Chapter 195: Of Course I’m Waiting for You to Pamper Me
Jennifer was taken aback for a moment.
It definitely hurt; otherwise, she wouldn’t have stopped him after just a few seconds.
However, she was afraid that if she told Michael it hurt, he wouldn’t let her go find Liam.
"I'm fine. Wait for me in the car.”
Michael nodded, then went back to the car to smoke alone.
By the time Jennifer returned to where they'd agreed to meet, Liam was already back.
“Jennifer, where did you go just now? Was it far?”
Jennifer casually named a place, and then the two of them waited quietly for the meteor shower.
"Jennifer, I..."
The words were on the tip of his tongue, but Liam hesitated.
He had a feeling that if he confessed today, she would reject him.
If that happened, they wouldn't be able to be friends anymore.
He could sense that Jennifer didn’t have any feelings for him yet. Confessing now would be worse than saying nothing at all.
So he changed his plan. “I’m sorry. I didn’t realize you must be pretty tired today. Do you want to go back and rest? Or maybe just take a nap? I can wait until the meteor shower starts and wake you up.”
With Michael lurking below, she certainly couldn’t fall asleep there.
To her surprise, Liam didn’t seem ready to confess after all.
Since he wasn’t making a move, she couldn’t blurt things out either. That would seem too calculated. She certainly couldn’t coax him into confessing just to reject him.
The initiative had somehow slipped back into Liam’s hands.
Jennifer thought for a moment, then took a step back to advance. "I'm pretty tired today. I didn’t expect to run into Mason either.”
Liam replied, "Yeah, I joined the boycott against him, too. Jennifer, you were really brave tonight, and you did an amazing job in the competition.”
"If you're tired, you should go home and get some rest," he said. As if he were afraid she might feel pressured, he added, "There's another meteor shower next month. If you still want to see it, I can bring you back.”
Jennifer replied, "Sure. We'll see about that then."
After saying goodbye to Liam, Jennifer walked along the mountain path toward the Maybach.
Michael was sitting in the driver’s seat; the driver had already left.
Jennifer opened the passenger door and got in. He was leisurely rubbing his knuckles.
Michael asked, “Did you have a good talk?”
Jennifer replied, "Mm-hmm."
“Did you tell him you don’t like him?”
She knew he wasn’t that easy to fool.
She had indeed intended to reject Liam, but who knew Liam would suddenly change his strategy? She couldn't explain that to Michael, so she could only say, "I never liked him in the first place. Why are you so worried?”
She added, "I've been thinking about it. It must have been the atmosphere just now.”
"Next time, if we find the right angle, it shouldn't be... Well, anyway, you need to guide me a little.”
Jennifer was changing the subject.
How could he not notice?
Compared to harping on Liam, though, this topic was clearly more interesting.
He turned the steering wheel around a bend, his tone playful yet tinged with a barely perceptible hint of indulgence.
"Then what have you been doing?"
"Of course I’m waiting for you to pamper me."
“Pampered like a cat?”
"Yes, you tamed me. I’m completely yours now.”
Jennifer realized that Michael no longer frowned at remarks like this. In fact, there was even a hint of amusement in his expression.
She knew she was right.
He had indeed grown closer to her because of tonight’s breakthrough.
Jennifer began to push her luck. "I’ve already taken ninety-nine steps toward you. Now, there’s just one last step left, and it’s in your hands.”
Michael glanced at her out of the corner of his eye, and the corners of his mouth curled up again.
"One step? Are you sure it’s just one step?"
Judging by how reserved she’d been tonight, he felt the journey ahead would involve far more than ninety-nine steps.
Just then, the car pulled up in front of a detached villa at the foot of the mountain.
Before Jennifer could process it, she realized that it was yet another one of Michael’s residences.
She’d thought the tent was the extent of his plans for the evening, but it turned out that this was only the beginning.
Under the cover of night, water spurted from the fountain at the entrance of the luxurious villa.
“Step one: I think I should teach you how to kiss first.”
His car was parked outside the iron gate. From inside the car, he lifted her delicate chin with his hand.
Jennifer’s sparkling eyes met the stern face of the man before her. She licked her lips.
“Is there something about my kiss that you’re not satisfied with?”
“Did I not kiss you deeply enough? Or did it not last long enough?”
His breathing deepened, and then, unlike any time before, a domineering kiss swept over her.
He closed his eyes, hiding the crimson glow in their depths.
“Neither.”
His voice was hoarse in the night.
"Those are all just little tricks of yours."
When she stepped out of the tent, Jennifer knew that things would never be the same again.
Walking into this palace-like, detached villa nestled at the foot of the mountain, she felt as though she had stepped into another world.
She didn’t know where this place was.
There were no servants, yet every corner was spotless. Michael had likely dismissed the staff before their arrival.
The mountains were exceptionally quiet at night, and the castle-like villa stood tall and majestic.
In the center of the hall, a uniquely designed sofa stood out.
Michael carried her over to the dark red velvet sofa.
Her long brown hair cascaded down the velvet fabric and spilled onto the handwoven Persian rug covered with thousands of red roses.
Michael, wearing elegant trousers, knelt on the priceless rug and began kissing her, starting at her toes.
His lips traced the top of her foot all the way up, past her ankle and calf and the inner side of her knee.
She wiggled slightly from the tickling sensation, but he held her ankles firmly, preventing her from moving.
“Don’t move,” he said.
He glanced up at her, his gaze deep and tinged with a hint of a smile.
She stayed still, biting her lip as she watched him continue.
When his kisses landed on the inside of her thigh, her breathing became ragged.
His hand gently rested on her lower abdomen and rubbed it soothingly.
"Kissing isn't just lips touching lips." He sat up and traced her lower lip with his thumb. "What about the tongue?"
She leaned in of her own accord, slipping her tongue into his mouth.
He held her there, guiding her slowly and teaching her how to swirl her tongue, how to suck, and how to gently bite his lower lip as they took a breath.
Only when she was gasping for air did he let go.
“Have you learned?”
She nodded, her face flushed.
His hand slid up from her waist, inch by inch, his palm against her skin.
She tilted her head back slightly, a soft moan escaping her throat.
He leaned down to kiss her, biting the soft flesh below her collarbone and grinding his teeth gently against it.
"Don't..."
Her voice was impossibly soft. Her fingers tangled in his hair as she struggled with whether to push him away or pull him closer.
He didn’t stop, kissing his way down her body. His lips pressed against her chest, one kiss after another.
Her breathing grew heavier, and her body twisted beneath him.
“Don’t rush.”
His voice was low as his hand slid down her waist, slipping into the spot that was already wet.
Her whole body shuddered, and her fingers dug into his shoulders.
"Here...do you want it?"
