Chapter 356 Accompany to Attend the Dinner
In the elevator, Seraphina, Demetrius, and Gavin were all silent.
The atmosphere wasn't awkward though—all three were sensible adults.
Seraphina's round figure stood steadily right next to Demetrius, who was tall and slender with an unapproachable, cold demeanor.
Gavin glanced at the tall one and the short one, finding it oddly amusing.
The elevator reached the 30th floor.
As a junior assistant, Seraphina respectfully let Demetrius, the important guest, exit first.
Demetrius strode out with his long legs.
Gavin nodded his thanks to Seraphina.
During this time at the company, Seraphina had been getting along well with everyone and handling things in an organized manner.
After work that evening, Stefan drove to Seraphina Enterprises to pick her up.
Since they needed to discuss something, they decided to just buy fast food and eat at Stefan's rented place.
In the living room.
Stefan gently peeled off the chicken skin and ate it himself, then handed the chicken leg to Seraphina.
She didn't like eating chicken skin.
He glanced at Seraphina and spoke up gently, "Dione, about what you mentioned on the phone today—are you serious? You want me to quit my job?"
Seraphina took the chicken leg and nodded. "Stefan, I really don't like you having too much contact with her. Do you think I'm being unreasonable? But I get jealous, which means I like you."
Stefan fell silent.
Seraphina blinked and also fell silent.
The two stared at each other quietly for a few seconds.
Stefan reached out, his slender fingers stopping Seraphina as she was about to drink cola. "You can't drink that. Drink plain water."
He took away the cola bottle and gave her the cup of plain water, his handsome face gentle. "Chairwoman Johnson is already married."
Seraphina nodded. "I know she's married, but I still don't want you having contact with her. She's beautiful, and I feel insecure—I tend to overthink things."
Of course, Seraphina wasn't really insecure.
Stefan raised an eyebrow. He understood Seraphina's optimistic personality. He chuckled softly, "Okay, I'll quit."
Seraphina emphasized, "I'm not being unreasonable—I'm discussing this with you properly!"
Stefan nodded cooperatively. "You're jealous because you like me. I'm happy about that."
Seraphina smiled. "Stefan, you're so good to me."
After dinner, they watched a romantic movie at home. Seraphina checked the time—it was past nine. "I need to go home."
Stefan: Was his charm really that low?
He deliberately pulled open his collar, revealing his sexy collarbone, showing off like a peacock.
He smiled gently with a touch of sadness. "Okay, I'll take you home."
Seraphina had the desire but not the courage. She was worried she might pounce on Stefan boldly, so she quickly gathered her things to go home and lock herself away.
Stefan drove Seraphina to Port City Garden, then accompanied her inside to take the elevator, and even walked her to her door. He watched her open the door and go inside before leaving.
When Seraphina got home, she saw Elizabeth and Timothy both turn to look at her at the same time.
"Mom, Dad, why are you looking at me like that?" Seraphina looked down at herself, wondering if something was wrong.
Elizabeth smiled casually, pretending nothing was up. "You're back?"
Seraphina played along with the question. "I'm back."
She sat down next to Elizabeth, her eyes crinkling with a smile. "Dad, what you said made a lot of sense. I already talked to Stefan about quitting his job, and he agreed."
Timothy nodded lightly. It seemed Stefan was barely acceptable for now.
Elizabeth raised an eyebrow but didn't call out Timothy, who had been constantly worried about whether Seraphina could handle this well.
As parents, Elizabeth and Timothy would always worry about whether Seraphina had met a man truly worth entrusting herself to.
The next day.
Stefan brought documents into Sloane's office and mentioned that he was planning to resign.
Sloane stopped her work in surprise, her eyes filled with confusion. "Mr. Hensley, can you tell me why?"
During this time, she had really recognized Stefan's work abilities and hoped to keep him if possible.
Stefan's lips curved into a smile. "I want to find a job that my girlfriend can feel comfortable with."
Sloane immediately understood what Stefan meant. She was shocked by his answer. "You can tell her I'm already married."
She was married and his girlfriend still wasn't comfortable?
Sloane didn't know whether to feel sorry for Stefan having such a possessive girlfriend or to envy him.
Stefan just smiled without answering.
Sloane knew his mind was made up and he would definitely resign. She couldn't possibly find a new special assistant right away.
She discussed with Stefan, "Mr. Hensley, can you stay for one more month? We need to find someone new and handle the handover."
Stefan knew it wouldn't be right to leave without a proper handover. He thought about it—Seraphina should agree to one month. "Sure."
Sloane breathed a sigh of relief and smiled. "Thank you."
With that matter temporarily resolved, Sloane brought up something else. "Can you accompany me to Mr. Graham's dinner party tonight?"
