Chapter 129: The Confession of the Aman
The night descended upon the lodge like a silent cloak. The torches on the balconies burned low, casting dancing shadows over the stone walls. Rhaek had just returned from the courtyard when he was surprised by a familiar scent coming from the main hall: herbs, wine, and the discreet perfume that always marked Narelle’s presence.
He found it strange to see the table set only for two. Ceramic plates, red wine resting in tall glasses, and in the center, freshly picked wildflowers.
Narelle was there, sitting upright, her posture serene yet firm. Her eyes — as intense as his — followed him as he entered, and for a moment Rhaek could not tell whether this was an invitation to peace or a forewarning of war.
“I didn’t expect this,” he said, breaking the silence as he approached and pulled out the chair.
Narelle only arched a discreet smile.
“It’s not every day I prepare something… only for the two of us.”
The dinner began in silence. The sound of cutlery against the plates seemed louder than it should, each sip of wine heavier than usual. Rhaek waited for her to speak, and Narelle, patient, let the weight of expectation build until the right moment.
When she set her glass on the table, she lifted her eyes to him and said, without hesitation:
“Rhaek… after everything we’ve been through, every scheme that tried to tear us apart, every time we almost lost each other… nothing was as irresistible, as dangerous, as the presence of Alura.”
The Alpha’s chest seemed to tighten. He stared at her in silence, but her clear eyes did not waver.
“I accepted that challenge, you know?” Narelle continued, her voice firm yet calm. “I accepted to see how far that young woman would go, just to be sure my vote of confidence in you was worth it.”
Rhaek drew a deep breath, as though seeking words in the heavy air of the hall. But she did not let him answer yet.
“I knew of her seduction. The way she provoked. And I knew you would succumb… if not in body, at least in thought.” A slight tremor crossed her lips before she hid it in another sip of wine. “But if at any moment you did fall, I forgive you. Because every Alpha has the right to choose as many she-wolves as he wishes.”
Rhaek’s eyes darkened, and he leaned his elbows on the table, moving closer to her. His voice came out low, hoarse, like thunder held back:
“Narelle… yes, I was touched by her beauty. It would be a lie to deny it. A wild youth like hers could shake even the firmest of warriors. But…” he paused, as if each word had to carry the weight of truth, “that would never be enough to trade a Luna like you for a reckless girl.”
Narelle held his gaze, and for the first time that night, allowed a light smile to soften her serious expression.
“And that’s what proved everything to me, Rhaek.” Her voice now carried sweetness, yet also the firmness of a decision. “When you sent her away, when you chose the pack and us, and not your instincts… then I knew. I knew that despite all temptations, the Alpha who leads is also the man who loves me.”
He took her hand across the table. Strong, warm, almost possessive. Rhaek’s eyes, which rarely showed vulnerability, burned with something deeper than desire: an unbreakable love, tempered by pain and struggle.
“Narelle… my Luna. No young fire could ever extinguish what we have. You are my beginning and my destiny.”
The silence that followed was not heavy. It was intimate. The candles burned low, the wine sat untouched. There, in the middle of the hall, reconciliation needed nothing more than the truth. But Rhaek wanted to end this night more intensely. He took her to the lake.
The moon reflected on the mirror of the lake, stretching its light across the calm surface of the water. The wine had left Narelle’s blood warmer, her skin more sensitive to every touch, and her eyes shone as though they carried ancient secrets.
Rhaek walked by her side in silence, his stride firm, yet his gaze betraying the fire that had been building since dinner. When they reached the edge of the water, Narelle set the nearly empty bottle on a rock and turned to him with a slow smile, full of intention.
“So, Alpha…” her voice came out drawn, husky, like a whisper brushing the skin. “Show me that all this power isn’t just for frightening others.”
He did not answer. He only pulled her by the waist and kissed her hard, the wine mingling between their tongues, leaving them intoxicated by each other’s taste.
His hands slid down her back, firm, until they found the curve of her hips. Narelle moaned into his mouth, biting his lower lip before breaking the kiss.
“Right here, Rhaek… I want the moon to see what it means to be yours.”
The Alpha did not hesitate. In a few movements, he undressed her slowly, as though each piece of clothing were a gift to be unwrapped. The dress slipped off her shoulders until it pooled at her feet, revealing skin gilded under the silver light of the moon.
Rhaek paused for a moment, only to take her in. “You are mine, Narelle. You always were.”
She smiled with mischief, pulling him by the shirt until she ripped the buttons with her own hands. “Then take me, as if I were your only she-wolf.”
He lifted her in his arms, plunging her into the cold water of the lake. The shock of the temperature made them both gasp, but soon the heat of their bodies overcame any resistance. Narelle wrapped her legs around his waist, feeling the hard length pressing against her still-covered intimacy.
The kiss grew wild, his tongue exploring every corner of her mouth while his hands gripped her breasts, firm, drawing muffled moans from her lips.
Narelle arched her body, grinding against him, wet not only from the lake but from the desire consuming her. “Rhaek… now.”
With a sudden thrust, he entered her deeply, making her cry out into the echo of the night. The sound reverberated through the woods, and the she-wolf dug her nails into his back, holding on as if she were about to fall.
His movements were firm, measured, each stroke plunging deep and tearing gasps from her lips that mingled with the splashing water around their bodies. Rhaek took her with force, yet with the devotion of a man who knew exactly how to make her lose control.
Narelle, however, did not let herself be only dominated. She tugged his hair, reversing their positions and straddling the Alpha in the lake. Water streamed over her firm breasts as she rose and fell over his body, her hands clutching his shoulders with passion.
“Like this…” she panted, the words spilling out between moans. “I want to feel you lose control for me.”
Rhaek growled low, fascinated by the sight of her riding him, her wet body glowing under the moonlight. He gripped her waist, guiding the frantic rhythm of their movements. With every thrust, water splashed around them, as though the lake itself joined their pleasure.
Narelle screamed as the orgasm tore through her, her muscles clenching tight around him. Her whole body trembled, her legs squeezing his waist as if she never wanted to let go.
Rhaek pulled her against his chest, biting her shoulder hard as his own release exploded inside her, hot, deep, filling her to the limit. His roar echoed across the lake, marking the night like a seal of possession.
Breathless, they remained entwined in the cold water, warmed only by skin and the wine still rushing in their veins.
Narelle trailed her lips along his neck and whispered: “Now I know… you are mine, and no one will ever take what is mine.”
Rhaek kissed her again, not as Alpha, but as a wolf in love, surrendering completely to the female who had always been his strength and his ruin.
