Chapter 19: Another Thirsty Night

Chapter nineteen of Ruthless ❤️

Something is about to go down 😄😊

It was becoming of Tacha. Another thirsty night for a glass of cold water.

Tacha came out in her black floral lace nightdress, walking towards the kitchen. The day wasn't over yet. It was just past eleven in the evening. Tacha's mum, Angela, and Tacha had gone to bed early. The day was amazing, yet hectic and crazy for Tacha. Thinking she could hide from her family was a wrong prediction.

The smiles on her mum's face the whole day made Tacha extremely happy. Tacha had never seen her mum so fulfilled and happy for many years now. The joy of being with her sisters and not being talked down on must have been the reason.

Tacha thought that could only be the reason. She was fulfilled in her heart that her mum got what she wanted, and was happy about it even though Tacha knew her mum didn't need to show off anything, just to be respected by her own family.

She was expected to be loved regardless of her mistakes.

If she had not been picking up their calls, it was because she felt offended, ashamed, with guilt in her heart. As her family, the best thing they should have done was look for her.

"Do you always come out for water like this?"

"Oh my God! You scared me." Tacha rolled her eyes at Nathan. She took a deep sigh and told herself she couldn't be too familiar with him after the warning he gave her at his parents' house. When he came to pick them. They stayed silent all through without a word. Tacha's mum was the only one thanking Nathan. Tacha even left the two inside the car when she was getting no conversation from any of them. She didn't know what they talked about, but they took some time before coming out of the car, and that made Tacha curious. Even more worried. What could those two be talking about? Could it be her?

Tacha wanted to thank Nathan too. She thought Nathan deserved to be appreciated for his efforts to make her mum happy, but she didn't know how, when Nathan wasn't giving her the audience she needed. He seemed to be enjoying the conversation with her mum.

Tacha looked away from him. "I'm just thirsty. You know we have our personal fridge at your parents' place sir, so I don't come out this late for water."

"Well, I was waiting for you."

Tacha raised her head to look at Nathan. He was waiting for her. For what? "Waiting for me? I know that's not true sir."

"Yes, I lied, because I have better things to do than wait right here for you. I came down here because I needed a cold drink." Nathan reached for the fridge and brought out a canned Sprite.

Tacha rolled her eyes. Always full of himself. "I thought my mum told me you have a fridge in your room stocked with your imported drinks. Why come all the way down?"

Nathan knew his lie wasn't working. He didn't know when he chuckled for a while. "What else has your mum told you about me. Uhmm..." He laughed, dropping the canned Sprite because it wasn't his type of drink. "You know what, can you drop the sir cause it doesn't really suit you. It's sounding very weird to me." He made fun of Tacha. "When I'm angry, just call me Mr. Nathan so I won't have anything to warn you about. And when I'm not, just call me Nathan. I like it when you call me."

The two didn't know when they chuckled, but they did, at the same time. It came naturally, and not any of them was trying to hide it.

Tacha felt the beating of her heart in a different manner. Very quick and strange. It was as if a coach was in the room controlling her heart instead of her. He must have said... On your mark, get set, go! Just the exact way she could describe how her heartbeat went from zero to a hundred. She should have known her heart was getting set for a race, What was this man doing to her? She swallowed trying to comport herself around him. She didn't look up still. She brought the glass of water in her hand closer to her mouth and drank out of it before dropping it into the sink. "Sir, I don't think it's nice of me to call you by your name again. It's a mistake I realised myself, and I don't want to repeat it." She looked up at him and instantly regretted it. Those eyes. His eyes. So magical. So beautiful. What is it about it sef, Tacha? You form things too much. Magical your foot. Tacha smiled to herself at her thoughts, but her admiration for Nathan was stronger than her brain because of the way he always looked at her with those eyes. Ricko, never made her body this nervous. Tacha sincerely....loved it.

