Chapter 66 ROXY'S RETURN

Chapter 66 ROXY'S RETURN
Third person POV.

Roxy Briggs stepped out of her red sports car, designer heels clicking against the pavement as she approached Graham Corp's main entrance. She had spent hours perfecting her appearance: a bodyhug black dress that hugged every curve, her hair styled in loose waves, flawless makeup. Everything was properly done to remind Alexander of exactly what he was missing.

After their last encounter, Alex had been completely ignoring her.

The same Alexander Graham, the man who had sworn he would never get married, not only tied the knot in some secret court wedding, but was also living with her at his family home.

Roxy had laughed it off at first, certain it was just temporary, but it's been months and they're still together, .

The worst part was that, she had called him several times. Every call went to voicemail.

So here she was, ready to see this supposed wife for herself and remind Alexander that whatever game he was playing, Roxy Briggs wasn't someone he could just discard.

The lobby of Graham Corp gleamed with understated luxury. Roxy had been here before, many times, though always after hours when Alexander worked late. She'd never had reason to visit during business hours.

Until now.

She approached the reception desk, her confidence radiating like expensive perfume. The young receptionist looked up, eyes widening slightly at Roxy's striking appearance.

"Good afternoon Miss. How may I help you?"

"I'm here to see Alexander Graham." Roxy's tone left no room for argument. "Tell him Roxy is here."

The receptionist's professional smile faltered. "Uhm, Do you have an appointment, Miss?"

"I don't need an appointment." Roxy leaned forward slightly. "Just tell him I'm here. He'll see me."

"I'm sorry, but Mr. Graham's schedule is completely full today. If you'd like to make an appointment---"

"Listen carefully." Roxy snapped impatiently. "Alexander and I have a very close relationship. I'm sure he'll make time for me. So why don't you pick up that phone and actually do your job?"

The receptionist's cheeks flushed, but she maintained her composure. "One moment, please."

She picked up the phone, speaking quietly. Roxy examined her nails, already planning what she would say to Alexander. They had their arrangement for three years. He couldn't just end it without explanation, without even having the decency to tell her in person.

The receptionist hung up, her expression apologetic. "I'm sorry, Miss Briggs. Mr. Graham is unavailable at the moment, he says he can't see you now."

The words hit Roxy like a slap.

He said so casually?, as if it were the most normal thing in the world. As if Roxy hadn't been the woman warming his bed for the past three years.

"He can't see me?," Roxy repeated slowly, the words tasting bitter on her tongue.

"Yes, ma'am. Would you like to leave a message?"

Roxy's mind raced.

"I'll wait," she said firmly. "I'm sure he won't be long."

The receptionist looked uncomfortable but gestured toward the seating area. "You're welcome to wait, but I can't guarantee when Mr. Graham will be available."

Roxy settled into one of the plush chairs, crossing her legs and pulling out her phone. She scrolled through social media, searching for any information about Alexander's supposed wife. But got nothing. No announcements, no photos, no trace of a wedding.

Absolutely nothing.

It's definitely a business arrangement, she suspected. Alexander was probably helping some woman with immigration or a business deal. It had to be temporary.

Right??

Twenty minutes passed. Then thirty. Roxy's patience was wearing thin when the elevator doors suddenly opened.

And Roxy's breath caught in her throat.

The woman who stepped out was stunning. Not in the flashy, attention grabbing way Roxy cultivated, but in a natural, effortless way that made heads turn. Long dark hair fell in soft waves past her shoulders. She wore a simple but elegant dress that somehow made Roxy's designer outfit feel overdone.

But it was her face that truly struck Roxy---delicate features, those blue eyes, an almost ethereal quality that photographs could never quite capture.

Roxy recognized her immediately. It's Dandelion Williams. The actress who had been involved in that scandal months ago.

What was she doing here?

Dandelion carried an insulated lunch bag, walking with quiet confidence toward the reception desk. The same receptionist who had stonewalled Roxy immediately brightened.

"Mrs. Graham! Mr. Graham mentioned you would be stopping by. I'll let him know you're here."

