Chapter 19: Help him lie

Victoria couldn't help but tremble. However, after taking a glance at Heidi's smug face and then at Bella's disgusted expression, Victoria felt that it was worth it to vent her anger.

Brandon didn't want to stay long and left quickly.

Heidi immediately jumped over. "Wow, is your husband here to stand up for you? Oh my god, he's so handsome!"

Bella and the others had been insulting Victoria earlier, so they were scared and ran away. Master Miller still looked confused and asked Victoria, "Was that Brandon just now? Victoria, why did you call him here?"

Heidi said, "Leave the kids' business to the kids. And,don't ever invite disgusting trash like Diana again."

"..."

Heidi turned around and hugged Victoria, saying, "Brandon is so good to you. Didn't you see Diana's face just now? It was so satisfying!"

"What's so good about it..."

Victoria knew that she might not have a good time when she went back. Maybe she could delay going back, avoid him, and run back to her room. Perhaps she could escape unscathed tonight.

She purposely wanted to come back later that night, but when Brandon returned home, he was surprised to see that the Duncan Family's old lady had come again. The old lady looked at Brandon and said, "Why did I hear from your aunt that you have a woman outside? Brandon! It seems like you're regressing!"

The old lady was very unhappy and slammed her hand, wearing a jade bracelet, on the table.

Brandon frowned.

Was Fernando so angry that he had to go back and complain to his aunt?

But seeing the old lady with white hair and so angry, Brandon quickly said, "Don't listen to idle gossip. You taught me to repay kindness. That woman saved me, and I just let her stay in the villa to repay her."

The old lady was skeptical and glared at him. "What about your wife? I haven't seen her since she came back. Don't try to fool me.

You must have sent her away."

Brandon wanted to say that the woman was inside, but he remembered that she had gone out today.

"She went out with her friends."

"Do you still want to fool me? Do you think I'm old and easily fooled?" The old lady's face was clearly turning red, and it seemed like she was really angry.

Brandon cursed in his heart. Why did that woman have to go out today if she could have gone out any other day?

"I'll call someone back right away, and when they come back, you'll know," he said.

Victoria had planned to stay out a little later tonight, thinking that he would be asleep and wouldn't cause any trouble. But just as he sat down to eat, Brandon called.

"Come home," he said.

"I don't..." Victoria's body tensed. "You should go to sleep. I finally got a chance to come out and play a little longer."

He came to her door so quickly. It seemed like he still cared about Diana.

"I told you to come back," Brandon's voice was filled with suppressed anger. She could even imagine the expression on his face as he gritted his teeth on the other end of the phone.

"What are you going to do?

Don't be so petty..." Victoria was scared.

Brandon finally calmed down. "I'm not trying to get back at you. My grandmother is here."

Victoria was stunned.

He shouldn't be lying to her to get her to come home.

Victoria hurriedly said goodbye and returned to the villa. Brandon stopped her outside and whispered, "My grandmother suspects that I'm keeping a mistress outside. If you say the wrong thing and upset her, be careful..."

He made a gesture of wiping his neck and his eyes were cold and hard, making people shudder.

Was he trying to get Victoria to help him act?

"Do you understand?"

"That's a different price," Victoria quickly seized the opportunity to bargain when she saw Brandon's eyes flicker.

"You..." Brandon wanted to strangle this woman, but he couldn't.

Seeing his expression, Victoria knew that he had to compromise, so she quickly said, "Don't hold it against me for what happened today."

Brandon's lips tightened and his sexy cold eyes flickered. Finally, he said heavily, "If you behave well, I will consider it."

Victoria breathed a sigh of relief. It was fortunate that the old lady arrived just in time and saved her life.

"Grandmother, Victoria is back."

Brandon led her inside, and the old lady looked up and carefully examined Victoria. The elderly woman with white hair looked very kind when she smiled. Victoria couldn't help but feel a fondness for her. She smiled brightly and said, "Grandmother."

The old lady was taken aback by the title. They usually called her "grandmother," but she had heard that ordinary people outside called their grandmothers "grandmother."

"Oh, this is my daughter-in-law. Come here quickly," the old lady said.

"Grandma, my name is Victoria. You can call me Victoria. That's what my family and friends call me."

"Victoria, what a beautiful name. It's as bright as the sun. I like it." She held Victoria’s hand. This girl was beautiful, and her smile was genuine, which was rare in the Duncan Family's den of thieves. She knew best what kind of eyes were full of fake emotions and what kind were sincere.

This girl was not fake at all, and it made her like her even more.

She was satisfied in her heart and praised her endlessly. Victoria sat down with her and kept talking. "Brandon told me about you. He said you are a very kind person."

"He only knows how to talk. How is he treating you?"

"He...he's treating me well. He gives me food and a place to stay. He even arranged a room for me to draw. Today, someone bullied me outside, and he went out of his way to help me."

Was she talking about her cold grandson Brandon?

The old lady looked up and glanced at the wooden stake behind her, which was staring at her with a warning look.

"Finally, you've come to your senses... Victoria, this child has had a hard life. He lost his mother when he was young and had a car accident. Everyone thought he wouldn't wake up, but he did as soon as he married you. It shows that you are also lucky. You two should work hard and have a child as soon as possible, so that Brandon will have an heir. Then no one will want to mess with him again."

"Speed up and work harder," she said with a chuckle. Victoria couldn't help but look up at Brandon, who was equally surprised.
