Chapter 6: CHOSEN

Chapter 6

ROYANNA

The hall went still the moment Mistress Sansa, the veiled woman, walked in. Her steps were slow and calculated as she approached us. She stopped in the centre, eying every one of us.

She clapped her hands, and the woman from earlier stepped forward. “Is this every one of them?” She asked, and one of the women with long dark hair replied, “Yes Mistress.”

“Good.” She muttered and locked her gaze with mine. “I want to believe all of you understand the basis of why you are here?” She paused as if hinting at us to speak, but I knew better than to open my mouth, and neither did the others.

“Worthless flesh is what I like to call the lines of you, but Alpha King Troy is actually merciful to cull you slaves.”

She walked towards me, eyes narrowed, “A proper introduction has not been made due to my absence. But now that I am here, let me formally introduce myself. I am Sansa, Mistress of the pleasure house. I run this brothel under the approval and guidance of Alpha King Troy, and you all are the new slaves that will honor your bodies to the cause of this organization.”

She rolled her eyes from me to the next woman standing beside me, “Here, you no longer go by the names you were born with or have known all your life. You shall bear the names I give to you.”

“But before you get your names, the Alpha King will be here to pick up his new sex slaves, and then he will personally brand you to his liking. The rest of you shall then bear my name and serve me until your last breath. My rules are simple:keep my customers happy, and never take in a child, or along with your useless little offspring, you will die.”

Some of the women gasped, but I kept still, listening, and trying to numb the pain gnawing at my heart. I had to fight it, not to think of this as my life.

Concluding her triggering words, Mistress Sansa left, leaving behind her two loyal workers.

My heart pounded in my chest as I waited for the heavy doors to open once again, knowing who would be stepping in.

We didn't wait for long, as the sound of the door opening sent chills down my spine.

A figure walked in draped in a regal black furry cloak, his amber colored eyes looked sharp for a man of his age, his face was framed with the weight of centuries. His hair was long and silver as the moon, his beard was thick, spilling down his chest. He had an aura that whispered of battles fought, and kingdoms lost and buried.

It was him…

Alpha King Troy.

Behind him was Mistress Sansa, he stepped forward, presenting us to the king.

“I have fetched you some new pets, my king, the best of my recent collections,” she said, her voice smooth and calm, like she wasn't spitting ill words or degrading our existence into nothing but pleasure tools.

The king stepped forward, his eyes raking past me and to the other women on the line.

He took a step forward, and I shivered as he passed by the first woman. It was clear that I wasn't the only one affected by his presence; some of the women bowed their heads, and others were visibly trembling. When he stopped before the first woman, my stomach turned.

He didn’t speak. Instead, he raised his large, weathered hand and traced the line of her cheek. He roughly pulled her forward, his hands moved down to her breast, barely covered by the lacy gown we were all wearing. His face scrunched up with displeasure, he shoved her aside and moved on.

One by one, he touched them, gripped them, appraised them as if they were nothing, like trinkets to be purchased.

And then he stopped in front of me.

I stiffened, my knees growing weak, but I forced myself to remain upright. His gaze dragged over me slowly, disdain curling his lips.

“What is this?” He barked and I caught Mistress Sansa jerk, before quickly masking it with a small laugh.

“I am sorry my king, I knew her appearance would take you by surprise.” She approached me and wiped my bare skin with her clothing, “She's cursed my king, that's why she looks like this.”

I bit my cheek to keep me from making a sound, the last thing I wanted was drawing unpleasant attention to myself.

Suddenly, the king's hand shot out, and his fingers seized my hair in a tight grip.

“Ahh.” I gasped as my head was yanked forward, and pain shot down my neck. His face loomed closer to mine, his breath was hot and reeked of wine and blood. I held back the urge to gag at the stench of his breath as he pressed his nose to my hair and inhaled.

“And why isn't she dead yet? She's useless here.” He yelled in a hoarse voice, and my eyes widened, heart thundering in my chest.

“No please.” I voiced out desperately.

“I am not useless, I see visions. Please spare my life, I will be useful to you.” I revealed a terrible truth about myself, which could have had them hack off my head immediately.

I had never been so desperate in my life, so desperate that I revealed my most hated feature for a chance of life.

“Hmmm.” The king hummed, but said nothing else. Suddenly, he let out a growl of disapproval and shoved me back into the line without another word. He moved over the rest of the women, after which he turned to the Mistress.

She bowed slightly, her voice smooth and obedient.

“Have you made your choice, my king?” she asked, but the king didn't respond immediately.

Tension made my knees buckle, but I forced myself not to collapse, not to give any hint of weakness at this point.

The silence stretched heavily and grew unbearable. What would be my fate if I didn't get chosen by the ruthless old king of Majestica? And what would be my fate if I were chosen by him?

The King turned and lifted his hand, pointing toward a woman with trembling hands and blond hair, “This one.” and then he slowly shifted to another with raven black hair.

“That one,” he said. “And the cursed one.” He revealed redirecting his hand towards me.

Mistress Sansa clapped her hands sharply, her bangles jingling as she gestured for the chosen ones to be pulled out.

I stood there, my chest heaving, my hair still stinging from his grip, the disgusting smell of his breath im

printed in my head.

I had been chosen, and once again my fate had been decided.
