Richard's POV
"Are you sure this is going to work? I don't want to create more problems for Vanessa and I" I groaned
"Chill man. If it turns into something you don't like, then you also contributed to it. Use this moment to figure out who you want to be with because I am very sure Paula will still try to make passes at you especially since Vanessa is here" Matthew said.
"You think she still likes me?" I asked, scratching the back of my neck
"And I also think you still like her." He smirked at me.

"Why.."
"Don't say anything. Think it through and observe too. Meanwhile, the swimming pool is ready" Matthew smiled. "This is 5 o'clock. What's taking them so long?"
"I knew it. I knew she wouldn't come once she knows Paula would be involved too" I groaned, pacing back and forth
"Nah..I can't do this with you right now" Matthew shoved me aside with his shoulder, heading into the house back.
"But what if..."
"Helloooo guys!!!!" Becca yelled, stepping inside the house. I looked around for Vanessa but I couldn't see her.
"Oh hey bee" Matthew said to his girlfriend, kissing her.
"Hi Matthew, Hi Rich, Hi ..." Paula said, waving at everyone in the room.
"It's Rebecca to you" Becca said sternly.
"Oh sure. I'm Paula"
"Good to finally meet you" Becca smiled halfly at her. She's not even good at pretending to like her.
I sat down on the chair, looking at the door anxiously. I didn't have the guts to ask Becca anything.
"Chill dude." Matthew whispered, sitting close to me.
"Thank you for inviting me over" Paula smiled at me.
"It was Matthew" I simply said
"Oh." Paula nodded. "Thanks Matthew"
"I just want us to get along. That's it" Matthew smiled. Liar.
"You don't mean that!" I heard a familiar feminine voice laugh. That should be her. I stood up immediately from where I was seated, waiting for her to make her presence known.
"I'm serious. You sure know how to make someone like something" a male voice responded to her.
I looked at Matthew who was trying to hold back his laugh. This isn't even funny. I looked back at the door.
"What's going on here?" Jared asked, looking at all of us. "What's this?" He asked when his eyes settled on me
"Hi Jared. It's been long man. I heard you were in town and decided that we should all hang out for old time sake" Matthew stood up, going to shake Matthew. "Hi, Vanessa. It's been ages" He hugged her lightly.
"Tell me about it!" Vanessa giggled softly. "Hi everyone. Thank you so much Jared for helping me with this" She said, taking the grocery bags from Jared.
"Bee, why did you let her get more stuff?" Matthew said, taking the bag from Vanessa
"Like Vanessa would listen to me. That was her only condition before she followed me down here." Becca groaned.
"Control it. You can do it." Matthew whispered to me. After he said that, I let out a breath I never knew I was holding in.
"Hi Cousin" I said to Jared. "Remember Paula?" I introduced.
"I'd never forget her in my life" Jared smiled at Paula. "We crossed path again. I'm starting to think this is fate" He said, kissing the back of Paula's palm
"Hi Jared" She said timidly, taking her hand away from his immediately. "What are we doing?" She hurriedly stood by my side, not dating to look at Jared
Okay, something is definitely going on between these two.
"Since we're 6. We'll be grouped." Matthew said
"I'll be with Richard!" Paula announced cheerfully.
"I'll be with Jared" Vanessa said out loud, making me livid.
"Still want to choose me after I almost killed us?" Jared laughed.
"It wasn't that bad. Maybe I was just overreacting" Vanessa giggled.
"Any objections?" Matthew asked, looking pointedly at me.
Right... Choice.
"Yes" I said, causing everyone to look at me. Becca was paying close attention to everyone. This is one time I didn't hear her talk much. "I want to be partners with Vanessa. Your running time is over" I smirked at her
"Trust me baby, I wasn't running" She chuckled. "Is that fine by you, Jared?"
"Trust me, I think I have a lot of catching up to do with Paula. Right bear?" Jared said, walking over to Paula who was now turning white.
Matthew and I shared a knowing look. I quickly looked away.
"Okay then. The first game on our list is between Truth or Dare, Never have I ever and Seven Minutes in heaven" Matthew announced. "Gather around. We'll be using a bottle to spin. Babe do a poll"
"Okay, hands up if you want Truth or Dare?" Becca asked and only Jared and Paula raised their hands up. "Only two persons?"
