Chapter 12

SAMUEL'S POV

I was lying on the bed, watching Lily tenderly as I ran my fingers through her blonde hair. Her delicate body contrasted with the white sheets, and I couldn't help but admire Lily's delicate facial features. Her freckles, so subtle and charming, seemed to dance in the soft light that streamed through the window, creating an aura of fascination around her. Every little detail, from the way she bit her lip thoughtfully to the intense sparkle in her blue eyes, drew me in irresistibly.

Her freckles seemed to trace an invisible map on her skin, inviting me to trace them with my fingers in a gesture of reverence. The way she bit her lip, lost in her own thoughts, only intensified my desire to be with her, to unravel the secrets hidden behind those captivating eyes.

Every movement she made seemed like a work of art in itself, a symphony of delicate gestures that completely hypnotized me. And as we lay there together on that bed, I found myself lost in a whirlwind of emotions, ardently wishing to be even closer to her.

There was something indescribably magnetic about her presence, something that compelled me to want more, to desire more. But then, the real world came crashing into our bubble of intimacy, and Lily got up to put on her dress, breaking the spell that enveloped us.

“What are you doing?” I asked, my voice soft but filled with concern.

Without looking at me, Lily replied, her voice sounding somewhat tense. “It's time for us to leave. We still have to tidy up your mom's house.”

I sat up in bed, watching her as she closed her dress.

“Probably, the people who organized it have already sorted everything out,” I commented, trying to find an excuse to prolong our stay.

Lily finished adjusting her dress and turned to face me.

“Even so, I still need to sort out my things in the new room,” she explained, her expression determined.

I looked at her, a feeling of frustration starting to settle within me.

“If you want, we can do it one more time,” I suggested, hoping she would accept.

However, her response dashed my hopes.

“No, better not,” she replied, her tone firm. “Mrs. Preston might come back, and things could get complicated.”

I sighed, getting up from the bed and starting to straighten my clothes.

“Then you're one of those,” I remarked, trying to disguise my disappointment.

Lily stared at me, her expression indignant.

“One of what?” she asked, clearly offended.

I looked at her, feeling frustrated.

“You're one of those girls who, after fulfilling their fantasies, act coldly,” I explained, my voice filled with resentment.

She stared at me, her eyes flashing with anger. “First of all, you came into my house without permission,” she retorted, her voice trembling with indignation. “So what happened wasn't something...”

I stared at her, the pain of rejection pulsing within me.

“Wasn't something, what? Wasn't something you wanted, Lily?” I asked, the frustration evident in my voice. “You didn't want to make love to me?”

She looked at me, her eyes full of emotion.

“It's better if we leave,” she said, ignoring my question.

Frustrated, I grabbed my shirt and put it on, picking up Lily's suitcase before heading downstairs, feeling defeated and confused by the situation. It was evident that things weren't going as I had hoped, and the feeling of disappointment weighed heavily on my chest as we descended the stairs toward the car.

As I loaded Lily's last suitcases into the trunk of the car, I felt frustrated and somewhat used. It was hard to admit, but I had let myself be carried away by the expectations and fantasies that Lily had aroused in me, only to be confronted with the harsh reality that it was all just a game to her. I sighed, closing the trunk with more force than necessary, wondering if this was a characteristic of the Thompson family.

Lily got into the car and stared at me as I drove in silence. I could feel her gaze on me, but I chose not to respond. If she had used me, I would do the same.

“I don't want you to be upset with me,” Lily said, breaking the tense silence between us.

I took a deep breath, trying to control my frustration. “It's okay,” I replied, trying to sound indifferent.

Lily looked at me, visibly nervous. “It's not okay,” she insisted. “Things shouldn't be like this. Our parents shouldn't have gotten married without consulting us better.”

I forced a smile, even though inside I was seething with anger. “It's okay, you don't need to justify yourself,” I said, trying to keep calm.

Lily stared at me, looking confused. “I'm not justifying myself, I'm just explaining,” she insisted.

I stared at her, feeling the tension between us increasing. “It's all the same in the end,” I replied, my voice a little harsher. “And in the end, you owe me, Lily.”

She looked at me, completely perplexed. “Owe you what?” she asked, clearly confused by my assertion.

I parked the car in my house's garage and turned to face her.

“You owe me a fantasy,” I declared, making it clear that I wouldn't easily forget what had happened between us.

She seemed taken aback by my statement, and I wondered if I had gone too far in putting it that way.

“What do you mean, owe you a fantasy?” she questioned, her voice sounding incredulous.

I stared at her, determined not to back down. “I fulfilled your fantasy of sleeping with your idol, in this case, me, in your room,” I explained, trying to keep my voice steady. “Now it's your turn to fulfill one of my fantasies.”

Lily looked at me, clearly irritated. “You're such an idiot,” she shot back, her voice filled with anger. “You only see me as someone to have sex with.”

I felt a tightness in my chest at her accusatory words. “Actually, you're that kind of person,” I replied, my own emotions starting to overflow. “It was you who made love to me and then asked to leave. You act like an innocent girl just to get what you want, and then you discard the guys.”

Lily stared at me, her eyes sparking with anger. “If you want to know, you're a presumptuous jerk,” she responded, her voice trembling with rage. “And you better stay far away from me.”

Without saying anything more, she opened the car door and got out, heading straight into her house. I sat there in the driver's seat, feeling a mix of frustration and regret. Maybe I had gone too far, letting my own insecurities and resentments take over. But now there was no turning back. The only thing left was to deal with the consequences of my words.

I took a deep breath and got out of the car, feeling the weight of the tension between us as I walked toward the house. Lily was already climbing the stairs when I caught up with her, and I couldn't help but notice her indignant expression.

“Stop making such a fuss,” I said, my voice filled with frustration.

Lily turned to face me, her eyes flashing with anger. “I'm not making a fuss,” she retorted, her voice laden with indignation. “I just want to stay far away from you.”

She began climbing the stairs again, determined to distance herself from me, but I followed her.

“I'll go to my room,” she announced.

“You don't even know which one is your room,” I commented, a hint of sarcasm in my voice.

She stopped and faced me. “Then tell me which one it is,” she challenged.

I shrugged. “Probably the second on the left,” I suggested, not wanting to prolong the argument.

Lily shot me one last disapproving look before proceeding down the hallway, disappearing from view. It was clear that things between us were far from resolved, and I wondered if there would be any chance of reconciliation.
