Chapter 242
A warm feeling spread through me, and whatever embarrassment or annoyance I had completely faded away.
"Alright, since you know what's good for you, I'll forgive you this time."
"Thank you, honey."
When I stepped out of the bedroom, my eyes immediately landed on the feast laid out on the big round dining table.
The tempting aroma kept wafting toward me.
Without wasting time, I walked over, took a seat, and waved at Jason, "Come eat."
"Coming."
Jason came over as I said.
The The crab roe was soft and rich, melting the moment it touched my tongue. Its deep flavor spread through my mouth and lingered, almost like it was dancing across my taste buds.
I let out a satisfied sigh without thinking. "This is so good. I wish I could eat this every day."
Jason looked at me and replied casually, as if it were the simplest thing in the world. "If you want, we can just stay here all the time."
But I shook my head, "Forget it. Even fancy food gets boring after a while. Coming here once in a while is nice though. Next time let's bring Jessica. She'd definitely love it."
Jason agreed, "Then let's pack some to take back this time."
After eating our fill, Jason and I left the room.
Although this was a hot spring resort, it also had a specially built indoor heated water park.
Looking at the attractions inside, I couldn't help but sigh again, "We really should have brought Jessica. She would definitely love playing here."
Jason tightened his hold on my hand slightly. "There are age and height restrictions here. Jessica doesn't meet either one. If she came, she could only watch us play."
He gently pulled me into the water and turned to look at me, "I remember you can't swim. Want to take this chance to try learning?"
I quickly put on a swim ring and shook my head, "No, I don't. I don't feel safe in the water. Without a swim ring, I'd die."
"You have me, your husband. I'll hold you up."
Jason said.
I was already floating comfortably on the water, supported by the steady buoyancy of the swim ring.
"Right now, forget about husband. No matter who it is, they can't give me as much security as this swim ring."
The moment those words left my mouth, the atmosphere around us instantly got colder.
I lifted my eyelids to check his reaction.
Jason's handsome face had darkened, his expression clearly displeased.
I reached out to pinch his cheek, both amused and helpless, "Are you seriously jealous of a swim ring?"
His voice came out low and a little stiff. "Apparently, I'm not as important as it."
Jason suddenly grabbed my hand and bit my wrist.
I gasped in pain and pulled my hand back. Looking at the clear teeth marks on my wrist, I couldn't help complaining, "Are you a dog? Always biting people."
He looked completely unfazed. "I'm just marking my territory."
Before I could react, Jason moved closer, lifted my chin, and leaned down to kiss me, "I'm the most important person to my wife."
There were many people at the water park, and his action immediately attracted quite a bit of attention.
"Hot guy and beautiful girl combo!"
"This is so pleasing to the eye. Please God, let me and my partner be matched like this in my next life."
I shyly pushed Jason away and lowered my voice, "There are so many people here. Can you tone it down a bit?"
I really didn't want to become the center of attention.
Jason didn't insist and let me go easily.
I didn't want to leave my swim ring, so Jason stayed by my side, using his body to block every person of the opposite sex who came near.
Seeing how tired he was getting, I went ashore after not playing for long.
"Honey, those snacks over there look really good. Let's go try them."
I pointed at the snack stand not far away.
Jason had no objection.
As soon as we sat down, I saw a somewhat familiar figure in the distance leaning on a lounge chair, with two men serving her on either side.
"Is that Flora?"
Surprise crept into my voice. "Isn't the Miller family about to go bankrupt? Flora still has the mood to live it up here?"
Jason followed my gaze and glanced over in the same direction.
He only took a quick look before turning away, clearly uninterested.
"Even if she tried hard, it wouldn't help. Everyone in the circle knows Flora is useless."
There was no attempt to hide the disdain in his tone when he spoke about Flora.
I nodded slightly, "You're right. Let's just enjoy ourselves and ignore her."
"Okay, whatever you say."
Jason nodded in agreement.
The snacks were delicious, but the spice was much stronger than I expected.
I was gasping from the heat.
Jason patted my head and stood up, "Wait here for me. I'll go buy some water."
"Okay, hurry up. It's really spicy."
I nodded repeatedly, fanning my face with my hand.
I thought Jason would be back soon.
But I waited and waited, and Jason didn't come back.
Eventually, the snacks in front of me were getting cold.
Where was he?
I was quite puzzled.
When we entered the water park, our phones were all stored in lockers outside.
Without my phone, there was no way I could reach Jason.
After waiting for quite some time, I finally couldn't sit still any longer and decided to go look for him myself.
Even if I couldn't find him, I could at least head back to the lockers and get my phone.
After searching the water park, I didn't find Jason.
I was wondering how Jason could get lost buying water when my eyes suddenly caught sight of a familiar figure in the distance.
It was Jason.
From far away, I couldn't see his expression clearly.
I quickened my pace toward Jason.
"Honey..."
"Jason!"
Flora's excited voice interrupted me.
She didn't see me and ran toward Jason excitedly.
Flora was wearing a bikini that showed a lot of skin.
Many people around were looking at her, but she seemed completely unaware. With a bright smile on her face, she went up to Jason.
"Jason, what a coincidence! I didn't expect to see you here! Doesn't this mean we're really meant to be?"
Now that I was closer, I could clearly see the annoyance on Jason's face.
His thin lips uttered one word, "Get lost."
Flora's expression changed slightly as she forced out a smile.
"Jason, why are you so cold? We've met before. Don't you remember?"
"I remember."
Jason nodded slightly.
Joy flashed in Flora's eyes. Before she could speak, Jason added, "After all, you're too disgusting."
I couldn't help but laugh out loud.
I didn't expect Jason to remember the words I used to mock Flora.
My voice attracted both their attention.
Jason's eyes lit up as he quickly walked up to me.
He put his arm around me, "Honey, I'm sorry. Did I make you wait too long?"
I nodded, but before I could finish speaking, Flora's shrill voice cut me off.
"Sue! When will you stop? Now you're shamelessly making Jason call you honey. Have you no shame?"
I looked at her helplessly.
"My husband calling me honey, what's wrong with that?"
Flora's eyes were about to pop out, "Shameless! Jason is not your husband. You're just dating. Jason will be my man in the future."
I retorted. "Who's the shameless one saying things like that? How can someone publicly admit to coveting someone else's man? Isn't that cheap?"
