Chapter 267
"Maybe we should get Doc to check her, Theo; she seems more uncomfortable than usual." He finishes plating our food and putting it on the table.
"I mind-linked Dad; he is coming by to check her and see about her pain levels," I said. The only reason I asked him is because my mom gave birth to a large number of pups, and he would know if something was off. As I shift her to lie on me, more Dad walks in and smiles.
"She looks cute." His hands cup her belly, and he concentrates; the fast movements stop, and the pups go calm.
"She said her back and feet hurt. "I watched him touch her belly gently.
"Theo, we both know our bloodlines run big, so these two pups will be big. Natalie is a very tiny person, so she will hurt more. I got the doc coming with better pain meds so she can have relief, but I think she needs to be monitored now." He stands just as the doc walks in looking worried. He got the ultrasound machine and a frazzled look.
"Any bleeding? Any cramping? Did she fall?" He pulls out his stethoscope.
"No bleeding. No cramping and no falls, just pain in her back and feet. I watch him get the machine booted up and gel out. I lift her shirt and smile at the cute baby bump. Natalie shivers but stays asleep as he puts the wand on her belly.
"Both look big, Alpha," he mutters. "She doesn't have much room left for them, and I can already tell the genders. "Would you like to know?" He looks away from the monitor to look at me, but I can't stop staring at our pups moving inside her.
"James, would you like to know, brother?" he smiles.
"Only if you do, Theo." He looks as mesmerized as I do, staring at our pups move. I smile.
"Yes, please," I say to Doc.
"I see a boy and a girl. "I feel so much joy. I almost cry. Dad hugs me and kisses my head. "Congrats, boys," he smiles.
"Thanks, Dad." I smile back. "Thanks for everything." He just smiles and walks out with Doc. I stare down at Natalie and feel so much happiness run through me.
"Fuck me, a boy and girl—we got lucky, brother." James sits near me, and I kiss Natalie again. After a few minutes, I wake her to eat, and once we are seated, I start talking.
"Angel," she looks over at me, smiling shyly.
"Are you alright, Theo?" Her brow creases.
"I'm great, angel. Doc came by while you slept and checked our pups. Both are fine, and we know the genders." She perked up at this.
"What were they?" She looked at her belly, a soft, beautiful smile on her face.
"A boy and girl," she squeals, and I chuckle.
"I'm so happy." She bursts into tears, and I lift her to my lap.
"Also, Doc gave us new pain meds that should help you for the duration of your pregnancy." She hugs me and yawns again.
"You are so fucking cute, angel." I kiss her neck and hold her. We stay like that till my cell rings, and I hand her to James. He kisses her lips and neck before feeding her.
"What?" I grit out.
"What time are we meeting Theo?" July asks, and I roll my eyes.
"In a few days, July around lunchtime, I will text you the time and which day," she sighs sadly, but I don't buy it.
"I'm serious. Theo, this baby is yours. I just want to be with you and raise our pup together," she rambles on while I roll my eyes.
"That isn't a pup, July, and you know it. You're pregnant with a human baby, so give it up. I'm not leaving my mate for you." You need to stop this crazy shit," she sniffles.
"I belong beside you, Theo. I should be Luna; I fucked you the longest. That title should have been mine; I earned it." I heave out a loud sigh.
"I will decide the date and time in July, but I'm warning you that if you try something, I will rip that baby from your womb and hand it off to rogues. I'm not playing this fucking game with you any longer," I grit out, and she gasps.
I'm so sick of her shit. Her fake shit is annoying, and I feel nothing but hate for her.
