Chapter 25 Chapter 25: Turning Black into White
Balthazar sat back down on the sofa, looking at the delicious, fragrant food spread out before him. He glanced up at Selena's face, devoid of any makeup. Though she hadn’t served him yet, the discomfort in his heart had already dissipated.
“Did you really dress yourself up like that for my sake? Don’t women always want to look their best at all times?"
Selena shook her head and replied:
“I told you from the beginning, I won’t do anything that makes you uncomfortable."
Balthazar said nothing more and picked up his chopsticks to start eating. The food she made suited his taste, and given his good mood, he ended up eating quite a lot. Selena, watching him from the side, picked up a piece of cake from the box next to her and took a bite.
“This cake tastes okay, but it’s too sweet, and the mango filling doesn’t really work. Where did you get it?"
“My ex-girlfriend made it." Balthazar replied.

Wasn’t Balthazar’s ex-girlfriend Amelia?

Selena immediately spat the cake into a napkin, glaring at Balthazar. He was surprised by her reaction, but after a moment of processing, he asked:
“Are you... jealous?"
After spitting out the cake in her mouth, Selena rinsed her mouth, then returned to the office, glaring at Balthazar with eyes like bullets.
Did this man deliberately wait for her to eat before speaking?
Seeing this reaction from Selena, Balthazar found it amusing. If she had any ulterior motives, she would have made sarcastic remarks about his ex-girlfriend and boosted her own image, but here she was, openly showing disdain. Wasn’t she afraid her benefactor would be angry?
"Why are you reacting so strongly? Jealous?" Balthazar raised an eyebrow.
Selena wanted to say, "Who wouldn’t choke on cake from someone who stole their husband?" but the words stuck in her throat. Instead, she muttered, "I don’t like it, it’s not good."
Balthazar couldn’t help but laugh, his mood improving. His appetite also grew, and before long, the entire meal was finished. Selena tidied up the table and was about to put on her old-fashioned sun protection gear to head home when he pulled her back.
"My stomach is full, but my manhood isn’t. Feed it."
Selena pouted. This man was definitely living off his lower half, already full but still wanting more. Wasn’t he afraid that too much physical exertion would lead to a stroke?
Despite these thoughts, Selena obediently catered to him. Once again, he kissed her, and after one try, he was hooked; her lips were truly delicious.
Afterwards, when everything was done, Selena left the high-rise building, her body worn out and her lips swollen. Fortunately, he had enough conscience to ask his assistant to drive her home.
However, neither Balthazar nor Selena expected that a staff member had secretly taken a photo of the two eating together in the office. The picture was quickly posted in the company’s group chat. Though it was soon deleted, many had already saved it.
At this moment, Amelia was sitting in William’s office. He was discussing work with a subordinate, so she obediently waited on the side. Just then, her phone rang. She secretly opened it and saw the photo of Balthazar being intimate with another woman. Though the face wasn’t clear, the joyful smile on his face pierced her heart.
Damn it! The moment she turned her back, he brought another woman in? No wonder he had been so distant with her—it was because of someone else.
Fury consumed Amelia. She married William for power, but she truly loved Balthazar. She couldn’t tolerate him betraying her.
Her body trembled, her chest heaving with anger. She would never forgive anyone who betrayed her trust.
"What’s wrong?"
A voice interrupted her thoughts. Amelia took a deep breath, trying to calm herself, then looked up to meet William’s suspicious gaze.
"I... I’m fine. Just a bit of a headache."
Normally, William would have shown concern, but this time he merely sat on the sofa, coldly watching her, devoid of his usual tenderness.
"Must be the air in the W building, specifically the chairman’s office, that doesn’t agree with you, right?"
Amelia panicked, ready to deny it, but under William’s sharp gaze, she didn’t have the courage. He continued,
"I know Balthazar was your ex-boyfriend, but you’re my wife now. Are you still clinging to your old flame? Do you want to go back to him?"
"No… I don’t."
Amelia rushed to William’s side, tears welling up.
"I never had any intention of betraying you. I swear to heaven and earth, I only love you. Back then, you abandoned me, so I grabbed onto someone, but I never had feelings for him. In fact, I didn’t even let him hold my hand."
Luckily, she had remained chaste until the end. The bloodstain on the white sheet from their wedding night had secured her place in the Sterling family, and now it served as a sharp weapon to salvage her husband’s trust at this critical moment.
Sure enough, after hearing her out, William’s expression softened, though suspicion still lingered. Unless she could explain why she had been in the chairman’s office at W, he wouldn’t fully trust her.
Amelia’s eyes darted around, recalling the intimate photo of Balthazar with another woman. Her gaze darkened as she tearfully said,
"I was forced, really. He threatened to spread lies about me, claiming we did intimate things while we were together. He even had fake photos made. Though they’re not real, I was afraid you’d misunderstand, so I went to confront him."
Tears streamed down her face as she collapsed into William’s arms.
"I was so scared when I went to see him, but I was even more afraid of losing you. It took us so long to be together, I don’t want to lose you again..."
With that, Amelia broke down into sobs. William, who loved her deeply, felt his initial anger dissipate, leaving only pity. He sighed, pulling her into a comforting embrace.
"Don’t be scared. I won’t let anyone threaten my wife. I’ll ruin Balthazar’s life, make sure he can never return to this country."
Hearing this, Amelia was startled, but her expression quickly turned vicious.
