Chapter 204: Difficult
Valerio looked back at his best friend and saw that Valerie was deep in her thoughts, fidgeting with the rings on her fingers with a sad scowl on her lips and a look of confusion on her face.
He sighed.
Valerio was angry at Draven. He was angry at the way things were and how everytime that something turned bad, there wasn't a solution to make anything better again.
He hated not being of use. He hated not being able to help her when she needed help the most.
But seeing the way Marianne was smiling at him, he knew that at the moment, all Valerie needed was support and unconditional love and loyalty.
And that was something he could easily do.
"Lia?" He called out, taking her hand in his own.
She nodded, not looking up at his face, "hmm?"
"Are you planning to keep the baby?" He asked in a gentle voice.
"I don't know yet."
"Will you tell Draven?"
"I'm afraid." She answered in all honesty.
"Well, whatever you decide, just know that you will always have me by your side. No matter what you choose to do." He whispered softly too her, giving her hand a squeeze. "You don't have to face anything alone, I promise."
"You won't judge me if I decide not to keep the baby?" She asked, and it was clearly visible in her eyes how scared she truly was.
"It's your choice, Valerie. No one can judge you on what you choose to do with your own body. And anyone who does will have their throat ripped out by me." He affirmed.
Valerie smiled, looking at him with tear filled eyes as she smiled briefly towards her mother as well.
The truth was, she really didn't know what she was going to do about this whole situation.
