Chapter 113: The Deal

Chapter 113: The Deal
At this point, Leo spoke up. “Mr. Green. Is this the standard of conduct for Omni Group? Bringing a lunatic like this to disrupt my workspace? It seems the rumors are true: Mrs. Green clearly has no standing in this household.”

Damian was utterly bewildered by the scene. His bloodshot eyes were now wide with shock. His gaze swept over the dozens of fabric swatches on the table, the scattered design drafts, and the half-finished suit pinned on Leo. Fear gripped his heart. Leo’s influence in the fashion world was massive. If he spread negative word, Omni Group’s already plummeting stock price would suffer a fatal blow.

“Mr. Leo, this is a misunderstanding, a complete misunderstanding…” Cold sweat broke out on Damian’s forehead. He snapped his head around, glaring viciously at Sienna. This idiot! If she hadn't sworn that Evelyn was cheating, he wouldn't have lost control, rushed over, and made such a public spectacle of himself!

“Damian… no, don’t believe her!” Sienna clutched her face. “Who holds a business meeting in a hotel bedroom? Something’s definitely going on! The bed… look how wrinkled the sheets are!”

“Enough!” Damian roared in a fury, grabbing Sienna’s arm. “How much longer are you going to embarrass me? Get out!”

“Damian! You’re hurting me!” Sienna shrieked and struggled, but Damian was focused only on damage control, with no time for tenderness. He forcefully dragged her toward the door, yelling at the bodyguards outside, “Take her away! Don’t let her cause any more trouble here!”

“Let me go! Evelyn, you bitch! You faked it! You faked it all!” Sienna’s hysterical screams faded until the elevator doors closed, and silence returned to the hallway.

In the adjacent room, Ryan sat in front of a monitor, swirling a glass of whiskey, the ice cubes clinking against the glass. On the screen, Damian was practically bowing to Evelyn, groveling apologetically. Ryan’s eyes were dark as ink, fixated on Damian’s hand trying to touch Evelyn’s shoulder. “Get your goddamn hands off her,” Ryan muttered at the screen. The passionate look on Evelyn’s face just moments ago was for him alone to see. Who the hell did Damian think he was? Also, which bastard leaked his and Evelyn's location? He had to find out.

After the furious Leo was gone, only Damian and Evelyn remained. Damian looked at Evelyn’s cold profile, his earlier arrogance completely gone, replaced by an almost pathetic eagerness to please. “Evelyn, I’m sorry,” Damian rubbed his hands together, trying to explain. “I was just so worried about you. Hearing those rumors, I just… you know I can’t lose you.”

Evelyn sat on the sofa, picking up her drawing pencil without sparing him a glance. “If your so-called concern means bringing your mistress to accuse me of cheating, and humiliating me in front of a potential partner, then your love is utterly worthless.”

Damian choked on her words, but he desperately needed her help now. Although Leo had left, he hadn’t completely cut ties, meaning the partnership was still possible. If Evelyn won the upcoming design competition, it would not only salvage Omni’s reputation but also be a major catalyst for boosting the stock price. This was his lifeline.

“I know Sienna went too far today, and I will punish her when we get back.” Damian moved closer to Evelyn, softening his voice. “But Evelyn, the company is in serious trouble. The stock is plummeting. You’re Mrs. Green, and you’re part of Omni. I need you to participate in this competition under Omni’s name to help restore the group's image.”

“If you win, we’ll wipe the slate clean. We can start over, okay?”

Start over? Evelyn sneered inwardly. This man, who had been ready to attack her moments ago for Sienna, could now instantly switch to a face of false affection for his own gain. It was disgusting. But she didn't reject him outright. She wanted more than just a win; she needed to pull Sophie out of that mess. “Fine. But I have one condition.”

“Name it. Anything I can do,” Damian said.

“Immediately drop all lawsuits against Sophie, and issue a public clarification on the Omni Group official website, admitting it was a work error, not her fault, and clear her name,” Evelyn stated. “Otherwise, the deal is off.”

Damian’s face stiffened. Suing Sophie had been Sienna’s idea and a way for him to assert authority at the company. Making a public clarification would be a huge loss of face. “Evelyn, that’s…”

“If you can’t do it, forget it.” Evelyn made a move to stand up. “It’s not like I’m desperate to help Omni anyway.”

“Wait! I agree!” Damian gritted his teeth. When profit was on the line, pride meant nothing.

“If you win the competition, I’ll not only drop the lawsuit, but I’ll give you the Director of Design position at Omni and transfer all of Sienna’s current projects to you!”

Evelyn looked at his eagerness, a sarcastic curl to her lips. Director of Design? She had no desire for that toxic place. But for Sophie’s sake, she nodded. “Deal.”

Watching Damian visibly relax, Evelyn lowered her eyes, hiding the cold calculation there. Damian, you think I’m helping you? No, I’m just digging your grave myself. And this is only the beginning.
