Chapter 36
Miney and the other women stood back and their men stepped in front of them as the sisters were screaming and shouting.
When the Knoxville city police showed up, the two sisters started crying.
The police officer who had shown up was radioing for backup. He wasn't going to be the one to fight these women. The backup he had called for were two female detectives. They were known for their toughness and lack of tolerance for any type of bulls**t.
When they arrived, the two sisters were handcuffed. Which started them screaming even more. What was worse, for all of their theatrics, not a single tear fell. One of the female detectives got up in the older sister's face and said in a low and harsh tone, "Shut the hell up. Save your screams for some when we actually put you in a cell."
The older sister looked at her and realized that she was serious. "You can't arrest up. Not only are we rich, but my daddy won't stand for it." She said, laughing.
The detective looked at her and said, "Really?"
"Yes. Really. He's never let us go to jail before. The things that we had done..."
"Jessica! Shut your mouth right now!" her father said angrily.
"But Daddy, it's true. You've never let us go to jail. You always pay someone to keep us out and we always walk right out." Jessica said, smirking.
"You are a freaking idiot! You just confess to knowing about police corruption to a cop!" her sister yelled at her.
Jessica's father was standing there with his head in his hands. He knew that the two female detectives and the police officer were watching him.
"I think it's time to take everyone to jail and sort this out at the station." He said.
The police officer walked over to the four men. "Sirs, I'm afraid the two ladies will have to come to. But you can bring them down there and I can get yours and their statements. Also, the hotel manager has given me a flash drive with a copy of the lobby footage. I believe he said that it even had sound." turning to walk away, the officer realized something and walked back to the group. "Mr. Frazier, I apologize if this gentleman is one of your group. If he is not, I would think twice about doing business with him." Handing him a card with his name, rank and phone number on it, he walked away to go get into a police car and stay away.
Graeham reached for Agnes and pulled her close. All of the men did the same thing with their mates.
"Welcome to the world of the rich and shameless. This is, unfortunately, a common occurrence. Seeing families like this, and girls, grown women really, not knowing or caring how to act." Graeham looked over at Charlotte who was deep in the arms of her mate, and said, "I am so thankful that my grandchildren were raised with a strong sense of right and wrong and that a good reputation is often the only thing that will get you anywhere."
Charlotte looking up over at her grandfather said, "It's true. I can't think of all of the times that he told me that I wanted to be taken seriously by anyone, especially a man, that I needed to learn first, to respect myself, then the rules, then others. The rules are there for a reason, Charlotte. Better to abide by them than not and suffer the consequences."
The hotel manager had walked up to him and whispered in his ear. When the manager stepped away, her grandfather ushered them all outside to where a stretch limo was waiting on them.
After they all got into the limousine, Graeham addressed them all. "I'm sure you ladies are hungry after your busy day. But, we really need to address this situation. I will take us out to dinner somewhere. It probably won't be fancy, but I promise good food." They all nodded in agreement. The women wanted this over with. Jaxson and Rio would have liked to forget about the two women. But, looking at Charlotte's and Amber's faces, he knew that wasn't going to happen. They had been the most wronged. Unbelievable so. If this has been in a clan, pack or dean, and a female had acted like that. It would have been accepted as a challenge to their mate and their mate's position. Charlotte and Amber would have created a bloodbath.
Jaxson smiled at the thought.
"What's got you smiling over there? It's a little creepy, that smile." Rio said, breaking the silence in the vehicle.
"I was just thinking what would have happened if those two women had pulled that stunt at home. They would have essentially been challenging Amber and Charlotte. For both their position and us, as mates." Jaxson replied, snickering, "It would have been a bloodbath. Can you see those two being able to do anything against our girls? Amber is qualified in a lot of stuff. But, Charlotte's had a lifetime of training." Jaxson grinned and said, "I almost wish that I could have seen it play out like that. Might even ask the officer if we can put them in some cells and watch."
"Man, and I thought I was ruthless." Graeham said, shaking his head at Jaxson's words, but still grinning.
"Graeham, when it comes to our mates, we don't slack. If those two girls had been shifter pups or cubs, they would have never acted like that. Our women know better. A mate is a mate for life, and a position is only vacated if the person filling it is found to be incompetent, retires or dies. So, no, as bad as it sounds, what Jaxson is saying is true. Those girls would have been torn apart by the females they wronged. Then the mate's family or the mate themselves, were also allowed to pass a type of judgment on them. A punishment, if you will." Ander said.
"Isn't that a bit harsh?" Agnes asked.
