Anisha's Perspective:
The forest enveloped us in its verdant embrace as Aanya and I followed a hidden trail, leading to the secret base camp of the gang- the Sniper Mafia. Aanya told me she planned that we would be getting help from another group. I know about Sniper Mafia. When I was trained, I was informed that three mafia groups hold the most power in the criminal world, and one of them is the Sniper Mafia. Except for this information, I didn't know anything about this organization.
I know Aanya was doing her research and gathering information from various sources that could help her in achieving her objective. I know she was being meticulous in her preparation and being thorough.
And she should be because her fight is not with just anyone.
Our first encounter was in prison, when I passed through her cell and saw the most broken soul lying on the floor. She was trembling, covered with signs of violence and fear. She looked like a wounded animal that had been countered, desperate, and completely hopeless.
No one was allowed in that cell except for the guards who went in for the daily routine checks, and even they would avoid her as if she was infectious.
After that encounter, we crossed paths again after 6 months. I saw her in the infirmary. And the look in her eyes reminded me of someone dear to me who had lost her will to live.
My thoughts were interrupted when Aanya took hold of my wrist and saved me from falling off-balance on an uneven patch of ground.
"Focus, you might get hurt," she whispered, her voice tinged with concern.
I nodded and followed Aanya's step as we continued our journey through the dense forest.
When we reached our destination, I noticed there were two men dressed in black suits standing outside the entrance of the base camp, and behind them stood a group of men with tattoos and intimidating expressions.
But those two stood out from them as they exuded an air of authority and control. The presence of these two men in black suits suggested that they held positions of leadership within the Sniper Mafia, possibly being higher-ranking members or even the heads of the group.
When Aanya reached them she shook hands with one of the men, both of them exchanging knowing glances and nodding at each other. When I stood beside Aanya and then she introduced me to him.
He shook my hand and introduced himself as the head of the Sniper Mafia, Reyansh Rout.
He turned towards another man who was standing beside him and said, "He is my right-hand man, Hridhan."
When I laid eyes on him,... my breath hitched in my throat. His very presence seemed to radiate a mesmerizing aura, drawing me in like a moth to a flame. With his dark, wavy hair, chiseled features, and eyes that held a thousand untold stories, he was undeniably handsome. I must have been caught in a daydream because, suddenly, Hridhan's deep, strong voice broke through, introducing himself. My cheeks flushed crimson, realizing I had been staring at him like a love-struck teenager. I quickly tried to regain my composure, but the enchanting effect he had on me lingered.
Aanya, my ever-observant friend, leaned in and whispered in my ear, reminding me to control my hormones and emotions. I rolled my eyes in my mind at Aanya's words but appreciated my friend's reminder to stay composed, as we are not here for personal matters, but rather on a serious mission.
After the introductions, Aanya skillfully introduced me as the daughter of none other than Don Gomez. Both the men assessed me with their sharp, scrutinizing gazes, sizing me up and gauging my capability.
We all followed Mr. Rout's lead and settled into his office for a serious discussion. I admired the rustic charm of the office; with its wooden furniture and dim lighting, creating an atmosphere that commanded respect and hinted at the secrets held within its walls.
After we all settled down, he commanded one of his men to bring refreshments for everyone.
"Let me be clear," Mr. Rout started in a commanding tone, meeting Aanya's gaze with intensity.
"We'll only do this in exchange for the land, no other compromises will be entertained and no other favors will be granted," he stated firmly.
Aanya nodded in agreement with Mr. Rout's statement and spoke with monotone confidence, "You can send your men with the transfer papers and the necessary documentation to the current owner of the land and he will sign the papers to complete the legal process of exchanging land ownership."
Mr. Rout remained silent for a moment with his neutral facial expressions. Then, with a swift demeanor, he leaned forward and placed his hands on the desk, locking eyes with Aanya.
"We invited both of you today with a clear agenda to discuss the Dagger Syndicate and its members. Also, I want to know the reason or motive behind your involvement in this dangerous situation," he said sternly.
