this house.
But looking at it, even if she married Cal, she would not change a thing.
Maybe she and the woman were truly alike after all.
Cal lay Nova in a bedroom he said she always used whenever they visited the place, and as soon as he closed the door behind them when they stepped out into the hallway, he was all over her.
“I should win the elections every day,” she smiled beneath his lips, smoldering hers.
“Mhmm.” he squeezed her hips hard and she moaned.
With her back turned to the staircase, he began to back her up the staircase towards the master’s bedroom on the top floor.
“Cal,” she moaned, as his hand reached under her dress to squeeze her butt.
Her leg kicked the carpeted staircase, and she knew they were not going to make it to the master's bedroom.
The man feverishly wanted her, and not only did that make her blush with excitement and pride, it whipped up a raw desire under her belly.
They crashed to the floor there on the carpeted staircase.
“Cal.” She gasped, as he nibbled on her neck, marking her like he always did, and tearing at her lacy underwear, too impatient to spend the few extra seconds it would take him to pull it down her legs.
She heard the ripping sound of the fabric, and before she could blink she felt air.
“Cal,” she gasped in surprise at this intensity she had never seen in him before.
“Yes, darling,” he whispered as he squeezed her breasts through her dress and she moaned, clutching him tighter to herself.
At least he would not tease her today like he loved to do so much.
She threw her head back when she felt his fingers caressing her pssy lips, with the same urgent feverishness, like she was someone else’s hot wife he wanted to lay before her husband returned home.
“Cal!” She moaned loudly this time when he caught her clit between his thumb and index finger.
And then he thrust hard inside her, bringing her face down to him and sealing her lips with his.
He kissed as he moved, fast, faster than she thought it was possible for anyone to move.
His lips sucked on hers as he hit her pleasure spot again and again, in such quick succession her brain died.
His tongue danced with hers as his fingers twiddled with her nipples and her clit simultaneously.
She felt consumed by him, by his body, as his hands were everywhere, taking all parts of her.
It was all nearly to the point of overstimulation, but it felt too good, and soon she was trashing.
“I’m coming.”
“Yes,” he whispered, and sucked in the flesh on her neck.
And she felt herself spiraling hard.
When she opened her eyes again, both of them were staring at each other, halfway up the stairs.
“I love you.” He reached up to caress her face now, and she smiled.
“I love you, too.” She stared down into his eyes, finally able to start breathing normally again.
Her eyes fell on her shredded panties hanging from the banister, and she began to laugh.
When he looked down to see what she was laughing about, he smiled shyly.
She stood up, her legs shaking a little from that sudden excitement, and he quickly stood up to support her.
She giggled and stared up in his eyes when she heard something fall and tumble down the stairs.
She gasped as her eyes followed it, squinting.
At first she thought it was his phone and then as it tumbled down the steps, she realized it was too small to be his phone.
When it finally stopped tumbling, about five steps below, she gasped, backing away.
It was a ring box, and it lay open now, the ring twinkling inside.
“Cal.” She whispered and turned to look at him.
And the man just stood there like a little boy who had been caught stealing.
“Cal,” she repeated, this time a smile was spreading on her face as she watched him. “Have you been carrying that in your pocket this whole time?”
He nodded, and began to walk down the stairs, with his head bent.
As he bent to pick the ring box up, his right knee lowered till it touched the red-carpeted staircase.
She could only just stare at him.
He raised the box up, and when he met her eyes, she saw he was nervous.
“I am probably the first professor that did not have eloquent words at a time like this.” An embarrassed smile colored his face now. “From that day at Weston’s house, I knew I wanted to marry you.” His eyes were shining with tears as he watched her.
“I had jewelers start making this before I left the beachfront house the next morning.”
Myra just stared at him, listening, unable to speak, unable to think.
“I had this in my pockets that day you fell.” He winced in pain now. “And after that..” He paused and then exhaled with a smile.
“I started putting it in my pocket again the day I came to see if you were really going to stomach marrying THE FOOL.”
She giggled at this now.
“Myra, I can only promise you thirty years, forty if I continue hitting the gym.” He laughed sadly at this, and she saw a tear get stuck in his bottom lashes. “But in that time, I will protect you, and I’ll show you true happiness. I will be anything you want me to be; confidant, friend, bestie?”
She giggled now at how awkward that sounded on his lips.
“Lover, dance partner, sex partner, sugar daddy?” He winked now, and she shook her head as the first drop of tears began to fall down her eyes.
“We will build life around your whims, wants and wishes.”
Then he went silent for a few seconds.
“Will you marry me, Myra?”
She nodded now, and stretched out a shaky hand toward him, “What did you say about eloquent words just now?”
And he shook his head as a tear finally dropped, and he slipped the ring onto her finger.
He kissed the ring now, and grinned up at her, “My lady,” he said, as he stood up.
She had her hands woven around his neck, and their lips met in the middle.