"Hands up if you want seven minutes in heaven?" Becca asked again. This time, Paula, Jared and Matthew's hand were up. "Still poor"
"Hands up for Never have I ever?" Becca asked, raising her hand. This time Vanessa, Matthew, Jared and I raised our hands. "This seem to have the highest vote then"
"I'll go get Henessey!" Matthew smiled. "If you have done whatever the person said, you drink."
"Everybody gets 3 chance to ask questions. Then after that, we move to our next activity and unto the next." Matthew said, dropping the shot glass on the table and also the Henessey drink. "We're not going to be using bottle anymore. We'll do it one after the order. Who's starting?"
"Me!" Becca yelled!
"Wait. Can we expose anybody that refuses to talk? Especially if we know the truth?" Jared asked.
"Why would we do that?" Paula chimed in.
"Because it'll kill the aim of the game?" Jared smirked.
"Sure. We can do that. So I'd advice everyone to be loyal to the game so as to not get exposed" Matthew said, smiling at me.
"Okay. Never have I ever sucked a man's dick" Becca said, smirking at Vanessa.
All the girls drank.
"Never have I ever kissed a girl?"
All the guys drank. Surprisingly, Becca and Vanessa drank too.
"Wait what?" I laughed
"You don't wanna know, trust me" Vanessa laughed too.
"We both kissed during a truth or dare game. It was yuck" Becca laughed.
"Rebecca!" Vanessa hid her face in my chest. I laughed, rubbing her back.
"I'm glad it's Rebecca, cupcake" I whispered to her
"Stop that!" She giggled.
"Okay my turn! Never have I ever had sex in an adults closet" Paula smiled
"I thought we usually ask what we've not done. How can someone ask what they've done?" Jared asked, smirking at Paula.
"Yeah that's true" Vanessa agreed.
"Well, that's why this one is different!!!" Becca chimed in.
Jared and I drank. I looked at Jared weirdly but he just shrugged, looking at Paula.
"My turn. Never have I ever had unprotected sex with someone's that's not my boyfriend" Jared smirked at Paula.
Only Paula drank after much hesitation.
"What?" Becca laughed.
"I mean, people get wild. Get over it" Paula snapped.
"Never have I ever wore a matching outfit with someone" I said.
No one drank except Paula.
"You seem to forget you guys were the golden couple" Jared scoffed.

I drank too anyway.
"Okay, my turn. Never have I ever used a dating app" Vanessa smirked at Becca.
Becca and Matthew drank.
"Never have I ever wanted an ex back" Becca said coldly.
Nobody drank except Paula.
Should I drink? I did want her back initially when she ran but not anymore.
"You're not going to drink?" Vanessa whispered.
"That's not my table" I whispered to her, pulling her close to me. I could feel her smile on my chest.
"Never have I ever stayed for a day without bathing" Matthew said
Everybody drank except Matthew
"Y'all are pigs" Matthew laughed
"Never have I ever fingered someone in a family dinner"
Only me drank.
"Wait, really?" Vanessa asked
"It's long ago" I answered honestly.
"We almost got caught." Paula laughed. "Oh sorry"
"Never have I ever betrayed someone I love" Jared said
Becca and Paula drank
"My parents" Becca said to Matthew.
"How about you?" Jared asked Paula.
"Mind your business" She rolled her eyes.
"Is it that bad to know? Did you betray an ex?" Jared asked
"Can you stop that?" Paula yelled at him
"Why?" Jared asked. "Never have I betrayed someone in this group!" Jared said
"You can't do that!" Paula yelled
"We had 3 chances" Jared challenged. "Y'all fucking drink if you have!"
"I'm not playing this stupid game anymore!" Paula stood up, heading out.
"Excuse me!" Jared stood up, running after her.
"Uhh... That was intense?" Matthew said
"Should we not go and eavesdrop?" Becca asked
"Nope" Vanessa said, snuggling into my body. "We need to talk babe"
"You called me babe" I smiled at her, holding her close.
"Get over it" She chuckled
"So this game is over! Everyone take a break so we can come back for the next activity. Come with me man" Matthew said to me.
"I'll see you later babe" I kissed Vanessa's temple.
"This is the time to go and eavesdrop!" Matthew whispered, pulling me away
"But..."
"No buts. Go!" He pushed me towards the door.
