Chapter 101: Uncovering Deception
King Leo paced back and forth in his chamber, his anger radiating off him like waves of fire. The betrayal from the Dragon Kingdom had ignited a fury within him, threatening to consume everything in its path. Before succumbing to his rage and launching an attack, Leo knew he needed counsel, a voice of reason, to guide him through the storm. How dare they kill his baby without expecting retribution?
King Leo sought guidance from his dad, Alpha Bryan, the wise and experienced leader of the New York Pack. Together, they sat in the grand study with his Grandfather, Alpha Jacob, surrounded by towering shelves of ancient texts and maps. Alpha Bryan listened intently as his son poured out his frustrations and anger, recounting the events between their kingdom and the Dragon Kingdom. Leo's voice trembled with a mix of fury and desperation. He loved his Queen, who belonged to the dragon Kingdom and would refrain from hurting her. He had to walk tenderly before he further hurt her feelings.
"I cannot let this treachery go unanswered," Leo declared, his voice laced with determination. "But I do not want to act rashly and destroy our family ties unnecessarily."Alpha Bryan placed a comforting hand on Leo's shoulder, his wise eyes filled with concern. "My son, vengeance is powerful but should never be unleashed blindly. We must gather all the facts and seek the truth before we decide our course of action." Leo contemplated his next move, with his father's advice resonating. He knew that King Draco, ruler of the Dragon Kingdom, held the key to this puzzle. Alpha Bryan suggested contacting Draco to discuss the matter and seek a peaceful resolution.
Meanwhile, King Leo shared the new plan by summoning his brother-in-law, Prince Titan. They would set up a meeting with King Draco, laying all their grievances on the table and endeavouring to find a way to mend the broken trust. Titan went to the Dragon Kingdom to set up a meeting with King Draco. Will King Draco's son-in-law retaliate against him? King Draco was tense and emotionally charged at the meeting as accusations and grievances were aired. King Draco, although seething with anger, was willing to listen. He, too, sought peace and resolution for the sake of their kingdoms. King Leo said that he loaned his wife to Draco’s Kindom to solve a problem not to lose his child. At this, tears poured out at the loss of his grandchild.
As the discussions unfolded, a shocking revelation emerged. Markita, consumed with righteous anger, revealed that she had discovered the culprit behind Portia's poisoning. It was Dawn, the herbalist trusted by the royal family.
Driven by her fury, Markita stormed off to the dungeons, determined to confront Dawn directly. She seized Dawn by the scruff, her voice dripping with rage as she demanded answers. "Why did you betray us? Who told you to include the young pineapple juice in Portia's food?" Markita seethed. Fear filled Dawn's eyes as she stammered, "Lisandra. He ordered me to do it."
Markita's blood boiled at the mention of Lisandra's name. She released Dawn, her mind set on finding her and bringing her to justice. The truth was finally coming to light, the puzzle pieces falling into the palace. Markita left the dungeons, her steps echoing with steely determination. She was determined to locate Lisandra to ensure she paid for her crimes against their family and kingdom.
The story was far from over. Secrets were unravelling, lies exposed, and darkness confronted. The Dragon Kingdom and the Polish Kingdom were on the precipice of a decision that would either lead to peace or ignite a war that could engulf them all. The destiny of both kingdoms hung in the balance, and only time would reveal the path they would take.
POV Princess Markita
I stood in the bustling marketplace, my armour gleaming in the sunlight as I scanned the crowd for Lisandra. Revenge fueled my every step. My sword gripped tightly in my hand. As I approached her, determination etched on my face, Lisandra dropped to her knees, tears streaming down her cheeks. Her cries for mercy echoed through the air, but my heart remained hardened. How could I show her any mercy after what she had done? My voice, filled with anger and sorrow, cut through the chaotic sounds of the marketplace. "You silenced the voice of my sister's unborn child. How dare you." Lisandra's eyes widened, a mix of confusion and shock. "What are you talking about?" she asked between sobs. "Portia lost the baby?" Her words pierced through my anger, shattering it into a million pieces.
The weight of the loss hit me like a tidal wave. A surge of emotions flooded my system, and I couldn't breathe momentarily."We need to talk," Lisandra pleaded, her voice filled with desperation. "But first, you must promise me that my children will not be harmed, especially by their father, who is vindictive." I hesitated, my grip on the sword loosening. Lisandra's words echoed in my mind, and a flicker of doubt sparked. Could it be true? Could Lisandra be innocent? With a heavy heart, I made a decision. I extended my hand towards Lisandra, offering my promise. "I swear that your children will be safe.
Now, tell me the truth."Lisandra took a deep breath, wiping away her tears. "I am not responsible for this act," she confessed. "Someone else is involved, someone who holds the key to the truth." My curiosity piqued, and I leaned closer, urging her to continue."Dawn," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "Dawn knows the truth. She knows who orchestrated the deceit, who was behind the poisoning and the loss of Queen Portia’s child."Shock rippled through me at the mention of Dawn’s name. She was my Prince Andy’s herbalist. How could she be involved in this betrayal?
Before I could process the revelation, Lisandra stood from her fallen position, wiping away her tears with determination in her eyes. "We must find Dawn," she said, her voice laced with urgency. "She's the key to unlocking the darkness that has enveloped our kingdom." A new purpose ignited within me, fueled not by revenge but by the desire for justice and the truth. Lisandra and I would join forces to confront Dawn and uncover the tangled web of lies that threatened to tear our family apart.
As we set off on our journey, bound by a common goal, I couldn't help but feel a flicker of hope. I hope that love will prevail amidst the pain and loss and that our kingdoms will find peace again.
And so, the hunt for Dawn began, our hearts heavy with determination and the promise of redemption. Little did we know this journey would uncover more profound truths than we ever imagined.