"Shifters rule through strength. There was a time when we were more wild than civilized. We lived in our fur more than in our skin. These laws and rules come from that time and they have served us well for the most part. A pack of animals that is of any size, needs stability. That stability comes through rule. But, the leadership must be righteous. It cannot be corrupt or self-centered. It must always be focused on the members and the ability to lead them correctly." Anders stated.
Before anyone else could comment, they had pulled up in front of the police station. As they were going in, the metal detectors were going off and cops surrounded them with their weapons drawn.
Graeham was incensed. How could they not realize that he and his family would have private security? Not only that, but he would bring them with him and that they would be armed.
Amber resolved the issue quickly. She drew her badge out and identified herself as a federal officer. She got some disbelieving looks and a bit of backtalk.
"These people are here to answer some questions about an incident at the Tennessean Hotel not too long ago. We are all here to give our statement to this person" Amber reached out and handed the card to the officer in the front.
He had someone call down to the officer, who said that he would come up and escort them to his area. The five man security detail were told to hand over their weapons.
Hunter looked at the police officer and said, "One, you don't have a single tote or bin big enough to hold all of the weapons we're carrying. Two, we are federally licensed to carry anywhere in this country with one exception. Would you like to guess where that exception is?"
The police officer in question frowned and said, "I need to run your IDs."
Hunter stood with his hand out waiting for the other four men to hand him their IDs. Once he had them, he handed them to the officer. Then he said, "Mr. Frazier and his company go nowhere without us. And I do mean nowhere."
"Andrews, what the hell are you doing?" Let these folks go. Do you have any idea who that man is?" The officer from the hotel said.
"But sir,...."
"No! Hand them back their IDs and wave them through. That's Graeham Frazier and his family and friends."
The overzealous officer handed Hunter back the IDs and waved everyone through. Several people set off the metal detector as the passed through it and smiled as they passed by the man that had been forced to allow them in.
Following the officer down the hall, Graeham finally asked him his name.
"Ryan,, sir. Ryan Stephens, detective first grade." He had stopped and offered his hand to Graeham and the other men. Looking to the rear, he addressed the security detail. "I am sorry about earlier in the entrance. In all the commotion, I forgot to tell them that a VIP was coming through with their own security. That whole mess is my fault."
Graeham never responded, letting the officer know of his displeasure. When they turned a corner, they entered an area that had desks and a few glass walled offices at the back. Ryan walked to one of these and held the door open and said, "How do you want to do this?"
"I think Rio, Amber, Charlotte and I should go first since we were there when it started." Jaxson said. Turning to Graeham, he asked, "Do you mind doing it that way? Might be quicker."
"Agreed. No, you four go ahead and give your statements and we can move on from there." He replied. "The rest of us will wait out here for our turn."
Jaxson and Rio nodded, then shut the down and sat Charlotte and Amber in the two chairs provided, while the two men stood behind their mates.
Ryan had to admit, the men were huge and gave off an aura of danger. They were not someone that he wanted to cross. Bother wore a look that only people who had seen too much death wore.
Finishing up quickly, He called in the next four. When he finished, he called the hotel manager who had emailed him his statement, along with the concierge and the front desk attendant.
"Well, I think that will be all for now. I may have some more questions. I have to, I'll call."
The men nodded to the officer and left. Ran watched as two of the security crew took each side, one took point and the last two took the rear.
Charlotte breathed a sigh of relief as they left the police station. "I am so glad that is over." She was about to say that she was hungry when her stomach and Amber's growled loudly.
"Well, I think it's time to eat. Let's go find something. Anybody have any preferences?" Graeham asked.
Italian. Chinese. Mexican. BBQ. Everyone wanted something different. So he pulled out his phone and called the hotel. he spoke to the concierge and arranged for them to use the private dining room and have several different restaurants being food. That way, everyone had what they wanted and if someone changed their mind there was plenty.
"Do we have time to shower? I really need to have one and get out of these clothes and into something comfortable, like some leggings and a loose t-shirt., Charlotte asked her grandfather.
"I would imagine that you do. I'm sure the others would like to shower and change as well." Looking at the assembled couples, he said, " Try to take forever. You may get down there and there will be no food left." He laughed.
Charlotte and Amber turned bright red, while Miney just smiled and leaned into Anders.
When they pulled up to the entrance for the limo to let them out, the hotel manager was waiting. Walking up to Graeham, he said, "I spoke to Officer Stephens just a few minutes ago. The two young ladies were charged with sexual harassment and sexual assault for touching the two young men without their permission. Then, there are the damages that they evidently did to their room. The girls' father is charged with multiple counts. Too many to name. Most petty stuff, but it adds up."
Graeham thanked him and continued to his and Agnes's suite.
