Chapter 54: The father has met his daughter
The father has met his daughter
Tacha Williams
Does that mean Anthony didn't tell his brother about her?
Tacha had thought many times. Could that be true? That Anthony chose to hide this from his brother?
Tacha had spent two weeks in Lagos and she had never come across Nathan Brown.
She had never met any of the Brown, not even Anthony himself again.
The truth is, Nathan Brown may lived on the same earth she lived, but he doesn't walk on the same ground she walked. They may move by the same means of transportation in the same town but arrive at different places. And she does not even go to places men like Nathan Brown controlled. That was the truth about this man and she knew it.
As much as he tried to live a secluded life, the fame his family had was untarnished for being a billionaire, and his little appearances got reposted that Tacha couldn't help seeing what he looked like every year. He saw how he moved on. He knew one of his exes he dated while they went their separate ways. And there was one of the pictures he took with some selected female celebrities captioned by some bloggers and trended massively. She said her brother.
It was more like the only one Tacha remembered. She understood the sarcasm from the bloggers. The Lady had posted a picture, but the bloggers had found a video where she was bringing her chest closer to her brother who held her arm back in the video. The comment section was brutal for the actress.
His looks were part of what got so many reposts with captions like...
I love all the Browns, but he serves.
If he appears, he doesn't show mercy.
Were they wrong?
Truth be told, he was the type of man you turn back to admire over and over again. He was an embodiment of male power. Nathan was tall, straight, broad, sweet, good sense of fashion and had a beautiful face that made your heart wonder how he could be yours. Nathan Brown was the man who flickers your heart at first sight and once you get to know him, he captures your heart for being a true lover boy.
Whatever Tacha had communicated as her fears was not the truth. It wasn't because of the reasons she had stated to her family, nor because she didn't want to be seen by him, but because she could not fathom the fact that she, Tacha Williams had a thing with someone like Nathan Brown.
Now seeing him from afar, Tacha understood his pride. She understood why anyone like him would be full of themselves. What exactly does he not have? Or what exactly would his money not be able to get him?
Nathan was not just as rich as she thought. This guy was a walking billionaire. She never really processed he had that amount of money, and now she understood why his Mum thought she, a child of a nobody was a gold digger to her son. She realised that apart from his parents' money, he also was controlling billions of naira.
He had one of the biggest security companies in Lagos.
He owned some of the Jewelry shops run by his family.
It was said he partnered with his father to expand their petroleum business in the last years to states Napik was not known.
He owned clubs all around the Island and a few on the mainland. The popular Lucas lounge which had a bar and also a hidden club, properly sound proof was almost visited by all clubbers for its popularity and amazing services and all it provided.
He opened a luxurious hotel last two years in Abuja and the aesthetics shook Instagram with reposts for being the most expensive hotel and a night cost millions of naira. He said in his interview he had saved for ten years for the project and that he was broke, yet he opened the same hotel in Lagos last year. Nathan Brown was worth billions and the world knew it!
No! Every girl he'd ever been with knew except from Tacha who would rather stay far away from him.
He was a big shot that even Lola was ready to have his last name.
Being entertained by his presence didn't make Tacha realise men like Nathan cannot be found just anywhere. For four years now, she had never met someone like Nathan, again.
If there was something Tacha wanted to truly provide for her child, it would be a supportive mother and a responsible father. A home. A true family. One she never truly had.
In many homes she had seen, she'd seen how the support of both parents played a huge role in their children's lives. Nathan's Mum may be overdoing, but she loved her children. His father may not be perfect, but he shouldered his responsibilities giving his children the best to empower them and support them in what they chose to become.
Tacha was very sure, Nathan was going to be an awesome Dad and the best father to their daughter.
Come to think of it...
Tacha thought again.
Nathan had always been the one looking for her.
The first night she approached him at the Lucas lounger, he had found her many times after that.
He had found her the second time she went to the Lounge.
He had found her Mum knowing she would come over to his place.
He had found her at her restaurant job
He had found her at her home. A smile crept on Tacha's lips. He always finds her.
Does that make her special?
You know, he always finds me.
Tacha disregarded her thoughts very quickly. You are about to fool yourself again, she told herself.
Nathan Brown had moved on and soon she would, whenever she was ready.
Suddenly, Tacha paused the material she was cutting. The speed she added to drop the scissors in her hand was enough to make the table roar back at her. Her hands flew to her mouth.
Almighty God!
What was she thinking?
Nathan had found her. Yes! He had found her.
And he knew about Anna already.
God!
Tacha's hands flew to her mouth again.
How come she had never thought of that?
And then, the main entrance door opened.
Tacha knew only her Mum had the key to the house. She lifted her head still.
"My Mummy."
Tacha looked down at her daughter and her very cute smile lifted all her worries. She smiled back, about to tease her daughter who danced towards her with gladness. As much as Tacha was happy to welcome her daughter, her eyes could not have counted the beads attached to her daughter's hair. As usual, more than half were gone.
Dear God, I can't wait to stop buying new beads every two weeks, please.
Head shaking is one problem.
Another would be, see my bead...and one was removed while she was trying to show others.
"Mummy, why are you rubbing your eyes?"
"Darling," Tacha said and bent lower to her daughter's height. "You look more beautiful any time you come back from Aunty Kenny's place."
As if Anna understood what her mum meant. She laughed. "You are teasing me, Mummy. You want me to go back to Aunty Kenny."
Everyone chuckled before Tacha went ahead and rained kisses on her daughter's cheeks. "So, where did you get flowers?"
Anna's face lit with excitement. Her smile became bigger, getting Tacha curious as her daughter pushed the flowers to her. "He asked me to give you."
Tacha was still smiling, then she smelled the beautiful white flowers. "Wow." They smelled luxury and looked breathtaking. She thought they were worth some reasonable amount for the gorgeous smell.
"So who?" Tacha eyed her daughter, joy pouring from her eyes. "Who is the true gentleman?"
"Mummy, he must be very very rich. His car is so big." Anna demonstrated with her hands getting wider. "And very fine inside."
"He?" The smile on Tacha's face was beginning to fade. And then it faded instantly. Her brows came together and she immediately directed them at her Mum. As if she knew who it was.
What's going on? Her eyes were seriously staring at her mum for answers.
"Grandma, give her the card on the flowers nau," Anna said, getting her mum's attention again. "I want to use the toilet, Mummy. I'm coming."
As usual but Tacha was not ready to babysit her daughter to the toilet this time.
"What is she talking about?" Tacha was on her feet right now, hovering over her Mum for answers.
Tacha's Mum brought out the sealed white card. and handed it over.
"She was talking about her Dad."
Tacha's grip on the card was more like strangling someone to death.
Her hand that proceeded to open the white card froze.
Her eyes piercing down her Mum. As if she had just heard the most unbelievable response. She was shocked by her own Mum's reply. "Mum, what are you saying? Who did Anna see? Who gave her flowers for me? Mum, you wouldn't allow that!"
"So you think if your father had wanted to be in your life, I wouldn't allow it."
"Mum!"
"Anna and I saw Nathan today and he brought us home. He knows," Tacha's Mum said. "I have told you, no matter what, you can't hide her forever. Take his child to him. Listen to me, Tacha, and I promise you will be able to move on."