Mrs. Graham?.

The title echoed in Roxy's mind, each syllable a small explosion of disbelief in her brain.

This was Alexander's wife? This disgraced actress with her scandal tainted reputation? Alexander had married her?

"Thank you, but that's not necessary," Dandelion said softly. "His grandmother insisted I bring him lunch. I'll just take it up."

"Of course. He's in his office on the top floor." The receptionist smiled brightly.

Dandelion smiled warmly, "Thank you," and headed toward the private elevator. The one only executives used. The one Roxy had never been allowed to use.

The moment Dandelion disappeared into the elevator, Roxy was on her feet, storming back to the reception desk.

"That's his wife?" She didn't bother hiding her shock. "Dandelion Williams?"

The receptionist's bright expression suddenly switched into an impatient expression. "I'm not at liberty to discuss Mr. Graham's personal life."

"But she's a nobody. A scandal ridden actress who slept her way to the top and got caught."

"Miss Briggs, I'm going to have to ask you to leave."

"I've been with Alexander for three years!" Roxy's voice rose, drawing attention from other people in the lobby. "Three years, and he throws me aside for some washed up actress playing wife?"

"Security will escort you out if necessary." The receptionist warned.

Roxy's hands clenched into fists. This wasn't happening. This couldn't be happening.

She thought of all the nights she spent with Alexander. The way he looked at her, touched her, even if he had never said the words she wanted to hear. She had been patient, waiting for him to realize what they could be together.

And now some disgraced actress had swooped in and stole what should have been hers?

"This isn't over," Roxy said quietly, dangerously. "Tell Alexander I stopped by. Tell him I'll be in touch."

She spun on her heel and walked out, her mind already racing with possibilities. If this marriage was real, she would expose it as the sham it had to be. If it was fake, she had to make sure it stayed that way.

Either way, Dandelion Williams was not going to steal Alexander Graham from her.

Roxy slid into her car, gripping the steering wheel hard enough to turn her knuckles white. She pulled out her phone and scrolled through her contacts until she found the number she needed.

Someone who could dig up everything on Dandelion Williams and this supposed marriage.

If Alexander thought he could replace her this easily, he was about to learn a very hard lesson.

Roxy Briggs didn't lose gracefully.

And she sure as hell didn't lose to some scandalous nobody who lucked into a billionaire's ring.

Dandelion.

I stepped into Alexander's office, with lunch bag in hand, and found him on a phone call. He looked up when I entered, his expression softening slightly before he gestured for me to sit.

"I'll have the contracts reviewed by end of day," he said into the phone. "Make sure the legal team sees them first. Alright."

He hung up and turned his full attention to me, a small smirk lurking on his lips. "So Noona forced you to play delivery service?"

"She insisted you need to eat proper meals." I set the lunch bag on his desk. "And that I should be the one to bring them since I'm your 'wife'."

The word still felt strange on my tongue.

"Tsk, she's relentless." But there was fondness in his voice.

"The receptionist seemed surprised to see me," I mentioned, unpacking the containers. "She called me Mrs. Graham."

"That's your name now you know."

"On paper." I reminded him.

Alexander stood, moving around the desk to where I stood. "Dandelion, about yesterday on set----"

"You don't need to explain." I continued unpacking the food. "It's fine."

"It's not fine. I guess I overreacted."

I finally looked up at him, surprised by the admission. "You were jealous."

"No I was protective. There's a difference."

"Hmm, is there?" I asked almost smiling, he definitely won't fully admit it.

His jaw tightened. "Your co-star was touching you."

"We were acting Alex, just acting."

"I know that. But watching him touch you, is really....Annoying even though it's just a scene, I guess it bothered me more than it should have." He muttered staring directly at me.

My heart did a traitorous little flip.

I shook my head in amusement at his petty defense, he just won't accept that he was jealous.

We stood there in his office, the lunch almost growing cold between us, and I wondered if we were still pretending this marriage was purely contractual.

Because it was starting to feel like something much more than that.
