Chapter 218: 218. LUXURIOUS TORTURE
~ORION
My eyes flew open and the first thing that struck my brain was the large room.
"Where am I?" I whispered as I turned around, scanning the place I was in.
There was a golden chandelier above my head with silk sheets that felt too soft to be real.
And the chairs...
"No way!" I mouthed as I hurried out of bed to observe them closer.
They were not mere chairs made out of wood and fabric. They shone under the golden lights, reflecting even more lights...
Like crystals... But they were so bright. Could they be—
My eyes widened as it finally struck me. These chairs weren't made of our crystals... They were diamonds!
I turned around unable to understand how someone would own so much luxury to the point of embellishing an entire room with it...
Then my heart flipped as my eyes landed on the mirrors. Yes, tens of them.
The entire wall was lined with mirrors and unlike the other items, these ones didn't stir awe... It made my insides feel uneasy.
And the closer I got to them, my reflections within each mirror felt different... Almost like they were alive...
Where was this place? I wondered as I checked around the place.
There was only one door and I reached for it, thinking that was the exit.
But it led me to the bathroom.
"This is strange..." I mouthed to myself as I returned to the room with a frown.
Who would build a room without a door? And why would they—
As the questions filled my head everything suddenly clicked.
My memories flooded through me like a broken tap and I froze.
"We were— kidnapped?" I muttered, still trying to make sense of it.
I remembered clearly that my brothers and I were kidnapped by Dimitri and his men... Yet, how did I get here alone?
Another memory flashed and I cocked my head to the side with further confusion.
My brothers, Cassius, Vlad and Lyon were... Kidnapped...
But didn't Lyon lose his mind?
And Dahlia—
As her name echoed through me, my body jerked with adrenaline. She was with us too in Dimitri's lair.
Surely if I was still here then it meant that she was also in trouble. I had to find her.
The luxurious room instantly felt like a prison before my eyes and all I wanted was a way out.
But how?
I stood in the middle of the room with helplessness consuming my soul. But the need to save Dahlia pushed me forward.
The mirrors!
Surely if I could break them, maybe one of them could be an exit!
I ran towards the closest one ready to throw a punch through. But as soon as I raised my fist, it began to hum an eerie sound.
My fist remained in the air as fear washed over me.
What was going on?
I barely finished wondering that, when my reflection. The mirror distorted into someone else...
"D—Dahlia?" I stuttered, unable to believe my eyes.
She was standing right there in the mirror dressed like a queen. The world bowed behind her as she faced me with a bright smile on her face.
"You did it, Orion..." she said, her voice booming with pride. "You saved the world along with me... And now, everything belongs to you..."
My breath hitched as her words sank through me in waves of shock. "I— I did?"
"Yes, Orion... And what is even more..." Her eyes dilated into lust and right before my eyes, she began to take off her clothes...
"You don't just own the world, Orion... You own me... I belong to you and you alone..."
My wolf instantly stirred alive as my cock hardened at the beautiful sight before me. But even more than that, her words...
Finally, Dahlia was mine. She chose me... Out of all my brothers, she picked me...
My hormones blazed with desire and excitement as I hurried to grab her. But the moment my fingers grazed the mirror, the image darkened.
"No! Dahlia!" I cried out in horror as the scene became distorted with chaos.
The world where my Dahlia stood became attacked with explosions from different angles.
"Orion, help!" Dahlia screamed, reaching for me.
I hit the mirror hard. I kicked and yanked with my claws. "Dahlia! Stay with me!" I roared trying to break through...
But nothing I did worked.
The mirror refused to shatter and I was forced to watch the scene like an emotional movie spectator.
Someone else covered in a hood drove through the chaos and he saved Dahlia.
The mirror resumed humming louder than the first time. The tempo grew dark and I felt the hairs at the back of my neck stand erect.
"No… Dahlia!" I cried out, desperately clawing at the mirror.
Rather than reach for me like she was doing before, she covered herself up and her eyes darkened.
"You are useless, Orion!" She spat out and it felt like a knife had driven through my heart.
"You couldn't even save me! Or anyone. Not even yourself! I regret knowing you!"
My knees buckled but I refused to fall apart. I held on to the mirror... Hoping to hold her.
"Dahlia... Don't say that... I—"
"You poor fool!" She hissed and walked away following the strange man.
Instantly, the mirror shattered, and I dropped to my knees in shock.
"No... No... This can't be real..." I mumbled, my brain refusing to process what I had just seen.
Just then, someone called my name.
'Orion!'
My head snapped in the direction, just as another mirror began to hum.
My eyes landed on another distorted reflection in a different mirror across from me.
"Dahlia, is that you?" I asked, wiping my tears.
But the image in this mirror, made my confused mind halt.
It wasn't Dahlia— It was me... A different me in our realm.
This Orion was dressed like a true royal and people yelled praises as he walked down the street.
"The one true heir! The only son! The perfect prince!" They yelled.
My tears stood still as I watched in shock... And a small growing fulfillment.
Was this what I could have if I was truly born alone? Could people actually love me... And just me?
'You want this life, Orion?' the voice that had called my name whispered again.
My desperate heart burned and I quickly nodded. "Yes, please, I want this... And I— I want Dahlia... I want her and everyone to love me... To see me..."
'You can have it all Orion... Just like the first mirror, each mirror is a parallel life to what you currently live... If you want it, all you have to do is reach the activated mirror in good time... And it shall all be yours...'
Hope soared through me and the thought of having everything I had ever wanted wiped out every rational thought.
I no longer cared about how I got here. Or who was speaking... All I wanted was the life of me in the reflections...
So quickly, I got to my feet and tried to reach the mirror.
But just like the first time, the second I got close, the mirror darkened and the image turned into chaos.
"Useless Prince! His brothers are much better!"
"Why did Viktor even let him live!?"
The people suddenly cursed throwing dirty food and rubbish at Orion— At me.
Maybe the rubbish they launched didn't reach me physically, but I felt the pain of every throw like a knife slashing through my back.
Their words and curses went deep. They reminded me of my losses... my failure... how little I was worth...
And it didn't end there.
The moment the mirror shattered, another one activated...
And every new one came with more emotional torture wrapped in a pretty package of luxury and renewed hope.
This was my eternal hell.
