Chapter 11: Chapter eleven

I am starting to think Zia was right. Bringing my wall a little lower was a good Idea. I feel happy these days. Jace has been good to me.

His kisses are exceptional. We do that a lot. Now I have a feeling my body is trying to betray me. It wants more of him. His scent is so calming.

We have been on three dates already. Which was wonderful. We are now officially dating.

What I need to do next is introduce Jace to my only reason for happiness. Amelia. She needs to know.

It's Monday and Amelia just left for school. Their school bus picked her up five minutes ago. I am about to leave. I don't want to miss the second bus. If I do, I have to wait 10 more minutes before the next one comes.

Two minutes left, I hurried out of the house. I locked the door and turned to leave. What I saw surprised me.

"Jace!?" I questioned myself.

Jace was outside my house, leaning on his rented car. I tried to make him return the car but he insisted. In fact, he paid for months, but refused to specify how many. Do car rentals even do that? Rent out a car for many months?

I wouldn't know. I never had one or attempted to rent one.

I walked over to him. He had a smirk on his beautiful face. Beautiful man.

"Jace, what are you doing here this early? Is everything alright?"

"Never been better. Everything is great." He stood up straight and reached for the car door to open it. "From now on, I shall be your very personal driver anywhere you want to go" now the door is wide open for me to go in.

My heart melts. "But Jace.... I couldn't possibly allow you to do that. It's too much." I have my palms over my mouth. I am shocked.

"Allow me!? More like you can't stop me. Now get in. You're gonna be late if you stay and argue."

"Ok fine. Just for now. But we have to talk about this later." I said as I got into the passenger's side. He closed the door and jogged to the driver's side.

I couldn't take my eyes off of him. My heart is melting with love. Love? I meant like. I like Jace a lot.

This is one of the sweetest things someone has ever done for me. This shows he has me in his thoughts. But it's too much. I can't let him do that everyday.

"I will be home early today, why don't you come over for dinner." I looked his way.

"I would never say no to your cooking," he teased. I believe he was just teasing me. "It's a date."

I might not be bad at cooking, because it's something I love doing, but I am sure I am not that good.

"What time are you closing from work?" He asks.

"I will be done by 6pm."

"See you at 6 then" he smirked.

I feel he knows I find that attractive. That is why he does it when he has my attention.

Jace dropped me off. I thanked him, we said our goodbyes and he left.

Zia won't be here until 5pm. That is when her shift starts. Amelia will be dropped off at her place, then they will come along with her to the restaurant. Then we will go home.

I can't wait for her to get here and feed her our update with Jace and his act of care and kindness.

Russo is not back yet. I missed him so much and his cooking. We have a temporary replacement, Nicholas that was brought, until he returns. Nicholas is a bit younger than Russo, but not as friendly as Russo. Though his cooking skills are good.

Finally! It's 5pm. Time was really slow today. Or maybe it was because I have news to share. That's why.

15 minutes later, Benjamin dropped Zia and Amelia. They came in through the back and I just went into the kitchen to drop some used plates in the sink when they came in.

"Mummy...." Amelia ran towards me and hugged my legs.

"Hey baby... How was your day?" I knelt to eye level with her after I dropped the contents in my hand and gave her a hug.

"It was great." She cheered. I released her from the hug and stood back up. "I did all my homework at Aunty Zia's. Do I get extra TV time?" She had the puppy dog eyes and pouted.

This little creature knows my weakness. She never seized the opportunity to use it against me.

"Ok sweetie... If that is the case..." I tapped my lips with a finger like I was thinking about it. "You could get 30 more minutes of TV time. That is if you did it well"

"Yesss!" Amelia celebrates.

Zia is happy to hear Jace's gesture towards me. I told her I wasn't going to let that happen though.

"Why is that!?." Zia held on to her waist. We are now in the female staff office. She is changing into work clothes, while I am changing into my regular outfit.

"It's just too much. I don't want to be a burden." I have finished changing, I hung my uniform and sat on a chair.

"Burden!? I really don't get your point." She sits next to me. "You did not ask him to do that, he felt the need to do so. He probably used that as an excuse to be with you more often." Zia tries to reason with me. "Please don't push him away. You deserve it. You deserve to be treated like a Queen."

I giggled "Queen huh!"

"Yes your majesty" Zia did a dramatic bow. "Besides, soon to be a godmother shouldn't be running after buses" she blushed.

I laughed "future godmoth....."before realization hit me. My eyes grew wider. "Oh my God! Zia. Are u.... Pregnant?!" My eyes are filled with tears of joy. I gave her a hug "congratulations. I am so happy for you and Benjamin"

We arrived home a few minutes after 6. Jace kept his word. He arrived before 6. I will start preparing dinner for us, but first, I have to officially introduce Jace to my daughter. This time, as my boyfriend and not just a friend.

Although they have met like 3 times already, we were friends then. I am nervous. I don't know how she is going to take the news. This is something I have never done before.

I hope she takes it well because I really like him and I would like for them to get along well.
