Chapter 171: Make it happen

After the father's chilling statement, the entire room fell dead silent. Every eye was fixed on the newborn laying quietly on the couch.

"What else can we do then?" Siwoo asked, breaking the oppressive silence. "We can't just kill an innocent baby."

"I think we should stick to the plan," Yoon chimed in firmly after listening quietly. "We just need to reach out to elite staffing agencies and hire the most trustworthy pediatricians and private nannies available. For now, this is our best option. As she grows, we can observe her and decide whether she's a threat, but we can't harm a defenseless infant."

Ravens father let out a weary exhale. "If that is your decision, so be it. I won't be around when the consequences unfold, but I strongly advise you to keep a relentless eye on that child."

Siwoo nodded. Without wasting another second, Raven pulled out his phone and began placing calls to top-tier domestic agencies and private medical firms.

By the next morning, they loaded the baby into the car and drove out to a secluded, high-security estate on the outskirts of the city.

The property was massive, enclosed by high perimeter walls and heavily guarded by a armed security detail stationed at the main entrance. As their vehicle pulled up the long driveway, a line of twenty newly hired staff members, nannies, housekeepers, and specialized tutors stood in crisp uniforms, waiting for instructions.

Siwoo stepped out of the car, cradling the infant against her shoulder as Raven, Yoon, and Eunwoo followed close behind.

They walked into the main mansion, the staff filing in behind them in disciplined silence.

The master nursery was fully outfitted state-of-the-art crib stood in the center, surrounded by educational toys, monitoring equipment, and soft developmental play mats.

Raven turned around, facing the lined-up workers. "I assume this is the nursery?"

A senior nanny stepped forward and nodded respectfully. "Yes, sir. And right beside the crib is a daybed for the lead nurse on duty. Additional quarters for off-shift staff are located just down the hall, exactly as you requested. We will be operating on a strict 24-hour rotation."

Raven nodded slowly. Siwoo stepped forward and gently laid the baby into the crib before turning to face the lead nanny with a cold, unyielding glare.

"Remember the most important rule," Siwoo warned, her voice dropping into a deadly whisper. "Under no circumstances is this child to be taken beyond the estate gates. Am I clear?"

"Understood, ma'am," the nanny replied instantly. "I have years of experience in high-profile childcare, and I promise you she will be guarded around the clock."

Just then, a security guard escorted three men in crisp white medical coats into the room. They were the private pediatric team hired to conduct daily health evaluations.

Raven turned to the doctors. "Treat her like a special patient, just as we discussed."

"Of course, sir," the lead doctor replied, stepping toward the crib to begin the morning examination.

Raven looked over the entire staff one last time, his gaze hard. "I repeat: whatever this baby needs stays inside these walls. No one takes her past that gate. And if you notice any unusual behavior no matter how small you call us immediately."

The workers bowed their heads in unison. "Yes, sir!"

Raven and Siwoo cast one final look at the quiet infant in the crib before turning and heading back out to the waiting car. They settled into their seats, and the driver immediately pulled away, heading back toward the guest house.

as soon as they entered the guest house,Raven sanked on the seat,He slowly leaned back against his seat, looking over at Siwoo. "I think it's finally time for that family hangout, don't you think?"

He looked back at his father with a warm smile. "Father is tired, and we still need to take our family portraits. We should take him out and let him enjoy whatever he wants."

The old man offered a soft smile, looking at his two children.

"It isn't time yet," Siwoo said suddenly, her voice flat.

Raven turned to her, his brow furrowing in confusion. "Why are you suddenly turning it down? You were the one pushing hardest for this! Is something going on?"

Siwoo turned her head slowly, her sharp eyes scanning Raven, Yoon, and Eunwoo one by one.

"I just feel like it isn't time yet," Siwoo repeated,

for now, let's just make sure the child is safe and—"

"Siwoo," her father interrupted gently, cutting her off as he lifted a thin, trembling hand.

He pointed down at the transparent medical tube running into his chest—the life-support apparatus keeping his failing body stable.

"Remember, this is the only thing keeping me alive," the old man said, his voice laced with a quiet, heavy sorrow. "I am getting weaker and weaker with every passing day. By the time you decide it's finally 'time,' I may not even have the strength left to stand. Or would you rather watch your father sit in a wheelchair for our family portrait?"

The heavy words hung in the air. Feeling a sharp pang of guilt, Siwoo leaned over, placing a gentle, reassuring hand on her father's shoulder.

"No, Father... never," she whispered softly. "I promise you, we will do this family trip in two days' time."

Raven turned around in his seat, staring at Siwoo with a raised eyebrow. "Two days? You're promising that nothing will stand in the way this time?"

Siwoo offered a faint, reassuring smile. "I promise."

Siwoo glanced towards the door of the main house.

"I have somewhere I need to be right now," she said, gathering her coat. "I might not be back tonight."

Before Raven or her father could ask another question, she opened the door and stepped out into the afternoon air