Tacha shook her thoughts away. "I actually wanted to thank you for today." She smiled, peeping up at him. "I'm even surprised we could talk this way without having to yell or scream at each other. Heaven must have captured this." She laughed. Nathan did too.

"That happens because you try to get me angry."

"No." Tacha looked up at him smiling, shaking her head along. "You know that's not true Na--" She stopped, looked away, and looked back at him. "You know that's not true." She placed her hand around her neck. "You always choke me like this with your choice of words. You low life! You this! You are a complete terror when you are angry." Tacha switched her tone to his, trying to mimic him with her hands as well. "You will respect me! And you are never to call me by name again. Is that understood!"

Nathan laughed so hard. He couldn't hold the fact that Tacha right now was funny and dramatic. Mimicking his voice, with his attitude, and posing just like him. He looked down at her and didn't mind what he was about to confess. "I've missed you."

Tacha stood stunned. It was all she could do. Her eyes on Nathan as the whole room went quiet and they could only listen to their heartbeats. Just like in the movies. When you could only hear the beats of your heart. Tacha tried not to smile, biting her upper lip before sucking her full lips in. "Our fights or--"

"You. I miss you." Nathan said, folding his arms on his chest. "You make me yell because you don't understand me. I think the only person who understands me the most is my PA."

Tacha smiled at him. "Trust me, she's only doing her job. No pay if she chooses not to understand Mr. Nathan Brown. I would have survived if I were to be your PA too."

"Come here." He went for Tacha, dragging her to him, holding her back to keep her in position. Tacha gasped at the feeling of being closer to him. The feeling of having him touch her. Her bare body. She was only in her mini nightdress that wasn't covering much. Completely naked underneath. It had always been her way of going to bed for fresh air to give her sound sleep, and not sudden hotness rushing through her whole body that made her lock her knees together. Right there.

"Say it." Nathan encouraged her. "You always call my name when I touch you this way. Or are you about to tell me you would never end up in my bed? Do you think those words don't hurt me too? Or you think I'm perfect and can take it all to myself because I'm a man. I know I'm not a saint, said some really shit things, but mhen, you are different."

Tacha was speechless.

She was different or what he just said?

He really needs to stop staring at her.

She was gonna betray herself...she really was going to ..oh no!

No. It doesn't look like he would.

Silence.

Heart beats colliding.

Tacha's body pricked at the sudden feel of Nathan's excitement between his legs, giving her warmth that could intensify the emotions in between her legs. She could feel the fire in her belly. The enthusiasm in her body. The willingness between her legs. Her nipples were hard and they pressed into his chest. Nathan just needed to touch them. Maybe just one of them and she would lose her senses, but he didn't.

"Tacha!"

Tacha came back from her half-lost senses. She released herself, moving quickly away from Nathan back to where her glass of water was.

"You've been leaving the room nowadays so I was worried." Tacha's mum looked between Nathan and her daughter. "You should have called me if you needed anything, sir."

"Mum." Tacha quickly went to meet her. "I was just leaving. Came to get some water for myself. Mr. Nathan saw me and just decided to say hi."

Both mother and daughter left the kitchen together. Tacha's mum remained standing the moment they entered their room.

"Mum." Tacha was concerned about the sudden look she was getting.

"Tacha, I'm not expected to know anything about your sex life, but darling. Don't sleep with him. Rather be with someone who will be proud of you. A man like that is a bit hard to handle."

"Mum."

"Darling." Tacha's mum went closer to Tacha, placing her hand on one of her laps. "He has his life planned out Tacha. Who to be with. Who to marry. And no matter how much he likes you. No matter how much he wants to have you, he's never going to change all that for you. Darling, don't start an addiction you won't be able to quench. You should stay away from here for a while. I will be the one visiting you from now on." Tacha's mum stood up and left Tacha to ponder on what was inevitable.

Tacha's phone vibrated.

It was a message from Nathan.

She couldn't remember giving Nathan her number, but he was Nathan Brown. He could always get anything he wanted.