"We need to establish basic trust and transparency before we move further with the task at hand. As you know that the Dagger Syndicate is a highly secretive and dangerous criminal organization, we cannot afford any hidden agendas or betrayals," Mr. Rout emphasized, his gaze unwavering. "I'd like to know what risks I'm putting my organization and team if we go any further."
Aanya stayed calm and composed in response to Mr. Rout's questioning.
"I am trying to help my friend to claim what rightfully belongs to her. She was deprived of her inheritance by the Dagger Syndicate, and I am determined to rectify this unjust situation. 26 years of her life had been snatched from her so that she can claim and handle her family's legacy. But when she finally had the chance to do so, she was met by the conspiracy of the members of the Dagger Syndicate," Aanya explained in a resolute tone, her expression reflecting determination and a hint of underlying anger.
She took a deep breath and controlled her emotions.
I know that Aanya may be cold and monotonous most of the time, but when she cared for someone or stood up for what she believed in, there was a fire within her that was undeniable.
"I can guarantee you that your man will not face a dangerous situation because of my ulterior motive," Aanya assured Mr. Rout.
He maintained his intensified and penetrating eye contact with her as he contemplated her response.
Hridhan remained silent throughout the whole conversation and observed the interactions between both of them. After a moment, he scribbled something on the paper and then slid that paper toward Mr. Rout.
Mr. Rout picked up the paper and read the message from Hridhan. He then shifted his attention toward me.
"You are the daughter of the leader, and therefore you may hold many insights and knowledge about the inner workings of the Dagger Syndicate."
I nodded in acknowledgment of Mr. Rout's statement, confirming that I indeed possessed valuable information regarding the organization.
He continued, "We need you to cooperate with us and tell us about that information. It would be helpful if you could tell us about how your childhood was and how other members treated you after you were announced as the future leader of the Dagger Syndicate."
Taking a deep breath, I began my tale. I recounted the bittersweet memories of my childhood, how my mother had left this world when I was just five, and how I became the sole heir to my father's empire. As the daughter of a mafia leader, I understood the expectations and challenges that lay ahead of me.
Hridhan's keen observation did not go unnoticed by me.
Despite the vulnerability, I felt while recounting my past, I refused to let my emotions get the better of me. I had been groomed to be strong and unwavering, to lead with a steel resolve.
I continued, "My father faced pressure from his trusted men to have a male successor. They had urged my father to remarry and produce another child to take on the empire. But my father's unwavering love for my late mother had stopped him from betraying her trust and breaking his promise of having only one woman in his life."
My voice trembled slightly as I shared the hardships I had endured from an early age.
"My training began at the tender age of six, under the guidance of the most ruthless and strict mentors within the organization. I recall spending grueling ten-hour days training relentlessly, alongside my studies. My childhood had been far from ordinary; it was filled with hardships and responsibilities beyond my years."
As I spoke, I exuded strength and determination, a testament to my resilience. "My life had been shaped by circumstances beyond my control, yet I had embraced my destiny without hesitation. The weight of my responsibilities had been a heavy burden to bear, but I had chosen to shoulder it with grace and valor."
Even as I recounted the most difficult moments, I refused to shed a single tear. My vulnerability was well hidden behind the walls I had built around myself.
Mr. Rout attentively listened to my story and nodded in understanding.
By mistake, my gaze met Hridhan's eye contact, and I could see a flicker of admiration in his eyes. But it was gone as quickly as it had appeared, replaced by a stoic and professional demeanor.
After a moment of silence in the room, Mr. Rout, with his serious and intensified gaze, inquired about the event that landed me behind bars. I hesitated for a moment, my mind swirling with memories I had locked away. But I knew this was a part of my life I couldn't hide.
Taking a deep breath, I began to share the harrowing experience that had led me to imprisonment-a tale of betrayal, unforeseen alliances, and a dark conspiracy that had ensnared me within its web.
