Chapter 143: Chapter 143
Chapter 143
“I went to call my husband, and while I was talking to him the service just went off all of a sudden. I tried calling back, and his line has not been reachable since then.” Lorraine explained to Jeffrey who asked where she was coming from and why she has a frown look on her face.
She sighed retrieving her seat right beside him on the bench.
“Well is he at home? Maybe you should go meet him or just sent him a text to visit the hospital if you wish to wait till Faye’s surgery is done.” Jeffrey gave his suggestion, not sure if it would be of help but spilling it anyway.
Lorraine nodded, sighing once again which make it twice in a short span of when she did it the last time.
“Are you okay?” Jeffrey asked, taking notice of the consistent sighs.
“I don’t know. I just feel-“ she groaned sighing again. “I feel a little- like I. Uhmm, I feel bothered and I don’t know why, like I don’t just feel okay at all, it is as if something is not right, and I don’t know what. I don’t know, but I’m feeling so uneasy that I can’t explain the reason why.” She struggled with her response, rolling her eyes at her blabbering as well as sighing with her palms rubbing on her forehead.
“Uhmmm.” Jeffrey wheezed the humming sound with his eyes squinting and focusing on Lorraine, his lips then smacked against each other before he began spewing his thought, “Maybe you should go home. See how things are there, then rush back in and you might be in time with the surgery getting done. I didn’t expect it to take this long honestly, how many hours now?” He said to her, morphing a disbelief look at his last words referencing to the ongoing operation on Faye.
“Yeah probably. Call me and keep my updated though, like tell me or text me when the operation is done. I don’t want her opening her eyes and not seeing me by her side at all. So promise me?” She quested, looking serious with her frowning face and her lips downturned.
“I promise.” Jeffrey flashed her an assuring smile.
Lorraine returned the smile standing up from where she’s seated, walking over to the bench her mom is at seated with her uncle.
He is better now, still looking sad but not tearing down like before which gave her mom the privilege to rest and off consolation for awhile. She’s yet to deliver to them the bad news about who is dead, and she doesn’t even know how to tell them.
“Mom I’m going to visit home real quick and I will be back. I just want you to know, there is something I need to check on.” She told her, she gave her a solemn nod which means she heard her.
Lorraine turned around walking away from them, the car keys was with her and she would be driving herself throughout her ride.
As she walked through the hallway, heading down the stairs to the first floor that leads to the hospital’s frontal exist.
She was silent, not liking the eerie feeling that crept up her system. She looked around, a bit shallowed but her surrounding as she increased her pace.
She brought out her phone and returned to calling Avon’s line which were repeatedly ended with the same excuse of the line being unreachable.
She couldn’t help the feeling that something bad is happening from spreading through her mind. Is Avon okay?
She has no one to answer the question, she doesn’t have Finn’s contact to call him and ask about her husband if he is alright and there is nothing to be worry about.
He really has a lot of enemies, yesterday’s night was when he was shot three times in the chest and they haven’t talked yet and how he came back alive.
He was shot thrice on the chest and he almost died, his enemies almost succeeded in taking him away from her.
While drown in her thoughts, and oblivious to her environment she bumped into someone.
“Sorry.” She apologized quickly without looking back or caring enough to see who she bumped into.
“Hey, hello what about my files. The one you spilled all over the floor.” The young lady who was on a white coat over her blue top over a blue trouser, and a stethoscope around her neck, a signature of her being a doctor.
She also had glasses on her frame and really a beautiful woman.
Lorraine stopped, rolling her eyes as she felt obligated to her irrationality about the accidental bump bent down and started picking the files.
“Hey I didn’t mean you should start picking them up, are you okay? You don’t look so good.” She asked, noticing the sour face she had on.
“Wait you totally look like the wife of Avon Barksdale; the Dragon General’s Wife.” She stated, sounding less vocal as if her reasoning was impossible and absurd.
“Well I am.” Lorraine confirmed, standing up and done picking up the scattered files on the floor.
“Holy mine. Yikes I’m so sorry for making you pick those files, here I will also do it.” She immediately she threw the files back to the floor, not minding how scattered it was. “I will pick them myself and I’m really sorry for making you apologize also. I’m Cassie Stones, yeah from The Stones family, one of the great five.” She introduced, before getting on her knees and began gathering the files she intentionally scattered on the floor.
“Yeah whatever.” Lorraine hissed annoyingly before walking away from her presence, her respect or introduction are the least of what is going on right now with her.
And the low bottom of what she cares about is her family being a part of the shadiest group of families in EastHill.
The dark feeling was becoming more and more overwhelming and she has no idea where it is coming from. She could not help but be worried.
She sprint into a run, pushing past the entry and glassy doorway of the hospital as she raced to her car, entering with a haste as she turned on the ignition driving off to the street.
She was pretty tensed, the nails of her one hand getting nibbled on by her teeth while the other hand handle the wheel.
She stared with anticipation at the road, stepping on the gas with more pressure that had her zooming faster than before.
Minutes later, Lorraine made it to the mansion without getting crashed from how fast she was speeding.
Lorraine jumped down from the car shutting it close as ran into the house. She headed straight into the room she shared with him, she climbed the stairs, not minding how weak she was getting with each she took without not slowing down.
She ran through the passage arriving at the room and upon opening the door there was nobody inside the room.
Now she was becoming more disturbed, and deciding not to assume things yet she ran out of the room heading to his office.
She got there and it was also empty. The entire mansion was really quiet and a bit scary for her due to the state she’s in.
She found a maid walking back, “Who is at home? Where is my maid?” Lorraine asked, not minding how anxious she sounded.
“Ms Kory is at home, but I have no idea where Sir General is.” She bowed after her response, walking away from her response.
Lorraine turned back immediately heading to Kory’s room, her steps were fast as well as hurried, it didn’t take up to a minute before she arrived at her door.
She pushed open the door without knocking, coming to view a revolting scene that had her throwing her eyes away as she put compose herself.
She was naked on the bed with her legs spread and a dildo; a dick sex toy stuck in her vagina. Lorraine tried not to wonder where she got it from at the moment, she can bother later.
“Get out of my room right now!” She snapped screaming at her arrival as she removed the toy penis immediately hiding it in the drawer beside her bed.
“I need to ask and know where Avon is? Is he home? Did he come home? Is he okay?-“
“I don’t care, just get the fuck out of my room and let me dress up and come handle whatever is wrong with your lane ass.” She cut in her sentence saying to her.
“Just answer my question and I would be out of here in a snap.” Lorraine pushed, pouting her face.
“You do know no one is at home right, heard you’re little cousin or best friend is admitted to the hospital isn’t she?”
The silence she got from Lorraine validated the question as she smirked, a very sly and evil one popping up her face. “Perhaps I should take advantage of this alone time we have in our gold and get rid of you forever and ever. Thank goodness your stupid bestie is not available to protect you or your husband. Prepare to die bitch! Enough of you giving me problems.”
