Chapter 30 Chapter 30: "Know Your Place!"
Balthazar noticed that Ryan genuinely didn’t know about his relationship with Selena. He thought to himself, perhaps she had been deceiving both of them.
Very well. If that’s the case, he wouldn’t hesitate to expose her deceitful face.
"No, I came here to find someone."
He then turned to her and said, "I think you haven’t forgotten our agreement. Someone like you should know what’s appropriate and what’s not, right?"
"What are you talking about? Who are you calling that? What do you mean, Balthazar?" Ryan’s eyes widened in shock.
Balthazar sneered, sat down beside her, and pulled her into his embrace. Then he grabbed her chin, squeezing her lips, and kissed her hard. This kiss made Ryan, sitting across from them, feel deeply uncomfortable.
Fortunately, there were very few customers in the café at the time, mostly people working quietly, so no one paid attention to the three of them. Selena didn’t resist, letting the man next to her kiss her. She knew he was angry again.
After a few seconds, he let her go and casually said, "As you can see, she’s my escort. Whether I want to kiss her or do anything else, she’ll gladly oblige. Even if I want to make love to her right here, she will obediently take off her panty."
Ryan looked at Selena in disbelief. "Selena, is that true?"
Selena didn’t answer, her eyes cast downward. At this moment, Balthazar became even more outrageous, sliding his hand under her shirt to grope her breasts as if no one else was around.
"I know she’s deceived you, Ryan. She’s despicable and unworthy of your affection."
After a pause, Balthazar added, "If you want, I can lend her to you for a few days."
"No, thanks." Ryan stood up.
"I’ve got things to do. See you next time."
With that, he went to the counter to pay and left swiftly. Balthazar watched his friend’s retreating figure, then dragged Selena outside. After tossing her into the car, he smirked.
"You just let a big fish slip away. Pity, isn’t it?"
Selena remained silent, keeping her head down as he insulted her. She didn’t know what she was feeling at the moment—perhaps discomfort, perhaps helplessness.
"I met him twice, and we barely talked for five minutes before you arrived. We’re not even friends, so I didn’t break the contract."
In truth, she didn’t want to explain herself to this man, but she was afraid he’d tear up the contract. If that happened, all her efforts over the past month would go to waste.
Of course, Balthazar didn’t believe her. He said, "How convenient. Out of all the people you could run into, it had to be the son of the real estate king."
Suddenly, Balthazar grabbed Selena’s hair, forcing her to look directly into his eyes.
"You better know your place. A whore dreaming of marrying into a rich family? Today, I’ll show you what someone like you is supposed to do."
With that, he started the car and sped down the street. It was already nighttime, and the city was bustling with life. This was the prime time for the luxurious playgrounds of the wealthy.
After a long drive, the car finally stopped in front of a nightclub. The bouncers quickly came to greet them, but Balthazar ignored them. He forcefully dragged Selena inside and headed straight for the VIP room.
"Balthazar’s here, huh? And who’s this?"
In front of them was a group of young men—not the regulars from the bar, but a crowd with eyes as cold as Balthazar’s.
One of them looked at Selena and smirked, "What a surprise. I thought you’d be a monk for life after your ex-girlfriend left. Turns out you’ve got yourself a new girl?"
Balthazar sat down on the long sofa, and Selena obediently sat close to him. Her appearance was striking, making the men around them stare at her.
But Balthazar didn’t care and said, "She’s my woman. She’s very skilled, so I wanted to introduce her to you guys."
As soon as they heard this, their expressions changed. If Selena were his girlfriend, they wouldn’t dare touch her. But if she was just a sugar baby…
Many of them immediately showed their desire, which made Selena extremely uncomfortable. Balthazar noticed her discomfort, and a tightness began to form in his chest.
Selena felt deeply wronged. She had followed Kelly’s advice, obediently catering to Balthazar, tending to his every need in the hopes that he would develop some fondness for her. Just a little affection would be enough to drive Amelia mad with jealousy.
She knew her beauty was all she had to attract others, but no one would truly love her. If that supreme god hadn’t coldly cast her aside after she bore his child, at least she wouldn’t have been met with such suspicion and disdain.
At that moment, a playboy picked up a bottle of wine, filled a glass to the brim, and pushed it toward Selena.
“It’s rare for Mr. Winchester to bring such a beauty along. Why don’t you drink with us as a way to introduce yourself?"
Selena stared at the overflowing glass in front of her, feeling an intense resistance. Sensing her hesitation, the playboy pressed further:
“If you don’t drink, it means you don’t respect us. Drink up! Who knows, if Mr. Winchester dumps you, we might still support you."
As soon as he finished speaking, a sharp glare from Balthazar cut through the air, silencing him. Balthazar then leaned close to Selena’s ear and whispered:
“If you embarrass me, I’ll throw you out."
Selena bit her lip, gripping the hem of her dress tightly. She knew this man meant what he said. Even though there was a signed contract between them, could she really take it to the police and accuse him? She’d probably end up being charged with prostitution.
So, Selena took a deep breath, picked up the glass, and drank it all.
“Cough, cough, cough..."
She coughed violently. The alcohol burned her insides, twisting her stomach in knots, making her want to vomit. Her head started to spin, and her mind was no longer clear.
Balthazar frowned. This wasn’t even a strong drink. She was a woman of the night, so how could her tolerance be so low? She must be faking it to get his attention.
“Haha, you’re amazing! Come on, have another glass."
