Chapter 455

Chapter 455

Travis looked deeply at Emery, "I understand."

"Well, since the person is already dead, I hope you can accept my condolences. We'll be leaving now."

Travis glanced at Arnold, and the two left in sync.

As if they had just come by for a routine inquiry.

After leaving Elite Medical Spa, Arnold said, "This Emery is obviously lying. The person who went to eat seafood with Mira was very likely him."

Travis nodded, "The deceased's height is 5.51 feet. The male who was with her was about 6 feet tall, slim build. Emery basically fits these characteristics."

Travis's brows lowered, looking very serious, "There's a bottle of antihistamine in his white coat pocket, commonly used for allergies, and there are red rashes on the back of his hand. He's very likely allergic to seafood. We need to keep an eye on him. I wonder if Kelvin will have any new leads on his end."

At that moment, Kelvin and Sienna were heading to the police station.

Halfway there, they received a call from Leroy, "Kelvin, something else happened. At Brilliance Bridge, a sanitation worker found a bag of cooked meat chunks. Thinking someone had thrown away meat, he took it home to eat, and ate a finger!"

Kelvin immediately turned the car around and headed to Brilliance Bridge.

These two murder cases came on strong and would be shocking even in the past.

The task force office was filled with gloom.

"Still no news from Leroy?"

Kelvin flipped through the case files in his hand, his expression somber.

Sienna quickly returned with the autopsy report, "The identification results are out. The deceased is male. Based on tooth and bone wear analysis, age around 40, obese, high blood sugar content. The body parts were cooked at high temperature. Currently 109 body parts have been found, missing special organs and some internal organs. There's an obvious blunt force trauma mark on the back of the skull, confirmed as the fatal injury."

"The tool used to dismember the body should be a saw. Some body parts have obvious wood chips, soil, and leaves. The leaves are from a sycamore tree, which in Emerald City is only planted in the ecological park."

"Because the body was cooked, it's difficult to determine the exact time of death."

Kelvin's gaze shifted, "Ms. Taylor, don't tell me the deceased is Gibson."

Sienna nodded, "Mr. Brown guessed right."

"We just extracted the deceased's DNA, which matches the skin cells extracted from under Mira's nails earlier—they're from the same person. His identity is Mira's husband."

"There's one more thing."

Sienna's gaze swept over everyone, "I found Mira's skin tissue under Gibson's nails. Mira may have been killed by Gibson."

Kelvin's face grew grave. He stood up and wrote his analysis on the case board while saying, "Tomorrow Sienna and I will go to the ecological park. Arnold, you investigate whether Gibson actually left the country and how he came back. Travis, you continue investigating Emery."

He looked at Leroy again, "Leroy, I want to see the trace evidence results tomorrow."

"Yes, sir."

Kelvin thought of something and looked at Travis seriously, "Travis, isn't your wife about to have your second child? Don't work tonight, go home early to be with her."

Travis had gotten married two years ago. Before the wedding, he had drinks with Kelvin and said he was going to slowly forget about Brenda.

All these years he hadn't dated anyone because he'd always had Brenda in his heart.

He couldn't think about Brenda while marrying someone else—that wouldn't be fair to the woman.

But life had to move forward.

Travis nodded and smiled, "Don't worry, does my wife need your concern?"

Kelvin kicked him.

That evening, Kelvin and Sienna returned to the estate. Simon was tutoring Margaret and Amy with their homework.

He rarely looked this serious.

Seeing Kelvin return, he immediately tossed the books to Kelvin, "Your daughters, you tutor them."

Kelvin looked at the books, then at the two children's homework, and suddenly felt that catching bad guys outside was actually pretty easy.

He resignedly sat down next to Margaret and sighed, "Alright, Dad will teach you today."

The next day, Kelvin went to the station with dark circles under his eyes, catching up on sleep in the task force office first thing in the morning.

After Travis and the others came to work, Kelvin and Sienna went to the ecological park.

The forest was large, not easy to search. Just checking footprints could take until tomorrow.

After walking for a while, Sienna crouched down, carefully examining the seemingly normal soil beneath her feet.

"What is it?" Kelvin asked quietly.

He slowly crouched down, following Sienna's gaze, his expression gradually becoming serious, "No signs of rain, but they're arranged very regularly."

Sienna nodded, "Let's follow them."

The closer they got, the stronger the smell of blood became.

In the densest part of the forest, a large group of ants were gathered together, surrounding something oddly shaped.

Sienna put on gloves and carefully picked up the thing. Looking at it, her expression suddenly became strange.

It was a male organ, already somewhat mangled by the ants.

The staff nearly vomited at the sight.

A worker asked while holding back nausea, "Officers, how did you find this?"

Sienna said calmly, "The deceased had high blood sugar. Without rain, ants gathering for no reason very likely means something is attracting them."

Kelvin sniffed the strong smell of blood and explained quietly, "This is the dismemberment scene. See if there are any other clues nearby, then you can leave."

The workers didn't dare stay long. Even one more look made them feel sick.

Kelvin called the station and had them send people over.

Sienna had already started looking for the rest of the deceased's body.

Everything had been cut into pieces. They even found the deceased's phone. It wasn't until people from the station arrived that their progress sped up.

By the time the group returned, it was already late at night.

Arnold had quickly cracked Gibson's phone and called out, "Kelvin, Gibson never left the country at all—he went to Skyview City."

Skyview City was right next to Emerald City, very close.

Arnold continued, "In Gibson and Mira's recent chat records, we found a video and a conversation!"

Opening the video, all five of them felt a bit disgusted.

Gibson was naked, entangled with a woman. The scene was unwatchable.

Below was a chat record.

Mira: [Do you want a peaceful divorce, or should I go to court and sue you, ruin your reputation?]

Gibson: [That woman and I were really just fooling around.]

Gibson: [Can you wait until I get back to talk about this?]

Gibson: [Without me, what do you think you are?!]

Below was a string of curses, dated exactly three days ago.

"So Gibson was also cheating during the marriage?"

Leroy clicked his tongue, "The wealthy circle is really messy."

Sienna's gaze was cold and serious as she asked, "The question now is who killed Gibson and buried Mira's body in the cemetery?"
