Chapter 14. Is Jacintha's Son a Werewolf?
In front of Jack, Jacintha felt a bit awkward: "I’m using the meal voucher you gave me before."
Raphael scoffed mockingly. Jacintha felt her cheeks burn and instinctively bit her lip before lowering her head to ask Jack, "Are you in pain?"
"No pain," Jack shook his head.
Jacintha gently patted his head: "Then go back to your seat with Aunt Mira. I’ll talk to my friend for a while."
"Yes, mommy!" Jack was a little worried about Jacintha but still obediently nodded.
Mommy? Hearing Jack call Jacintha that, Raphael glanced at them in surprise, then remembered that Lucas had mentioned Jacintha had a son. However, he didn’t care about Jacintha’s affairs and wasn’t interested in them, so he hadn’t really paid attention to whether she had a child. Now, suddenly seeing Jack, Raphael couldn’t help but glance at them a few more times, a strange feeling crossing his mind.
Before he could fully grasp the feeling, Jack noticed his gaze and looked up with large, cautious eyes. Raphael didn’t bother arguing with a child, but he was extremely annoyed by Jacintha's sudden appearance in this restaurant.
He had indeed given Jacintha the meal voucher, but she hadn’t used it before and had deliberately chosen the day he brought Sharon here to eat, even coincidentally bumping into him with her son.
From these signs, Raphael was sure Jacintha had arranged everything. She wanted to take advantage of this so-called "chance encounter" to continue bothering him. If Sharon misunderstood him because of this, he would make sure Jacintha paid for it!
The more Raphael looked at Jacintha, the more annoyed he became. His handsome face darkened, and his expression was so cold that even the customers sitting nearby felt a chill.
Jack, seeing this, refused to return to his seat with Mira. He kept holding Jacintha’s hand tightly, whispering in her ear, "He looks so fierce. I want to stay with you to protect you." After saying this, Jack’s back tensed up like a wolf cub ready to fight. He didn’t realize that he was baring his teeth, his small hands clenched into fists, and his nails slightly sharp, digging into his palms.
As for Raphael, seeing Jack’s reaction, he suddenly took a sharp breath. The scent from Jack, the scent of his kind, made the Alpha wolf in Raphael stand on edge. From Jack's aggressive behavior and the look in his eyes, Raphael could be sure that Jack was also a werewolf like him, but perhaps because Jacintha was human, the wolf inside Jack was weak to the point that if Raphael wasn’t an Alpha, he wouldn’t have noticed.
Wait a minute, if Jacintha was human, and Jack was werewolf, then she must had been his father’s mate. Only through mate bonds could humans and werewolves mate and produce the next generation.
Damn it! Clearly, Jacintha already had a mate, and yet she dared to say she liked him! As expected, she was the kind of cheap woman who only traded her body for money. He almost fell for her 'fake love.'
Jacintha saw that Raphael’s expression was even more displeased than before, and there was a stain of cream on his suit from Jack accidentally brushing against him. She hurriedly said, "Sorry, Jack made a mess on your clothes. How about this, you take off your jacket, and I’ll wash it and return it to you."
Hearing this, Raphael thought to himself: she really was trying to use this clumsy excuse to continue bothering him.
Raphael scoffed and then took off his jacket, revealing a white shirt underneath. His broad shoulders and muscular chest made him look powerful and mature.
Jacintha's heart skipped a beat, and she raised her hand to take Raphael's jacket, but he coldly said, "No need, it's very dirty."
"It's fine, the stains on your jacket won't transfer to me."
"What I mean is, you're dirty. Don't touch my jacket." Raphael said coldly, his voice laced with mockery and disdain.
Jacintha's expression immediately froze, as if something heavy had struck her chest, the pain so sharp it almost shattered her, and her face felt as if someone had slapped her hard, hot and painful.
She could feel the strange gazes from the people around her, including the waiter standing silently by. She had become the subject of gossip among the guests dining in the buffet area.
Jack didn't understand what the adults were saying; he just felt his mommy's hand was very cold. He worried and looked up at Jacintha, "Mommy? Are you okay?"
Jack tugged at Jacintha's hand, his nose wrinkling as he smelled the anger radiating from the giant man in front of him. His instincts told him that this man was a threat to both him and his mommy.
Jacintha snapped back to reality, lowered her head, and smiled at Jack, "I'm fine."
Jack was still worried because he felt his mommy's smile wasn't a pleasant one; it seemed like she was about to cry. It must be because that nasty giant in front of her bullied her! Jack thought angrily.
Jacintha tried to calm herself, pretending nothing was wrong, and then said to Raphael, "Then I'll buy you another jacket."
Raphael replied, "Can you afford it?"
Before Jacintha could answer, Jack, his face as red as a tomato, hurriedly spoke up, "Of course she can afford it! My mommy has money, she'll buy you another jacket!"
"Jack!" Jacintha lowered her head, gazing at Jack with seriousness. "I've taught you before, when someone else was speaking, you could not interrupt them. It’s very rude."
Jack pouted.
Raphael glanced at Jack, a mocking smile curving on his lips before he asked, "You say your mommy has money, but do you know where her money came from? Or, to put it another way, do you know how she earned it?"
Jacintha's face turned pale as she screamed, "Mr. Wulfhart!"
Hearing Jacintha's panicked cries, Raphael slightly curled his lips, revealing a mocking smile. However, he said nothing more and handed his jacket to a nearby servant: "Too dirty, take it and throw it away."
The servant took the jacket and quietly glanced at Jacintha. Her face alternated between red and pale, and she wanted to pick Jack up and leave as if nothing had happened. But suddenly, the wound on her right cheek throbbed, as if reminding her of Raphael’s true nature.
Raphael was a man with deep schemes and ruthless tactics, and at times, Jacintha couldn't guess his intentions. But Jacintha also understood one thing: although Raphael always appeared polite, he was actually very cunning. As long as she acted obediently and weak, Raphael would no longer trouble her. On the contrary, if Raphael didn’t speak and she dared to leave on her own, the consequences were unimaginable!
Thinking this, Jacintha lowered her head and softly said, "Mr. Wulfhart, the incident earlier was my fault. I shouldn’t have disturbed your dinner. Jack has soiled your clothes, and I apologize on his behalf."
